Anybody tried d Woda Spa n Resort yet? Going there with family emd of d mth, not sure any action there. Only knw its near Golden Prawn restaurant....lol.Any help is appreciated.

Yup, tried it 3 weeks ago. I took the signature villa. Overall, place was nice and relaxing. The in-house massage was also good (the therapists were from Go Massage), albeit a bit pricier than outside, of course. Only downside are that it's a bit further in from the more mall-ey area and that the Wi-Fi is horrible. The signal is good, but somehow just couldn t connect. Asked the staff, they said usually like that at first, but changed their tune in the evening when they said it's due to maintenance.

Overall, worth a try. Quite a nice place for a romantic getaway, because the night view is really instagram-worthy.

Oh, if you are going, some drivers might not know where it is, so just get them to drop you at golden view hotel's parking lot near the lobby. There's a small pathway from the parking lot in the middle leading to the villa's lobby. Learnt the hard way when my driver dropped me off about a mile away because we missed the entrance. If in doubt, ask the guards or workers there.

SYT = IDR150,000 = SG$14.26
SYT = IDR200,000 = SG$19.02

Really this is the price after conversion or my mathematics had failed?

Just HJ. No big deal. Only sillyporeans would pay more than std price.

If not, more than wechat I would recommend a KTV. More expensive, but safer if one does not feel hardened enough. Wechat is the last option I would recommend to a newbie.

I agreed with this point. For my case, staying in a hotel with good options like KTV (with girls) and massage parlors (offering special services) in it or those nearby is recommended. There is no such as there will be no working girls found in Batam.

Bro, where is this burger boy?

Its at Harbour Bay Mall basement, outside Go Go supermarket.

Do note ,not to quote the whole post as there's a high chance the mod might just remove your post before i see it to reply,hehehe...

Cheers! ;)

Haha.. thanks for the valuable info bro nono, i should have seen your advice earlier before we started our hunting. Yes true that its not easy to find and options are limited, thats why we thought it be easier over at batam. Luckily we did not pay a high price for the wechat incident via trial and error.

I apologize for the late reply ,your case is a rather unique case ,whereby you are looking for something more exotic than the norm,hehehe...i do not have such fetish tho ,but along the way in my past trips,a small handful of bros has some similarity and they shared with me either via PM and/or physically hearing from them in person.

So when i replied you earlier,my reply were base on a compiled experience.

By the way, what do you mean by your experience, you booked the gal from booking joint to your hotel?

In the past, maybe a year or 2 ago,i traveled to Batam mostly alone (alone in 1 room),i book a girl (sometime 2 of them) from booking joint/s,and i enjoy giving the girl/s i book comfortability so they dont feel bore, hence i order massage girls from the hotel or outside hotel (nearby hotels i stayed in) to come to my room to do massage for myself AND the booking girl/s. Its easier to break the ice that way, helping the booking girls and the massage girls to mingle together.

When it comes to threesome or more than threesome, some level of understanding and comfortability between the girls is definitely needed, especially i believe when 90% of these indo girls arent onto those fetishes you and your girlfriend were into. My beliefs were often, if i cant get the girls to do what i wanted to,i pro-create it (to create a situation/ambiance to change the environment so it can suit me).

I shall relate this scene as my friend's incident :

1st, he has a booking girl,he order 2 girls to come into his hotel room to do a 1st hour massage for himself and his booking girl (why 1st hour 1st,becos he can always extend if a situation favors him). I mean the massage girls surely wont prompt my friend for special due to my friend already having a booking girl.

Almost end of 1 hour,my friend would ask, "how come no special?",hehehe...and the massage girls will say "you already have a girlfriend" blah blah...and my friend will say, "if my girlfriend allows me to have special service, will you do it?" The answer is almost definite a "yes".

Next question my friend has to the girl who massage his booking girl,"you have special service/s for my (booking) girl too?" ,he's referring to his booking girl, citing that if only he do special and his booking girl didnt get any special, wont she be boring just "watching"? Massage girl tells my friend his booking girl doesnt have a dick,hehehe...how to do special service? My friend will just say, "you can massage my girl naked, right?" ...and the conversation goes on....slowly step by step breaking the ice to see how far the massage girl/s can go. They are afterall very new to what what my friend are asking for (same applies for your case).

(in between of course there's discussion about price and all that, but do note not to push the price too high at one go 1st (hold back) becos this is only step one otherwise you may have a problem later when you and girlfriend wish to take further steps)

1st session, the girls might or might not take the 1st step out of a certain fetish, but my friend who try to keep a record of those who are willing to take their 1st step out. Becos he's going to order the same girl/s the next time round to try to get to step 2 and next next massage session, step 3 and so on. Rome's not build in one day anyway. And all these can be done within the same day (so he gets about 3 sessions of massage from the same group of girls in one day). The key thing is to get ALL the girls naked inside his room,hehehe....to take away their shyness.

Example : According to what my friend tells me, once he teasingly tells the massage girls,"if you let me watch you suck my girl's left nipple for 1 min,you get 50k rupiah extra (or 100k rupiah if 50k fail)" and the massage girl do it and he actually time it,hehehe.... Before the above,he also ask massage girl/s to massage his booking girl's breast and nipple too while he watch (and he is getting his lil bro massaged by the other massage girl). :D

What my friend did was with every step further,he would add-on a certain amount of money and until he reached what he is finally looking for,it only cost him about S$60 to S$70. What he gets is he manage to get all the massage girls naked. You know right, once everyone's all in nude in a small space, our minds would also be gradually more open up too.

Reference to my previous post :

https://sbf.net.nz/showpost.php?p=17671539&postcount=11493

Above method, not 100% foolproof as it also very much depends on your EQ and communication with the girls involved. But i would say, it does gives a higher chance than going around half-blindly. What works well for me and my friends may not work well for others. Most of my friends, including myself dont speak Indo Bahasa hence it usually took a bit more time (and effort) for us to get what we crave for in Batam.

Where is the booking joint? You mean your gf was in the room and join in as well?

I arent in your kind of fetish,so what i was refering to were all booking girls in the past, not my girlfriend. But i am sure you can just "pretend" that your girlfriend is a booking girl in the above scenario.

And i heard and read that most hotel MPs spas are clean, mind sharing which hotel your friend went where the hotel has massage gals that provide special services as well as outcall to your room?

Yes,you are right in some way. Most hotel's MPs were clean,hehehe...perhaps thats on most other bro's perspective too. My concern is more on hotel's MP pricing, which is rather stiff aka expensive rather than if they offer any special service,hehehe... :p

You dont need to have go to hotel with MPs. You can try hotels with not-clean MPs around the premises too,eg Utama hotel area, walk aroud Utama hotel,walk-in to get their contacts, check their pricing, call them later. They will come if where you stay is nearby. I would still say that its better to get a MP with photo album in them so you get to see what you order for in advance.

Just to add,i stayed in Formosa Hotel often,i am a Gold Card member there, hence i get 20% off from room service and their in-house massage. Therefore my price in the in-hotel massage cost 88k/hour. You may join as a member as well but for starter, you only get 10% off.

Thanks bro, just upped ya pts ☺️

Thank you for the points,i should have ask you not to up my points but instead rate this thread a 5 Star instead. :o

*avoid quoting the whole post in your reply or you may just reply me w/o quoting at all, thanks.

Relating our experiences so other cheongsters here can becareful while cheonging yea. Have fun and stay safe!

Once more, I hope newbies will learn the lesson:
1) Wechat must be the last option (something that is not missing in Batam is girls)
2) If one really wants to try the thrill of wechat, NEVER GIVE THE ROOM NUMBER. Meet outside, have a drink, check the feeling, say bye at the first red flag.

(I admit I had a couple of nice experiences with girls met on Wechat, but they were not those propositioning plain "LT/ST" in the information note, and I took all precautions above)

Around Nagoya area nearest one would be Delta Spa. But that one is not recommended in this thread. I nv been there so not sure. If just want massage with special (fast game), around Nagoya only can think of behind Hans Inn. Around 1km out of Nagoya shopping mall. Got a few shop there. PM me if you need more info on this. :)

Hopefully, though by the time i touch down on 17th, it would already be almost 6. If negotiations with the mami don't work out, will probably book the girl for 18th instead. Or package it as a 2 day deal.

Hmm...just realize that 17th is actually also Friday,hehehe...i guess if you planned in advance, all should be most likely smooth sailing for you.

Anyway bro, if you planning to go in September, maybe a week before you could ping me? If i'm going, maybe we could meet up, share notes (i think you'll be sharing more than me. HAHAH), or bring our girls out or something.

Will do, i have no dates for September as yet,one reason is due to HIP for my HDB flat,hehehe...share notes not a problem, but it is likely done within a cup of coffee or tea and a puff,hehehe.... I also dont understand why nowaday,i seems to be getting busier in Batam than before (i brought some work to Batam to do :o ).

Next month September,i am more likely to start planning for my CNY 2019 trip,hehehe... i got bitten once during my 1st CNY in Batam,i dont wish to get bitten again,so i'm pretty careful now. :D

Yup, tried it 3 weeks ago. I took the signature villa. Overall, place was nice and relaxing.

I am curious, how much did you pay for a night stay at Woda. Not that i dont know the pricing but i am more of thinking that i should make some price comparison,hehehe...in hope to get the best value out of it.

... and that the Wi-Fi is horrible. The signal is good, but somehow just couldn t connect. Asked the staff, they said usually like that at first, but changed their tune in the evening when they said it's due to maintenance.

Too many people using the wifi. Their internet routing system couldnt cope with the masses. It happens before in other hotels during CNY too. Give them a bit of time,i believe they will improve on that part. I bypass hotel wifi with andromax nowaday,hehehe...more of like a back-up in case of an all else fail situation.

You went there on a weekend, didnt you? :p

Overall, worth a try. Quite a nice place for a romantic getaway, because the night view is really instagram-worthy.

Your words above is very tempting to me...makes me want to go there next month (or October) but i know i gonna wait 1st. My plan was on weekday, and i am comparing with the free pick up package at S$188 with 1.5 hour massage for 2 person.

https://pixator.org/images/2018/08/14/a1.jpg

Notice how they price their package, starting from S$188 NETT,hehehe...very tricky indeed.

