I believe the last thing they (bosses,staffs/ and victim/s etc) ever wanted is to get any police involved in this issue. That's according to what I hear from some of them.

...50k rupiah,2 way trip from ferry terminal to hotel and then send me off on my last day in Batam. No need to bargain,no need to 'rush'. Once a rushing mode hits me,it may spoil my holiday mood (especially when its the last few hours of my trip). I enjoy taking my time but i prefer to be in control of my own situation. My trump card is my silver membership, in case it triggers my "all else fail" plug "it" is going to send me back to any ferry terminal for free,just like a dual-layer fail-safe...hehehe...

No offense to anyone... But, please enlighten me, why is Delta Spa being considered a tourist trap? By my definition, usually those shops without prices bring listed upfront, then I'd considered tourist trap. For eg, the seafood shops are Windsor food court cos no price is listed upfront.

But, for Delta Spa, they