Beside the signature villa, they also have the signature villa plus too (i think with the bath tub).

Of course bro. Would be weird if it's done in the middle of nowhere. If happen that i book a place with a pool, can always share while the girls swim or whatever. See how lah.

I am curious, how much did you pay for a night stay at Woda. Not that i dont know the pricing but i am more of thinking that i should make some price comparison,hehehe...in hope to get the best value out of it.

Was $110 when i booked through Agoda previously. Check in sunday, check out monday.

Maybe, but i doubt so, because they don't have a lot of villas, which is why you need to book a few weeks in advance. Anyway, sim data is cheap, so no problem, but my complaint was because it spoilt my plan to stream netflix at night. Telkomsel does not allow netflix usage. Zzzz...

And ya, difference between signature and plus is the bathtub.

Just came back from Batam with my Batam girl. So didn't cheong or what, but just write down what I did in case any Bros needs a getaway with their girl.

We went KTM resort for a night, near Sekupang. It was $64 for the sea view Villa with breakfast. Took ferry to Sekupang and met my girl. Free shuttle took us to the resort itself and it was better than I thought. We reached at 11 but they allowed us to early check in by 3 hours! Really good service. Rested and you know what and then went out for a walk. The resort isn't big but definitely enough things to do for 2D1N. There are bball court, table tennis, billard, majong, snorkelling, all for free. And of course the small but nice swimming pool. Water sports and paintball also available, and I think it is quite afforable. Any Bros interested can pm me for the price.

Had lunch at the only restaurant there. The food isn't that expensive but the service charge and GST is insane. Had the pool by ourselves for the afternoon since it was a weekday. Went back took a nap, and woke up around 6pm and saw the sunset. Very scenic indeed. Saw the bar by the sea is filled with people, wonder where they came from.

Ate dinner and went to the bar to chill. The bar is really really nice. Ordered 2 cocktail (around $10 for 1), drank and chill. Next morning, took a swim again and had bf. Bf spread was definitely good enough for me. Checked out at 12 and went back Nagoya. They actually allows free late check-out till 6pm! Really surprised.

Stayed at Vanilla Hotel and the Starlight sky bar is really nice with live band playing through the night. Anothr good place to chill with your girl. :)

Its always good to have hotels that offer good lower priced in-hotel,in-room massage but thats not easy to find (above isnt).

*sometime answer/s to some certain questions is just about a page or even 2 pages away (or maybe page 1? or my signature?) from where the question/s were being asked ,hehehe... :D

The list might be old, but it is still relevant. Sure, some may have changed names, or one or two new ones have popped up, but they are still more or less in the same area.

thanks bro!!! appreciated!!! the rates are still about the same?

Hmm...most hotels doesnt have lower priced in-hotel,in-room massage,hehehe...this my definition of "quite expensive". ;)

https://img2.uploadhouse.com/fileuploads/26379/26379602e3e54b18499d5a660e2af1e1579bc906.jpg

i guess the * is for "to-whom-it-may-concern",hehehe...

So zest now have in room. U tried before?

Hi everyone. First, I like to acknowledge contributors here for their valuable input especially to Nono1973 - his gave so much detail and very well written. I really appreciate it.

First time writing here. Having fun in Batam used to be my favourite pastime. I would take the last ferry in the night to Batam and reach there like 10 pm. My friend and I would party all night and take the early ferry back the next day and proceed to work straight away upon reaching Singapore. Our favourite hunting places were Planet Ozon and Pacific Disco. Hotel Pelangi is the Hotel we frequent. I am now missing those party days and decide to check this thread out. The exchange rate was like 6000 to 1 at that time. Batam was very undeveloped during then. Travelling in the night could be scary for many. Their taxi was under no companies and very beat up. Drivers act like gangsters and speeding away like demons on the road waiting for the accident to happen. Often we get into arguments because they were demanding for more fare. No meters in the taxi. We preferred booking cewek in disco since we reached Batam late. Paid between 250,000 to 280,000 for FT. Only 100,000 in the wee morning if you are lucky. Of course, I don't mean now but 15 years ago.

I would like to visit Batam again. The place must have changed a lot I presumed. Maybe culture as well. Pricing definitely. Could the active cheongsters assist me with these questions? They are:

1. How many ferry terminals are there in Batam now a days. Which is the right one to go from Singapore?

2. Is it cheaper to exchange money in Batam or Singapore. Where is a good place to do the exchange in Batam?

3. Where is the best discotheque to go for loud techno music in Batam now? Do Planet Ozon and Pacific still exist?

4. Which discotheque and other joints got high-quality cewek, freelance ones are fine too because I do like to be adventurous. Previously, I like to visit places where the locals go and those for the tourist.

5. Most people I met before cannot speak English. I wonder if its the same now? I am referring to Taxi drivers, Cewek, Waiters etc,

6. Do taxi use meters nowadays? Any Grabs etc?

7. Is google map in Batam useful and accurate? Is Batam still underdeveloped?

8. What is the rate for freelance Cewek now?

Your assistances would be very much appreciated. Maybe we can cheong together too.

Bro Nono is the guru for anything on Batam.

There are several ferry terminals for trip to Batam: Batam Centre, Habour Bay, Sekupang, Nongsapura among others. The first two FTs are more popular. Batam is pretty well developed these days to serve our tourists. It is easy to change S$ to IDR in Batam and the money changers at the Ferry Terminals and shops in Batam Centre and Nagoya offer good rates. Taxi still do not use meter in Batam, it is generally 50k up per short trip but GoJek like Grab is available for cheaper travels. Google maps are good and useful. You can pick up ceweks for ST/LT anywhere in joints (Havanna, MM, Sri Kandy, Bunga...), disco, bars, MP or even using WeChat. The prices ranges from 400k/800k upwards for ST/LT. If booking using WeChat, exercise due diligence to ensure what you see is what you get by using Video Call if possible, locked all assets in safe, meet in lobby and do not pay first before service as WeChat girls are known to cheat and run after a shot but you can get gems if lucky. Enjoy and Cheers.

So just to share on my recent weekend trip. Took the 4.50pm ferry to batam centre. The number of people on the ferry already gave me a sense of foreboding, which came true when I reached batam centre ferry terminal.

The place was packed because of some Indonesian National Day event, so it took us 20 to 30 mins just to exit the terminal. Upon reaching the Davienna, decided to drop by Citywalk for hair cut at V Salon BUT it was closed! Wasted walk to Citywalk, and can't be bothered to walk back, so took go-car back to hotel. Hahah

Went back to Citywalk the next day, and got my haircut. My review is, cut seems rushed even though only 1 or 2 customers. And wasn't very happy cos she made me look like some Mat. Hahah but ok lah for a 75k job. The girl wise, maybe I went wrong timing or day, but not as appetizing to see as other ppl here described.

Oh, and liquor sold at Citywalk is cheaper than the ones at the mall. Guess that might be obvious to some, but just fyi if you are looking around.

I would like to visit Batam again. The place must have changed a lot I presumed. Maybe culture as well. Pricing definitely. Could the active cheongsters assist me with these questions? They are:

1. How many ferry terminals are there in Batam now a days. Which is the right one to go from Singapore?

Below are the ferry terminals for most who travel from Singapore to Batam and vice versa.

Map below taken from page 1 of this thread

Batu Ampar = Harbour Bay Ferry Terminal
http://img6.uploadhouse.com/fileuploads/21979/21979176d4dc1534b78910faff0a2a199eb96697.jpg

They are Batam Center ferry terminals, Waterfront City, Sekupang ,Nongsa and Harbour Bay. It really depends on which part of Batam you wish to visit most. Most cheonging places were in the Nagoya area,so if you are into cheonging, then Harbour Bay is the closest and the next nearest port would be the Batam Center port.

*as the distance is differs, taxi charges will be different too,eg from Harbour Bay to Nagoya, its now at 30k rupiah, from Batam Center to Nagoya,it could cost between 70k rupiah to 100k rupiah. The rest of others could varies between 100k to 200k rupiah. And i am talking about pirated taxis, not grab nor Go Car or those Taxi companies running on meter. i use the hotel's free pickup/drop off service.

2. Is it cheaper to exchange money in Batam or Singapore. Where is a good place to do the exchange in Batam?

Ferry terminal area, air port and tourist infested area are places where the exchange do not favor travelers coming from Singapore.

Any place in city area with 3 or more money changer near to each other were better choice. Ask around at least 3 money changer shops for the best rate ,go for the one that offers the best. Below link should help advise you if you should change in Singapore or Batam.

https://sbf.net.nz/showpost.php?p=6941975&postcount=16451

3. Where is the best discotheque to go for loud techno music in Batam now? Do Planet Ozon and Pacific still exist?

Most recent FR for some discos and pubs in Batam :

https://sbf.net.nz/showpost.php?p=17556036&postcount=11112

4. Which discotheque and other joints got high-quality cewek, freelance ones are fine too because I do like to be adventurous. Previously, I like to visit places where the locals go and those for the tourist.

This is a pretty tricky question which i do not know how to answer. Becos when it comes to HIGH QUALITY cewek,i would read it as pure breed Indo Chinese,PRCs, Vietnamese or very very young Indo girls. They are rare and expensive. Locals dont usually go for them.

You may wish to disco-hop or pub-hop to look around. Freelancers are not so common nowaday, most girls has a papi or mami somewhere around, even in discotheque, wechats and pubs too.

5. Most people I met before cannot speak English. I wonder if its the same now? I am referring to Taxi drivers, Cewek, Waiters etc,

Today, most Indos in Batam tourist area can speak some level of basic broken English. Other than that, there's still google translate,hehehe... A sim card with some data cost about 50k rupiah. I have not come across any hotel that doesnt have free wifi in Batam...yet,hehehe....

6. Do taxi use meters nowadays? Any Grabs etc?

Silver Cab and Bluebird were the only 2 taxi companies i knew that metered their fare. Grab and Go Car are available in Batam but there are limitation where these taxi companies can pick up and drop off their customers. Same applies for Silver cab and Bluebird taxis.

There were cases where passengers being harassed using Grab/Go Car/Silver cab/Bluebird and its respective driver/s being beaten up for picking/dropping customer at non-permissive places.

More on Batam's transportation :

https://sbf.net.nz/showpost.php?p=15714030&postcount=6166

7. Is google map in Batam useful and accurate? Is Batam still underdeveloped?

Batam is more developed as compare to itself 20 years ago,but it is still has the 20 over years ago Singapore feel,hehehe...

Google map is useful and is updated on an average of once a year, usually between Jan to March.

8. What is the rate for freelance Cewek now?

As mentioned earlier, freelancers arent so much a common sight. Most working girls in Batam, has a boss somewhere. According to the info i collected, rate for Wechat and other online possibilities for short time,1 shot cost between 400k to 1.2 juta rupiah. Long time (usually 2 shots) 1 juta and onward (highest i have seen is 2.5 juta).

Booking joint girls usually cost between 700k to 1.8 juta rupiah for overnight aka long time with 3 shots and short time with 1 shot cost about 500k rupiah, with occasionally 400k rupiah.

Discotheques and Pubs short time is about 400k to 500k rupiah. Long time cost about 1juta to 2 juta with 2 to 3 shots depending on chemistry.

KTVs short time were usually 500k to 600k rupiah for short time and their long time is minimum 1.6 juta rupiah and could go as high as 3 juta. Non-indos usually starts from 2.5 juta onward for long time.

Massage parlor short time usually between 300k rupiah to 500k rupiah. Long time depends on chemistry and could cost as high as 3juta and as low as 1 juta,hehehe...

Prices quoted above were just a rough estimation. i have seen long time (overnight) for 2 girls as low as 1 juta before and bros here paying as high as 5 juta for one girl too (even 100k per pop). But those werent the price that one would get to see in an everyday scene, hence i didnt add those into consideration.

Most other information would be on the below link :

https://sbf.net.nz/showthread.php?p=14125823#post14125823

* i am guessing i have also replied to those who PM-ed me as i made this post, hence i am not replying those PMs whereby answers can be found here. My apologize.

** Havent heard of indo girls going back to hometown during Haji before.

Cheers!

By all means, if I give a recommendation to a friend. then I recommend to go to HARBOUR BAY and ONLY TO HARBOUR BAY if he plans to stay in Nagoya.
Any small saving on the ticket fare is NOT worth the additional hassle, the time to move from Batam Center to Nagoya and back.
My advice for a friend.

Good advice, for newbies to Batam.

I usually travel alone, and stay in Nagoya. Paying almost half of the ticket fare ($26 to BC vs $48 to HBB) and 15k gojek fare is substantial savings. The 15 min gojek ride from BC to Nagoya is not much longer than the 5-7 mins ride from HBB to Nagoya too.

But, your post is spot on. For those who prefer less hassle (trying to get gojek to pick you up at BC is definitely a no-no, but I usually get my gojek ride at the mini garden opposite Harris Hotel at gojek rate and even without firing up my gojek app) and don't travel to Batam as frequently as some of the forummers here (frequently = 2-3 times per month or more), taking Horizon Ferry to HBB is the much preferred route, albeit much much more expensive.

We travel to Batam once a month, always take the BC route as the $32 return ticket can make up the difference in transport cost. We stop at BCC/Eatern Food Court for our meals before going to Nagoya. Food and shopping around BCC/Penuin Market is great. Nagoya is the preferred place for entertainment. To each his own. Cheers.

Bro MM, can share ur lobang for $26 ferry ticket?
Good price lah..

I dont mean taxi touting has completely stop but at least the frequency is now much lesser in Harbour Bay,hehehe...good news for tourists (projecting a better and cleaner image). No need to be constantly "pestered" by them. :p

good to hear that taxi touts have reduced and it's so convenient to get a 30k taxi from that small counter desk.

Is it just today or is the current situation in Batam now?

Where I'm now, due to Haji, even GoFood delivery cost is increased due to Haji celebration, less riders working. Even today, scooting around searching for breakfast took us almost half hour..

But, your post is spot on. For those who prefer less hassle (trying to get gojek to pick you up at BC is definitely a no-no, but I usually get my gojek ride at the mini garden opposite Harris Hotel at gojek rate and even without firing up my gojek app)
I add that I travel to Batam with a 25-kg bag plus computer bag also loaded of papers. That's why I take a taxi from HB to Formosa and not an ojek.

We travel to Batam once a month, always take the BC route as the $32 return ticket can make up the difference in transport cost.
To each his own. Cheers.
Again, the point is the hassle and the value we give to time. Each of us may give a different value to time versus pocket money. That's why I pointed out "if I give a recommendation to a friend". For me, no way those 10 SGD could justify the hassle and time to pass via HC.

By all means, if I give a recommendation to a friend. then I recommend to go to HARBOUR BAY and ONLY TO HARBOUR BAY if he plans to stay in Nagoya.

Hehehe...i have tried going via Batam center ferry terminal to Formosa twice (or was it thrice? cant really remember). I did some calculation of my own,the moment i step out of the ferry itself upon reaching Batam, to the moment i reach Formosa, it took more than an hour on a weekday and nearly 2 hours on a weekend (according to some of my friends, even longer sometime during a super long weekend),hehehe....i doubt you are going to like that kind of waiting.

As for Harbour Bay,the moment i step out of ferry at Harbor Bay ferry terminal to the moment i reach the same hotel mentioned, took me no more than 20mins on weekdays and about 30mins on weekend,hehehe...and that bothers me a bit. During CNY time, took me about 30 mins plus minus too.

And i havent count the time i return back from Batam to Singapore,hehehe... :D

Any small saving on the ticket fare is NOT worth the additional hassle, the time to move from Batam Center to Nagoya and back.

I look at the whole picture from another perspective. If my ferry ticket to Batam via Harbor Bay and Batam Center is the SAME,be it going to Batam once a month,or 3 to 4 times a month which ferry terminal would i choose to drop myself off,hehehe...the answer is obvious.

Which is one of the true reason why i would pick Harbor Bay ferry terminal instead of Batam center ferry terminal to drop myself.

My choice. ;)

No disrespect, but I rarely take more than half an hour to reach Nagoya from BC. Even once few months ago where I had to take gojek outside Telkomsel building, it took me only half to reach my regular hotel.

But, I can't say the same experience applies to all.

Sorry, no lobang on bike rental, but just a casual warning. I recently had the experience of riding a bike (and driving a car) on Indonesia. I don't know your biking experience, but it was horrifying for me. LOL.. I was told to drive in opposite direction, not to make u turn where it's allowed and to make u turn where it's not allowed. Definitely cheaper to travel via Batam Center than to Harbor Bay (no doubt on that). My question to all; "if" traveling from Singapore via Batam Center is S$26 or S$32 as previously mentioned, and "what if" the same pricing applies to Harbor Bay, which ferry terminal would you more likely choose to drop yourself off at? (given that your final destination would be Nagoya area) ;)

I am just looking at things from another angle of view after reading the last page 773,hehehe... (i know,i know, people will say "this kind of thing will never happen, blah blah blah...",which is why i am saying "what if",hehehe...)

BC is preferred because of its efficient immigration and custom clearance. It is 30 minutes taxi from there to Eatern Food Court for our favourite Yam Fish Head Soup and Bak kut Teh costing 70k. Will try Gocar from Gojek for half price travel if possible. From Eatern to Nagoya is another 15 minutes at 50k taxi. For younger travellers, HB is obviously the preferred choice without question. Like miumiu, our group prefers BC. Cheers.

At HB I never waited more then 15 minutes for immigration. Usually it takes 5-10 minutes. Indonesians have a long queue, not foreigners.
After that, 2-3 minutes to reach Horizon office, 3 minutes to get my boarding pass for the return (never saw queue for that), then straight to taxi.
After 10 minutes I triumphally enter Formosa for checkin.
Btw, I am 50+ yo. Yes, I don't eat Yam Fish Head Soup, and that's the minus.

Definitely cheaper to travel via Batam Center than to Harbor Bay (no doubt on that)
Swimming is even cheaper, if one has enough time. No way I could consider the extra time and HASSLE to enter via BC worth a saving of 10 SGD. But, again, different people may give different value to time versus pocket money. To each his own.

Fully agreed with Bro nightcrawllerr.
Budget cheongster like us go to Batam instead of the more pricey Vietnam, Thailand, China and Taiwan.
Haha, the saving is not S$10 but $16 for each member or a total saving of $16x3 or $16x4 for our whole group for a trip with average transport cost of about 70k per member.
A most enjoyable trip indeed that is cheap and good, revitalises and refreshes us every month.

actualli it's quite true tat HB is faster, even fery aso take a shorter time, clear custom aso faster (no 4get btm ctr custom will kick ppl back 2 sg if tourist make too much noise when in Q + usualli most major protest happens @ BC) & traveling time aso faster 2,tis i not doubts abt it.

i dont argue with all the lay-down facts (holding an actual Batam map and knowing the number of ferry companies servicing Batam center and those at Harbour Bay) for the sake of winning,hehehe...and you are right, for both ferry terminal, cost is almost the same to me. Which is one reason why i chose to alight at Harbour Bay. Hehehe...not forgetting,i add my hotel free pick-up service in it too.

And which is also why i ask that earlier presumption question, if ALL COST is the same for the 2 ferry terminals, will YOU go by Batam center or Harbour Bay?

Ultimately, it still boils down to individual traveling habits. Long long time ago, according to what i have read, older generations of Batam travelers alighted via a ferry terminal called Batu Ampar? ;)

Batamfast Online
https://pixator.org/images/2018/08/25/b8.jpg

Above was tabulated from the Batamfast online ferry ticket purchase system (all tax inclusive),hehehe...weird timing to go and leave Batam tho,but still...its fine for me since the destination would be via Harbour Bay.

And below is the promo they have for Senior Citizen,hehehe...i think after everything in,it would cost around S$32 plus minus (all ferry terminals).

https://pixator.org/images/2018/08/25/b9.jpg

...and i saw one here from Majestic Fast Ferry, but not going Harbour Bay.

https://pixator.org/images/2018/08/25/a1.jpg

Gives me the impression, these ferry companies are fighting for senior citizen business,hehehe... :p

Not so sure about Sindo Ferry, i saw their ongoing NTUC Silver card's S$10 off promo tho. The rest of the other cards like NTUC card,Passion card and MDIS card gives a $5 off for 2 way ticket, and finally...their senior citizen promo,hehehe... (but you will need a Passion Silver card) Adds up to be around S$32 plus minus tho.

https://pixator.org/images/2018/08/25/a2c8035.jpg

* Above were just notes for my future Batam reference and analysis. ;)

** Sindo and Majestic dont go Harbour Bay.

I am sure nobody will jump on me if I will express openly what I am thinking.

I am astonished to see so many posts here, such a hot debate and discussion, travel budgets compared to the single dollar plus or minus, so much attention and care to save 10 SGD by people who few hours later goes to book a girl (and spends 80-200 SGD), goes to KTV (and spends 30-300 SGD), etc. etc. etc.
Penny wise lah :D

25kilo of computers & PAPERS? i imagine is tis in yr luggage bag lei...lol...tat's y u no wan take risk & use taxi....lol (joke joke onli)
I don't fly from my country to Batam for a weekend, but I add Batam after some business trip to KL. I stay out for 10 days. I have my papers to work daytime, wating the fun of night time.

S$10 or US$13.60cts may seems meagre to one who monger few times in a year. But RP100k or M$30 to an average Indon or Msian is a substantial amt to those who cheong regularly like weekly, fortnightly or mthly.
First, S$10 is US$7,30. You reversed the ratio.
Second, I understand your point, but the average Indon or Msian does not go to book girls at Bunga or goes to KTV regularly. The regular cheongster spends quite a bit, even opting for the cheapest options in Batam.
I am saying: if I am going to spend $S200 for my weekend in Batam (not much, including girls and hotel and food), S$10 is just 5%.

However, again, we are all different. Time has a value, but not the same different for everyone.
One can take a taxi from Harbout Bay to Nagoya (30k-50k), another may prefer to walk out and find an ojek for 10k, another may prefer to walk out and wait a bus (2k?).
The last guy may even think he's she smartest above all, because he's spending 1/10 or 1/20 of others, but it depends on how much time and hassle we wish to spend. And if he goes to Batam every week, his total saving in one year will be on the order of 1 or 2 millions rupiah. Cumulating expenses gives amazing results.

PS: I am not a rich money waster.
I walk back to Formosa from Newton, or I take ojek, and I do my best to avoid the taxi, even insisting with the girl(s) who want a taxi.
I stay in Formosa and not in Harmoni, because with the money I save I have an excellent seafood dinner.

$10 is 106000rp which I can use to buy 3 bottles of perfume, which in turn can make 3 ceweks very and give me very good service. Very good return for just $10 saved a trip. For those that go Batam regularly, it's extraordinary return.

Edit: this, thanks to bro NoNo for this tip. I saw it right in front of my eyes how the girls go crazy when given then perfume, albeit it's fake.

I disagree also that it takes 1hr to get to Nagoya from BC terminal. I been to BC 10+ times and all the weekdays I went, it took me less than 40 mins to reach my hotel from the time I alight from ferry. The price I pay from the terminal to Nagoya is at most 30-40k.

Can't believe it that there're ppl still trying to argue just to win here.

I have been through btm ctr ferry countless times over my years of traveling to btm, average time from alighting from ferry & later to my hotel usually cost abt an hour if not more. Crazily long if it's p.holiday eve's LWE,worst time is during cny, anytime can cross the 2 hour mark.

i dont argue with all the lay-down facts (holding an actual Batam map and knowing the number of ferry companies servicing Batam center and those at Harbour Bay) for the sake of winning,hehehe...and you are right, for both ferry terminal, cost is almost the same to me. Which is one reason why i chose to alight at Harbour Bay. Hehehe...not forgetting,i add my hotel free pick-up service in it too.

I think there are lesser ferry companies, therefore lesser passengers coming in from btm ctr as compared to h.bay.

I think distance from hbf to btm ctr is shorter as compare from hbf to h.bay.

I think immigration custom officers in btm ctr works more efficient than in those in h.bay.

I think getting lower priced taxi is more easily & faster in btm ctr as compared to h.bay.

I think the traveling distance is shorter from btm ctr to nagoya as compared to h.bay to nagoya.

Having said the above, I think the moon in btm tonite is square too. :D

Bro nono, I swear by this Chilli. I chanced by this when I was buying tidbits here and the owner gave me some to eat with the tidbits. The owner also said it can be used with food. Everytime I eat noodles or rice and I need something spicy, I'll get one packet and eat with it. I already bought 100 packets of it during my trip here!

err...bro,try not to quote my whole post, high chance it might get removed. I believe you are only referring to the S$1 chili sauce, not the KFC sauce,hehehe...try to edit it if possible. Thanks, bro.

Actually,i dont take spicy stuffs and rarely consume chili sauce in Batam. Whenever i saw such opportunities, it means a buy (from Batam) and sell (in Singapore) opportunities for me,hehehe... :p

The 10-pieces sambal chili has another cheaper brand of the same version which i havent buy yet tho. I think the brand is something like ABC... :D

Yea,thats the one,ABC Asli something....hehehe...

Sincerely thank you for this feedback info, bro. My relatives actually find the Weg brand a bit too spicy, maybe next trip i go get the ABC brand for them to test out. I should have buy both brands for them to try out in my last trip since its not expensive,hehehe... i bought quite a lot of Luwak black coffee in my last trip tho. :D

thanks to bro NoNo for this tip. I saw it right in front of my eyes how the girls go crazy when given then perfume, albeit it's fake.

Erm...3 bottles for 100k rupiah to make 3 different nice girls happy,i dont see how i can lose out on that. Price has gone up to 120k rupiah since last year already. (the smaller bottles still cost 100k rupiah tho) More like cute stuffs were most girl's weakness,hehehe...

Wait till you tried the chili sauce trick,hehehe...the girls will start asking you for cup noodles ,so they can start mixing the above mentioned chili sauce into the "their" noodles,hehehe...i saved one meal from them, even 2 or 3 at times too. :D

Notice why in all my Batam trips, there will surely be cup noodles in my so called combat ration? Hehehe... :D

$10 is 106000rp which I can use to buy 3 bottles of perfume, which in turn can make 3 ceweks very and give me very good service. Very good return for just $10 saved a trip. For those that go Batam regularly, it's extraordinary return.
There must be someone who takes a bus from BC to Nagoya, not a taxi. It's a S$5 additional saving, which can turn out in more perfumes (albeit not from Chanel).
For weekly travelers to Batam, over one year it is S$250!
PS: how much do those 3 cewek cost in total?

I don like going Batam on Sunday,,, reach Batam custom,, lonnngggg que !!Basically, going to Batam on Weekend, you need to face to huge crowd !! First, S$10 is US$7,30. You reversed the ratio.

I stay in Formosa and not in Harmoni, because with the money I save I have an excellent seafood dinner.

Yes. Should be US$7.30 or S$10. Sounds like not worth the savings right? But if is M$30 or S$10 tats substantial for one whos regular monger in Btm.

Aaaah....now u get it. Tats my point. See, regulars dont just look at the area of transportation like ojek and taxi. We also try to save on other areas too like accomodation and boking. Those who cheong few times in a year may not take the trouble and just walkin. They may just bok cewek and cant bother to bargain. Afterall only cheong few times in a year. Can afford to spent beyond market rate. But for regulars they look to alternative like boking thru KAHA etc. Believe me i can actually save up to 150-200K (if memory serves me right) Rp a nite thru KAHA depending which hotel. Cewek i will bargain all the way. Nothing to lose but may gain.

So by saving here and there, and like u, u manage to have a sumptuous dinner. For regulars, savings fm transportation (ferry/taxi), accomodation etc can add more cheonging trips to btm. S$10 may seems little but sedikit sedikit boleh jadi bukit.:D

Haha, the saving is not S$10 but $16 for each member or a total saving of $16x3 or $16x4 for our whole group for a trip with average transport cost of about 70k per member.
A most enjoyable trip indeed that is cheap and good, revitalises and refreshes us every month.

If travel in group lagi save, especially in transportation and meal.:D

sedikit sedikit boleh jadi bukit.:D

Long time never hear this phrase. I actually learnt this phrase from TV when MediaCorp is still SBC.

Precisely, save here and there and slowly we can add more trips to "fantasy island", except that I'm now happily settled down in another town in Indonesia and won't be going Batam anytime soon.

Savings Per Trip for my case:

Ferry: easily 200k rp or more

Hotel: I book from Agoda which gives me much better rate plus gift cards as rebate, easily 60k (more if compared to Formosa which I used to stay and still hold their Silver member's card, maybe 250k)

Taxi: Max 20k per trip, savings of 80k per 2D1N trip avg, though most of the time I use gojek, instead of gocar.

Booking cewe: I don't book ceweks since the mid of last year. Rather, I've been getting short time FL and pay avg 300k - 500k, these are girls in their early 20s, with the youngest being 19 years old. Those who know me, know that I only go for young pretty ceweks, and these usually cost 1 juta above, usually 1.5 juta discounted to 1.2 juta. At my age, I don't go for 4/5/6/7 shots, so max, 600k - 800k per 2D1N trip. Compared to booking prices in Batam, savings of minimum 200k.

Food: usually 50-70k per meal. Savings? Well, my avg bill at Hai O is about 180k and this is eating alone (yes, I can eat a lot, even the waitress even asked if I can finish the food when taking my order), let's put it at 100k savings.

So, per 2D1N trip, my savings is already 540k, this is enough to pay for 2 return ferry tickets for me. And, I'm being conservative with the numbers. Small money? Given that we don't spend more than $300 per 2D1N trip, $54 is nearly 1/5 of $300. Best of all, I don't feel any hassle at all. :-)

We are on holiday when in Batam. Just take things easily and leisurely. Everyone puts a value on time, but what is another 30 mins spent when taking a leisurely ride on the motor or mini bus through the streets of Batam. Of course, for Black Page's case, it's different as he's lugging 25 kg with of luggage. But, the average bro who visit Batam for cewe only bring along a haversack with perhaps few pieces of clothing. Even when I'm bringing my Surface Pro plus 2-3 days clothing, I don't find it difficult taking gojek. What hassle?

On the point of immigration officers, everyone has been complaining about BC immigration officers (and even those at Balai) but the only time that I ever encountered corrupted immigration officer is at HarbourBay. It's my fault though that I gave them the opportunity to extract money from me. Cost me $30 SGD to get my exit chop. So, only problematic immigration officers at Batam Center? My experience tells me otherwise. And with average 4-6 trips per month, I guess I stand a higher chance than most (probably 70%) on this forum of running into problematic immigration officers at BC, but I didn't.

My 2,000 rupiahs.

My first FR in this thread. I would like it to be detailed as possible after appreciating the long FRs some bros put up here. I'll split it up to two part, first and second day.

Last Friday, decided to go to batam to de-stress and got inspiration from Oscar Bro.

Booked a 10.45 Horizon ferry to Harbour bay. Paid 48 dollars. When I cleared singapore immigration, I was shocked. It was so crowded till there was no seats left and there were alot of ppl standing as well. There was a big group of Korean guys as well.

Thankfully, a majority of this group was getting on board the Batamfast ferry to batam centre. The horizon ferry that I was on half filled. Reached harborbay under 45 mins. Immediately went to the provision shop near the exit of the terminal and stocked up (Bro nono's advice). While I was in the provision shop, it started to pour. The rain was so bad that water from the road started moving into the terminal. Eventually, got a cab for 30k and my bottom half got soaking wet from the flooding.

Reached my hotel in no time. I decided to stay in an expensive hotel because I had 200 dollars worth of agoda points to clear. Topped up only 10 dollar for a deluxe room. However, only non-smoking rooms were available. It was pouring outside and I didn't have anything to do to kill time. I decided to take up on the non-smoking room.

Once I got into the room, settled down and then immediately when on Tan Tan. The app is like tinder. Swipe left swipe right. The app also gives you distance on how far the girl is. Once I saw the girls I liked and nearby, I swiped right. After 15 mins of swapping, I got 10 matches.

The thing how this app work is that you need to chat with them although you get a match. Very rare they will chat up with you. As I know the language, it was a plus point. Chatted with about 4 simultaneously, asking all the important questions. As I didn't have plans to go out and wanted to stay in the room for that day, I decided to get a booking. Got this 23 year old palembang girl who does this full time. She initially quoted 1.2 million. I told her that I'm a regular here and have never paid more than 900k for a booking. Nego Nego, assuring her that I'll settle her dinner, cab fare back and good tips if the service was good, we settled for 900k. Told her to come at 4pm as I wanted to get a legit massage. In the meantime, I got her to send me a couple of full bodied photos and a video as well. She obliged and sent me. She kept asking for assurance that I won't cancel on her.

When she arrived at 5pm, she messaged me to pick her up from the lobby as a key card was needed to get up to the room (negative point for the hotel). Went down, saw her and she looked as good as the photos and videos she was sending me. Went up with me and she immediately realised that it was a non-smoking room. She immediately called up reception and asked for a change of room to a smoking one. This was done by her without me asking. Wow.

Within 15 minutes, we got into our new smoking room. She saw that I had a bottle of whisky with me and asked me if I wanted a drink. She called room service for ice and started to drink. It was a very GFE experience. Massaged my shoulders while we chatted and then she showered and enticed me to the bed where we had our first round. There was a lot of foreplay before the actual FJ.

After the first round, it was 8pm. Ordered gojek delivery as the hotel food was ridiculously expensive. She used my phone and did the ordering which came up to 110k. Had Soto ayam, Bakso, meatballs, gado gado.

After finishing up dinner, we continued drinking and chatting away as both of us could speak the language. She shared a lot of things regarding the freelance world in batam which I will dedicate in another post. Drank and chatted till 12 midnight. Had our second round, started in the toilet and then finished off on the bed. By then, it was one plus and she fell asleep. She woke me up at 6am and asked if I wanted another. As I was still hungover and tired, I told her to go back. Tipped her 300k because she really deserved it and she kissed me goodbye.

End of part 1.

You can take a walk to booking joints, Happy8, Havanna, MM, Sri Kandy, Bunga,... etc. from Da Vienna. Overnight rates are 1juta upwards. You can try social media like WeChat, Tantan, ....,etc. for online booking, rates are 400k/800k upwards for ST/LT, but need exercising due diligence on safety of your assets. Just cross the road from Da Vienna to Windsor Food Court with your ceweks for dinner and beer. Cheers and enjoy.

First trip and you don't bother to do your homework? And, even want to venture around without taxi?

Do yourself a favor and book a cab for your trip. You save a lot of time hunting for the joints. Just take it as paying tuition fee.

It is not too difficult if you use the excellent map supplied by Bro Nono1973 in his Guide to Batam together with Google Map. Remember to get a SIM Card before starting on the tour, otherwise you can also download the offline map of Batam first, either at home or at Da Vienna Hotel. If we are not in a hurry taking angkor can be fun and cost saving too. But of course be alert of pick pockets.

Every time I go Batam when stay in Formosa I will always take a 10 min short walk from harbour bay ferry terminal to Jalan Raja Ali which is the main road infront of bank BCA. (quite near planet holiday hotel).

Along that stretch of road, there are many angkot (mini van) which you can take to nagoya hill shopping centre at 3000 rupiah only nia. Upon reach, just need to cross the street and walk slightly to reach formosa. Everytime I go, no issue getting an angkot as there are plenty and many of them will pass by nagoya hill. My saving is 60000-3000=57,000 rupiah.

When going back to habourbay then no need to cross the road just take the angkot infront of bridge massage to opposite bank BCA (3000 rp) or some angkot driver can even send you to harbour bay terminal outside. (maybe 5000 rp)

I seldom book taxi unless I am in a rush or raining heavily. It is good to walk by foot to explore and know the way in case there is no taxi, you will still be able to get back to the ferry terminal yourself.

Nagoya city is rather small, about 1km radius taking Formosa as the centre of the radius.

Northwest of formosa is habourbay/jodoh/pacific/atalanta spa.
North of formosa is NED or kampung bule/macdonald/KFC/goldbird
Northeast of formosa is trinity/the hills/seruni hotel
West of formosa is citywalk/newton disco
East of formosa is Nagoya hill shopping mall
South of formosa is windsor/BCS mall/penuin area
Southwest of formosa is DCmall/massage joints/utama hotel

Booking supir to hunt for cewek is not necessary as all the booking joint can be found in the map provided by nono and further more can avoid supir taking commission from joint. Take a one way taxi from point A to B with negotiation is the best option. Upon confirm the girl you want, you may give 20k for her to take ojek to your hotel room at your desire time.

Conclusion: If you make a habit to walk by foot or take angkot, you can save much more than taking ojek and taxi. The saving can be used for better food and more massage :)

Don't complain for the sauce tax. Did I ever tell you about my battle about tissue and nuts against Singapore waitresses every time I go to eat there?

Singapore is the only country in my experience, where I find myself charged $0.50 for a tissue and $2 for nuts, without being asked first. I perceive it as a kind of tax.
I don't want nuts, and I believe a restaurant should include a tissue as a basic service, as chopsticks or a fork.

Since I am fucking (take it literally) stingy one, I send back the nuts, I exige they remove the $2 from my final bill (they often try to leave it), and I go to washrooms to take 10 meters of toilet papers to clean my hands after the chilly crab. Charging $0.50 for a tissue someone who is paying $50-$100 is uncalled for.

My friend, or bro, or hobby colleague, don't take it wrongly. I didn't want to be sarcastic against you, but as a way to make a bit of fun out of a discussion among ourselves. Sorry if you felt offended. It was not my intention. I respect you.

About the discussion, once again, I was just pointing out that saving 5 dollars over a total expenditure of hundreds (typical for the majority who go to Batam for a weekend) is like to begin cutting nails as a first step for a fat man who wants to lose weight. Marginal saving.
(As you read below, I save $2,50 over my bill at Singapore seafood restaurants. I can be more stingy as you may expect:))

A regular monger in BTM, even the most savvy spender, easily leaves thousands SGD in Batam in one year... Say minimum 200$ in a weekend.
I was pointing out the difference between an absolute saving (amount in SGD) and a relative saving (% over the total expenditure).

By the way, given your logic, staying in Singapore and masturbate would be the ideal way of achieving sexual satisfaction since one get to save the entire trip expense and don't even have to go through the "hassle" of boarding a ferry to an island 45 mins away from home. :-p

My first FR in this thread. I would like it to be detailed as possible after appreciating the long FRs some bros put up here. I'll split it up to two part, first and second day.

Last Friday, decided to go to batam to de-stress and got inspiration from Oscar Bro.

End of part 1.

Glad you enjoyed your trip. Happy you found a girl from TanTan. Didn't know there are FLs there..

Awaiting for part 2,hehehe.... :D

So now you know the man behind the perfume and y he alway buy alot :p

In the old days, there are people who used to say, S$0.10 buy 3 sweets to bluff little girl,i simply put those words in good humble action,hehehe...using 100k rupiah, buy 3 perfumes to bluff nice sweet girls,hehehe... :D

Much often,i leave some pretty good impression/s for the girls,hehehe... (as much as i said that, i also leave behind some no-good impression too,eg. i am stingy, everything they wish to buy also cannot,i dont go shopping at Nagoya hill mall etc etc..)

I know that there is a lot of very experienced seniors that is familiar with cheonging in Batam and would appreciate the valuable info. Thanks in advance for the info that may follow and your effort is deeply appreciated.:D

End of part 1.

Interested to know part 2. Might make an impulse trip to batam since dfs gave me free ferry ticket to batam for 2

We do have communication problems. When did I express I like such a logic?

My logic is, if one plans to spend 500, he should not waste time to save 1, unless that time for him is less precious than 1 dollar. It's matter of being time-effective. A management principle. I suggest a friend to focus on important aspects first, not on minor details.

For me, I would never pass via BC, unless it would allow me to save 100 dollars or more, but I understand I value my time more than others. Others find smart to save 5 dollars doing that, and that's fine for them, since they have plenty of time. I take a bus from KL to SIN, not a flight, but the saving is $200, not 2. In KL, I take a taxi and I don't walk to the bus station, because I would save just 5. Should I care of those 5? I don't, because it's <1% of what I am going to spend in Batam.

I spend say S$1000-1500 in one full week in Batam, but I stay in Formosa instead of Harmoni as most bule do, and I take my girls from disco and not from booking joints.

Doing that, I can have 2 SYT girls spending what others pay to Bunga for booking, if I have energy, and with what I save on the hotel I eat seafood for 3 every night (alone or with girls). I stopped booking girls a long time ago. I do care about saving money, but I try to be wise on main expenses before smallest ones.

No quarrel about your reasoning.

As mentioned previously, our group of retirees has all the time in the world and the saving is not peanuts but quite substantial ($16 out of $48), especially multiple by a factor of 3 or 4. The transport cost is also shared. Also, we divert for our lunch on the way to hotel. We are happy with our routing. To each, his own. Cheers.

Actually, from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to BC is much faster than HBF to BC. Ferry trip takes only 35 mins. No joke. But, only 4 (or 5 trips) per day.

oh,i didn't knw tat....thx u 4 sharin,i learned smthg today.

but i tink aso immpossible frm TM ferry ter side 2 reach BC & hbay @ the same time @ 35min de....lol. I look @ map,bc still further lei...rite?

I think there are lesser ferry companies, therefore lesser passengers coming in from btm ctr as compared to h.bay. - wrong

I think distance from hbf to btm ctr is shorter as compare from hbf to h.bay. - wrong

I think immigration custom officers in btm ctr works more efficient than in those in h.bay. - wrong

I think getting lower priced taxi is more easily & faster in btm ctr as compared to h.bay. - wrong

I think the traveling distance is shorter from btm ctr to nagoya as compared to h.bay to nagoya. - wrong

Having said the above, I think the moon in btm tonite is square too. :D - wrong

u aso no need b so sarcasm,u aso say u travel both bc & hbay mani times, mani thgs ppl said in forum all simply need use common sense 2 read. No common sense usin simple logic then ppl deserves be cheated in forum lor....lol

Taking down notes here :

Batamfast Online
https://pixator.org/images/2018/08/25/b8.jpg

Above was tabulated from the Batamfast online ferry ticket purchase system (all tax inclusive),hehehe...weird timing to go and leave Batam tho,but still...its fine for me since the destination would be via Harbour Bay.

And below is the promo they have for Senior Citizen,hehehe...i think after everything in,it would cost around S$32 plus minus (all ferry terminals).

quite good price lei...$39 still ok other than timing is nt good...lol,i'll choose morning....lol :D

https://pixator.org/images/2018/08/25/b9.jpg

...and i saw one here from Majestic Fast Ferry, but not going Harbour Bay.

https://pixator.org/images/2018/08/25/a1.jpg

** Sindo and Majestic dont go Harbour Bay.

*** Horizon Fast ferry do not have a promo at the point of this post

tis one goood 4 tose senior citizen...lol...but sindo ferry call 55yo senior citizen lei but majestic & batamfast call senior @ 60yo lei...no fair lei...nt the same la.

but if reli same price travel frm bc 2 nagoya & hbay 2 nagoya,i stil tink hbay 2 nagoya more convenient & cheaper la....

You mentioned saving only $5 over the total spending of approximately $300 per 2D1N trip is not worth the hassle, then I infer that if you could get the same sexual satisfaction and yet save the entire $300 plus no need go through the hassle of taking a ferry to Batam will appeal to you. After all, we guys are just looking for that 3-5 seconds of enjoyment when we cum right? :-)

It's the same, you choose to save where the amount is big and give you the best return when it comes to time saved. Whereas, those of us who go regularly have all the time in the world, why would I want to pay over the odds and get to the destination faster when reaching 30 mins later doesn't hurt me a single bit?

For me, I used to go on weekdays, sometimes take the last ferry too, and I don't face any inconvenience and even have ojeks chasing me for my business.

LOL.. no hard feeling meant, ok?

Must be Chinese restaurant you go to. Lol..

Not cheap tho, if i dont remember wrong it cost something like 200k rupiah or was it 250k rupiah. And that shop dont always have stock,hehehe...sold at one of the hairdressing shop in Citywalk Mall. I believe those who are in Batam will know, there is only one hairdressing salon inside that mall,hehehe... :D

Yes, you are right: Chinese seafood places like Jumbo, No Signboard, etc. Very xpensive but still they want to charge even S$0.50 on top of a bill of S$100+.

There's also another reason. Sitting at JCo working on my laptop for 2 or 3 hours
may catch attention of some ladies passing by or sitting for coffee, and may make office ladies to think that I am a business man working in Batam.
I become immediately more interesting for an office lady, than a speedy tourist who comes to Batam for the weekend and for the girls.
So, I put together two things: I work to not waste time and keep things going (I cannot afford to forget my work for 10 days) and I also fish sitting at my table drinking coffee.

PS: I must admit that my catch rate at JCo was good years ago, when there were really few Western men in Batam, but now has fallen down. Things got difficult. Disappointing. Ladies are used to meet and see Western men now, and I lost most of my "exot ic appeal". I must be very active in hunting. Fishing passively not not lead to much-

Good info. Newbies do take note.

I dont really walk to the hotel. But recce for girls i do take slow walk. Afterall i have all the time. No need rush. But i dont recce all the joints.

Precisely. We have all the time in the world when in Batam. And, when going around on foot, you automatically saved 100k-200k off your booking cost. Plus, how many times you take a cab each day anyway? The money saved can be used for buying stuff for ceweks if they give good service, or good meals with fellow buddies.

I usually stay in either of the following hotels:

- Hana Hotel
- Paragon Hotel
- Hans In

and start my hunt in the direction of DC Mall area. This will cover about 7 joints, all within 5 minutes walk off each other. If you get your timing and expectation right, by the 7th joint, you should have booked your girl for the day. :-)

There is a small trick which helps. On wide streets such as Jl. Bonjol, divided in two lanes, I prefer to walk on the right side, in the direction opposite to traffic. This makes much more difficult for an ojek to follow me.

The Predator

https://pixator.org/images/2018/08/27/a1f06c8.jpg

The Storyline :

From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home. Now, the universe's most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.

yes I walked few times, it was during my beginning time going to Batam. Normally I prefer to walk to find the way, to get familiarize.
I did the same thing when I first time went to JB. I purposely took bus, then from custom, I walked all the way to Danga City Mall. Last time Danga city Mall still had some crowd.

Same thinking here when I used to bring fellow cheongsters on Batam trip. No taxi, only move around on foot. First, you save over 300-400k front your girl booking fee. Second, talking a taxi means everywhere seem so near to each other. You won't even know if the taxi driver bring you circling around. I once had a friend who booked a girl from KupuKupu but he didn't know his hotel (Hotel18) is just diagonally across the joint as his driver brings him merry go round...

wah bro nono1973 . this one sibei good. can use as my mini guide to Batam liao. upz ur points

Very good bro. You are a professional. We samsters in this thread are well-taken care of by you. Let me digest them and will ask you if I don't understand any. Thank you!!

dn't say u all,even i aso read until my ownself aso need 2 digest....lol

https://sbf.net.nz/showpost.php?p=17709680&postcount=11581

My experience, i booked a girl from booking joint, the girl gets to my hotel. I ask my girl if she wants massage together with mevinside hotel room,i ordered 2 massage girls from the hotel to my room (in fact,i ever ordered 4 massage girls into my room a very long time ago),and now i have a choice of 3 girls (or 5 girls) to pop YOUR golden question to,hehehe...

Massage per girl will cost me 88k rupiah per hour,if i want something kinky,i will need to offer a higher price. To me, nearly every kinky game has a price,hehehe... it really depends on how far out one would stretch his wallet to. Eg, i have a friend who has a massage in those higher end MP lik Spa Secret etc, the place dont offer special, but when my friend is willing to offer a little higher than normal,he clitched the special deal. Another example is another friend of mine at a hotel MP that does special services, but when the massage girl was offer an overnight booking deal, she immediately reject citing massage girls in hotel dont do overnight booking etc. End of the 1 hour massage session,my friend manage to booked her for 1.8 juta (yes, its expensive from my perspective but well...i would say he got himself a very good deal due to her age and looks).

Some pay 10 juta and couldnt get the game started, some pays only 2 juta or less and win the game. Good interaction (and leaving good impression) with the girls plays a very important role. I always give myself (and those very same girls) 3 chances if i happen to fail. To me,anything is possible in Batam,hehehe... :p

Above were just what i have seen in the past. Other bro's experience may varies.

actualli hor,i kind of like 2 pick up all tese exp frm u & then modify a bit 2 make em useful 4 my ownself....lol

i learn quite abit of yr trickery...lol...when i look 4 smthg more exotic. :p

So, I put together two things: I work to not waste time and keep things going (I cannot afford to forget my work for 10 days) and I also fish sitting at my table drinking coffee.

u sibei luckie man...can afford mix work & play together. Mani who cum 2 btm work like hell & can onli cum btm on off days 2 take out stress lei...so the beginning of each person's objective when gng 2 btm is aldy different ma.... my ownself objective is i no wan tink abt sg wen i'm in btm or at least 4get sg 4 a while.

Fishing passively not not lead to much-

aiyo, go ask ard the gers in btm...bule stil their number one or number two choice in btm, then cums 2 those sg...follow by arabs, pakistan & others. If i go btm wit u ,standin side by side u 2 let the gers choose, they surely choose u & nt me...lol. :D

oh,partly aso cos bule generally more generous...lol...asian who got $ & ang moh who got $, worthiness in spending $ value is quite different 2. :p

to me,btm got no poor tourist. :D

There's a thin line between being considered "generous" or being considered "stupid".
Many who overpay without reason are welcome by girls, but considered stupid.
I don't want to be considered either stingy or stupid. I try to walk on that thin line, as I want girls consider me generous, even very generous, but never stupid.
If a girl considers me stupid, she does not respect me. How can we have a good time with someone, who does not have respect for us?

Seriously though, some guys are just either stupid or dumb. Some of the girls I booked told me that they have a number of customers who will send them money regularly, ranging from $200 - $1000+ monthly. Got one idiot even bought her a car!

And the funny thing is, above a certain monthly contribution, the guy will expect the girl to go back to her village and not do this things anymore. Now, I've a few things that I find weird about this. Firstly, if you don't reach that certain amount, why are you giving the girl monthly when you know the girl is getting money from other guys and screwing them too? 2nd, if I'm paying the girl $1000 plus monthly, I'd make sure they are nearby enough for me to sleep with her, spend time with her, etc. Not in some village that i will have to take a flight and hours of driving to reach, and even then, have to behave because she lives with her parents. Weird right?

3) Buying a indonesia starter pack data sim can be more expensive e.g. 50k-100k (although more data given) and to endure the hassle to register at the telco office

The following are the data packs available and can be deducted from main balance of $5 of the M card:

3 Days data pack
100MB $2
1 GB $5

7 Days data pack
10MB $1
1 GB $7

30 Days data pack
300MB $5
1 GB $10

Therefore now I see no reason to buy indonesia sim card for data usage in Batam UNLESS you need to make frequent land line voice calls back to singapore OR call hotels, travel agent, bank, ferry office in Batam. However if you have already make your trip arrangement beforehand then there should not be any need to call land line.

Handphone call to handphone whether in singapore or in batam can always use social media like whatapps, messenger, wechat, skype, etc.. for communication..:p

But one advantage about having a local sim card is that a person can make urgent call to seek for help should there be an emergency situation..:)

This should be a good idea,hehehe...i am going to test this out in my next Batam trip.

I said test it out becos i have not understand the strength of the internet connectivity and how stable it is going to be like. And i recently just bought a M1 sim card off the shelf from a 7-11 store in Singapore. I even called the M1 customer service to check it out...so here's what they advise and according to my understanding...

Enter the M1 portal for M Card user via my PC (i almost never use a mobile apps from my mobile phone, and i dont plan to do that for this one)

https://mcardaccount.m1.com.sg/login

https://pixator.org/images/2018/08/29/a0.jpg

Log in ,buy a data pack, go to Settings and turn off Local data, turn on Data Roaming and Network Lock and i should be able to surf in Batam.

https://pixator.org/images/2018/08/29/a11f7a6.jpg

Next thing i will do will be to have the mobile data connected to my laptop,hehehe...interesting...and thank you for sharing. Gonna run some test when i reach Batam.

Almost time i would be preparing for my next coming September trip and more importantly, preparing for my CNY 2019 trip,hehehe...

Cheers!

Thought i have shared this long time before, when in any booking joint,if there are no girls that caught my attention,i would go for those girls that has already booked by others but not due for collection yet,so that i can book them the next following day day or future. Simple trickery but need to first get into those booking joint's backdoors,hehehe... :p

Those that has already been booked can means that they have been "booked" on a monthly basis by their regular customer/s too. Most of those SYT girls may cost more during the first time, but subsequent times, can be as low as below a juta,hehehe...handful of them were just "part-timers". :D

A lot of things, no need to spell it out so clearly. Maybe thats why i am constantly puzzled by why some bros couldnt find suitable girls. Expectation too high? Goes to the wrong direction of searching? Or there's too much choices, resulting in an "expect-more-symptom"? Hehehe... its all on my summaries which i just read.

One thing to note is that M1 preferred network partner in indonesia is indosat OR XL Axiata. When you arrive in batam, you will probably receive a sms message from M1 on your phone with your M1 prepaid sim to advise you to connect to which indonesia telco network.

I have experienced data roaming using spore prepaid sim connected to XL network in Batam, the reception was quite good.

https://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/convert/?Amount=1&From=SGD&To=IDR

The indonesian rupiah has devalued again to a new record low at 10810 rupiah per sing dollar.

Some of the reasons could probably be due to:

1) US raising interest rate attract investors to place US currency. Rupiah becomes unpopular.

2) The rupiah is currently not an attractive asset as Indonesia is being plagued by high inflation and slowing economic growth.

3) Foreign investors holding about 40 percent of Indonesia gov bonds therefore the country is highly vulnerable to ‘mood swings’ of foreign investors.

4) Falling commodity prices (e.g. crude oil, palm oil and coal) caused by the global economy and particularly by China’s economic slowdown.

About 40 years ago Year 1978 when I went to Jakarta as a child, I remembered that the exchange rate was S$1 = 1000 rupiah

Now in Year 2018, it has become S$1 = 10800 rupiah

Devalued almost 11 times over 40 years period...

I wonder whether with the continue depreciation of the rupiah, will the cost of hotel, massage, booking girls, public transport and ferry ticket be raised...

Exchange rate has been awesome these couple of days...
I have the feeling that in Batam prices of goods oriented to foreigners (for example, booking girls, hotel rates,...) are locked to their equivalent in SGD.
If IDR devaluates vs. SGD, after a while the prices in IDR will go up correspondingly.

Just back from Batam, got rate of 1.067juta IDR for S$100 at BC Ferry Terminal but prices of goods in Batam still about the same like old days. Maybe, prices will increase later? Girls still 400k/800k from WeChat, 1 to 1.2 juta at booking joints.

You don't expect prices change day by day looking at the exchange ratio. It's a long term trend.

What are "gold days"? My first time in Batam, booking at main joints was from 350k to 1M, now from 700k to 2M. It was 9 years ago, maybe.
Formosa posts the prices in SGD.
Interestingly, 8-10 years ago 1 SGD was around 6500 IDR (XE). Versus USD, the rate moved less: from 9000 to 14000-15000.

When i 1st started Batam, exchange rate was around 8700 for 1 SGD,hehehe...and i could easily get 600k rupiah booking girl. Hotel in my 1st 2 to 3 Batam trips was about S$61.00 to S$63.00 for the MOST basic room in Formosa via agoda and booking.com....today,basic room there is around S$48.00 and booking girls lowest i could get is around 700k rupiah (or 800k rupiah?) If i compare highest price on girls,it might likely be an infinity amount as there were never short of people in Batam paying exorbitant amount for their girls,hehehe...

I have experienced data roaming using spore prepaid sim connected to XL network in Batam, the reception was quite good.

What i was looking for is stability. I had a no-good experience with Telkomsel whereby connectivity was relatively unstable,as in intermittent connection kind of instability hence i pick AndroMax as my main source of internet connection in the event i am out of free wifi coverage from those hotels or restaurant/s,hehehe....inside hotel,i am usually on wired LAN line for my laptops and PC/s (occasionally wireless). ;)

i guessin hotels in btm ovr a period of time price will depreciate due 2 their inability 2 maintain well...tose hotels like harmoni, swissbel organization knw hw 2 maintain their hotel price is quite stabilize even after mani yrs....lol

Those hotels under organization, their price has gone up a bit. Other 3 star older hotels like Utama,Formorsa,Goodway,Nagoya Plz,89, Hana & the rest has come dwn by at an average of 15% over the last few years. My friends once told me,Batam is a place where by many hotels can break even with just abt 65% weekend occupancy, their profit would mainly comes from weekday stayer. ;)

That's very interesting. During my last stay in Batam I had to go to the Grabari, two times, to register the SIM with my passport. Without that, the SIM was locked and I could not use it even for a single day.
I reported all details about the procedure and its pittfalls.
What changed? And when?

Weekends and eve of PH are always chaotic in Batam, with all the aunties and uncles with grandkids in tow for the cheap food and shopping. Use HB Ferry Terminal and better still, go on a weekday.

Any suggestions for a men’s spa with full service near BCS Mall?

If i were to reply to your exact question word by word,my answer would be "there is NO men's spa" near BCS,hehehe... However, there is a spa that is unisex with special service called New Spa at Batam City Hotel. Below link should cover most of what you wish to ask.

https://sbf.net.nz/showpost.php?p=17594420&postcount=11207

Do a search on Batam City Hotel and you will be able to know that BCS is less than or about 5 min walk away.

Not too sure about event/s there, but its Malaysia's Independence day on 31st Aug 2018,also a long weekend there. More tourist maybe coming to and fro Malaysia. Its also the beginning of the month, most get their salary and well...hehehe...on top of that,90% of Batam's tour agents i read about travel via Batam center ferry terminal too. i wish to add its Teacher's Day in Singapore but...hehehe...doubt there's much to do with that. :D

Next time, you may wish to try 3rd week of the month which is non-Dec,non-CNY ,non-public holiday, and/or on weekdays, you may be surprised,hehehe...

but if reli same price travel frm bc 2 nagoya & hbay 2 nagoya,i stil tink hbay 2 nagoya more convenient & cheaper la....

If i am a senior citizen,i will pay S$32 to go via Harbour Bay ferry terminal. I definitely reach my hotel around Nagoya way faster & more efficiently,hehehe...for the last 4 over years,i have been devising the best way for myself to travel around in Batam.

My best way that best suits me, go via Harbour Bay via Horizon (S$48) or Batamfast (S$39),for FREE,hehehe...and then have the hotel pick me up from Harbour Bay and end of my batam trip ,send me back to Harbour Bay,again for all of it free. How much do i save? I stopped counting for nearly 2 years ,hehehe... :p

...frm hotel jus use gocar/grab since most hotel's supir aso cn't tel difference btween online taxis or convention taxi. Cost usualli cost 8k to 15k rp within nagoya/penuin.

If i have friends with me,i will usually walk over to Ggi hotel to order Gocar costing around 9k rupiah or so to Nagoya area,hehehe...shared by 3 pax including myself, each person just pay around 3k rupiah. Comes out to be the same price as ankor van (walking distance should be quite the same),hehehe...and if i am staying in my regular hotels, fare would be zero rupiah (free pickup/drop-off).

I notice everyone's traveling habit can be different,hehehe...some would love to travel a little longer distance to their staying place in Nagoya, queue a little longer for their passport to get chop during entry at immigration as they get to see more indo culture during their travel too. Some wish to reach where they wish to be at the nearest possible time. Some who were really newer or 1st timer, hence they just wish to be very super sure on those many certain aspect. But certainty most time mainly applies to regulars, eg i am kind of sure, regulars no longer visit ALL booking joints/MPs in their every single trip anymore, and most time will visit their favourite food eateries, eat their favourite food , shop for only things they come Batam for ,etc etc. The whole mentality is different for the different level and types of traveler.

Over a longer period of time, the best method of traveling will always be, those that are most suitable for oneself. ;)

Indeed.
On my first time in Batam, I visited many restaurants, and I wanted to see many places.

Now, I have ONE restaurant in Windsor, ONE street "restaurant" for ikan bakar, ONE restaurant in Harbour Bay. I have my coffee at JCO at Nagoya Hill. I always stay in one of the same 2-3 rooms in Formosa. I always have a look at NoName then I move to Newton or P3 every night. I rarely change the daily routine, because I feel that is the best I can do.
Interestingly, the same happened in some other places of the world where I have become a regular. First time: exhaustive exploration. After few times: stick to the same 2-3 well-experimented places. No risk to go wrong.

Booking joints? If I decide to have a look, I try to visit as many as I can, to be sure I am not missing some isolated rare "gem" hiding in one of the places. This did not change since my first visit.

By the way, dear Nono, you know what would be EXTREMELY USEFUL to all visitors, including new ones, almost regulars, expecially returning visitors after a long time?
A list of booking joints (be them named as "massage" or "KTV") kept updated every month, area by area. Not a big work: just a list of names with area where they are located.

New joints open and traditional ones close (Permata Indah! SIGH!!) or change name (Sedona a.k.a. Gold Bird). Instead of grabbing an ojek and asking for "cewek", it is much better to have a piece of paper in hand with that magic list of 15 places. Many ojek drivers do not know all of them, or DO NOT WANT to go there, if not forced, because commission is lower. Having a list in hand is strongly advisable IMHO.
I recently found a piece of paper, all deteriorated, which I used to keep with me on my first year in Batam. All those names are now history (New Berlian!)

Start of school holiday. I totally forgot about that and have never seen batam centre nor Harbourfront that packed. Crazy shit. But the ones who went there were families, so booking joints (at least on the sunday) was quite empty. A lot of choices.

Trip would have been great if I didn't hurt myself in the pool, bleeding.. had to send back my girl early. Haiz..

Which restoran in Harbourbay

Wei Wei 1. I don't recommend it in particular. I go there not because I believe it is better than others, or the ones in Windsor, but because:

1) I have fond memories of that restaurant. The first where I went on my first visit to Batam many years ago. The place where I took so many girls.

2) I need a few places where to go with different girls. I don't take many girls to Windsor, so that beer girls there do not think I take a different girl every night.

But must first hand inform not tally will reject. For rates: ST goes 500k - 700k . LT 1m above . All can nego. But do not expect much. Try 2 clubs “Noname” well not much maybe i went on weekdays. Then F1 club with slightly better quailty girls. Rate 1mil above.

I didn't knw Sari Jaya was closed. Few years ago,i used to hear from my supir saying that it used to be owned by a very rich local old man, some years back after the father pass on, his children start squandering all the money away. The piece of land where the hotel is situated is bigger than most other hotels in Batam,i think they might have sold it.

Back then we cheong like no morrow. Ev weekends. At times switch places btw Tbk n btm. Ceweks at btm spoilt for choice ya. Things were cheap....boking, accomodation. Boking of 2 ceweks at one go was so affordable! Tere were few discoteq. Casino were around too but for a short period.

Most ceweks at N Berlian were milfs. Boking fees quite cheap n reasonable compared to sm other joints. Used to patronise N berlian too. Know the boss Mr Goh quite well.:D Way back one cld bok a cewek for 150-200k rup
:D:(

The ex rate i am getting now is slight better than i used to get late year 2000. But the cost of boking ceweks, meals, accomodation, tpt, far far exceeded my 1998 budget!

This is a good idea and i agree every bit of it. BUT! (hehehe...i talk about this briefly before)

Everytime the list is updated, i got penalized. The forum rules,no ads with contact info that comes in conflict with the forum's business that kept it running (i am saying this in my own words and understanding of the forum rules).

1st, the forum only allows 1 month time frame of editing ONE single post. Everytime the list is updated,i need to either quote the whole post (which by the way, is also against forum rules) or create a new post with the entire list, which is again against the forum rules becos i am not suppose to repeatedly post a single (or more) mongering place with its contact info and details more than once. (yes,i remember someone suggest posting a link but i am talking about updating something new in the same list,so links cant work)

2nd time,i try to do one post one booking joint with full details and yes,its one place one post like i did in for the Batam Food list,hehehe...

https://sbf.net.nz/showpost.php?p=14080222&postcount=34430

...and then later compile it into a list, guess what. There are people who start complaining to the mods that I AM ADVERTISING for a certain booking place/s (and some eateries),hehehe....i think my friend's who were in the Balai threads (they frequent both Balai and Batam) even tells me people are saying i am an OKT or some kind of an agent too,hehehe....

I learned later that this forum is called SBF, its a community where when "if i do it,i'm damned,if i dont do it,i am still damned",hehehe...and i later learned that very people who complained to the Mods were the very people who cloned themselves to start creating trouble in the thread too. (all of them were in my ignore list and one could easily tells them apart base just SOLELY on contribution)

My friends whom i knew in Batam keep teasing me whenever we met, becos base on those complainants in SBF ,i am now looking more like the owner of the WHOLE Batam island,hehehe...the WHOLE island belongs to nono1973,so every details that comes out from what i type in this thread on mongering places become an advertisement,hahaha....doesnt it seems like it?

So what can i do? I decide to just guide the newbie/s the basics i knew. The more in depth stuffs, they will have to figure out themselves as my summaries already "sort of" serve like a guideline. At least if they ever met up with those real agents (who plan to chop them,at the very least they know the right price to pay) or if there's some not-so-good experience, they will at least know how to use their own judgement base on what they have read on my guide/s and summaries. 40 summaries, base on average of 1 month one summary, its about 3.5 years of my own personal experiences,hehehe.... ;)

As of all the situations mentioned and encountered above, it is not easy updating the list according to what i would want it to be,hence i can only provide this below...

(which is why i notice google updates the batam map at about once a year,hehehe...)

https://pixator.org/images/2018/09/07/1WalkthruUtama-Updatedon05.01.2017.jpg

...which i find its the BEST solution (for newbie ,of course). Go to Utama Hotel, walk ONE ROUND around its perimeter, whereby they will at least know how to find their way in way out ; at the same time they wont be able to MISS OUT what they are looking for if they stayed in Formosa hotel (base on my spoiler above).

As for the latest update, forumers will have to read the latest 50 to 70 pages of the thread. And for the more senior forumers (who has ever shared their part/s in the past) who are really looking for the more in-depth info, they will have to go through some readings and use forum PMs.

In conclusion, everyone plays the Batam game differently,my method/s may not be all suitable, and if the majority of the people reading this message wish for an updated cheonging list as like in the past, then the forum mods/admins may have to give me the "rights" to do so and start throwing those complainants PMsss on ME out (sound as if i truly own the whole of Batam). Otherwise, i will keeping those listings in my "wardrobe",hehehe...think of it this way, compiling info and putting them on a list is no easy task whereby it require lots of teamwork effort, imagine every post i made ,there's one complain (i dont know if they even contribute), and i have to remove it...how much time and effort would have gone wasted. And afterwhich, i am damned,hehehe...

Give you a few simple examples, remember Marine Live Sea food restaurant's ordeal, then there's a post i made on Bunga name card with the joint's phone number on it and then there's one whole list of Batam's booking joints name card. (i can see the mod making effort to be fair to everyone and thats no easy work either)

I am more of a Batam Info collector in this thread,so if things cannot work as i hope it would directly, i can only work around it,hehehe....save the right people many trouble/s as well as keeping the thread peaceful. Which i feel best fit in.

* truth to be told,i have in the past indeed thought of collecting a dollar or 2 from each of my Batam friends who joined me in my trips to pay the SBF forum for advertising the WHOLE of Batam. Anyway, its only a quick thought that cross my mind a very long time ago,hehehe...Batam belongs to Indonesia,NOT nono1973 (and i am a Singaporean). :)

I think you are making it more complex than it actually is.

1) In each report, we usually mention the name of a booking joint, or a restaurant, of a disco, of a pub. That's not advertising. It's reporting facts.
I am suggesting to make a list of NAMES, each with the area where they are located. No need to post contact data or more. The name is enough.
No way it could be considered advertising.
The same could be done for hotels or restaurants, but personally I think it is more useful to have the up-to-date list of booking joints (they change every few months).

2) I don't see how someone could complain if you post once a month a report entitled "List of Booking Joints (updated dd/mm/yyyy)". On the contrary, this is the reason why one would like to browse this forum: to find information (besides chitchatting).
I strongly suggest you to do that. I would do that, if I would visit Batam every month, and if I would make a whole tour of all joints (which I don't, as you know).

The format I suggest is the following, extremely simple:

"List of Booking Joints (updated dd/mm/yyyy)"
Miss Candy, behind Utama Hotel, optional comments.
Permata Manis, in front of Formosa Hotel, optional comments.
.........

No need to post phone numbers, photos, price range (which vary often and even vary depending on who is asking). Optional comments should be no more than few words.
Post that once a month, or every few months when you think an update is needed, or edit the last current version if you want to make a minor change few days after posting.
Link that in your signature.
That's it!

Do that, and you really earn the eternal gratitude of everyone here.

Try using pastebin and post the link here instead?
You have full control of the edits anytime. ;)

Here's an example pastebin link (https://pastebin.com/hwhGL66a).

Anyways, interesting thread. Considering to plan a trip on the next PH.

Lol.. try taking a look at the Balai thread. Just posting girls photo only with no joint or contact number listed also get warning.

What you suggested used to be the directory of Geylang, which lorong, which joint and the house girls there. That's how sammyboy started in the 1990s. Even before they moved to Delphi Forums and the current server now.

I would suggest doing an off-site list and link it in the sigfile and the author will have control of the content. But, it may be branded as an advertisement for the off-site list owner though.

Like nono said, Damm if I do, Damm if I don't.
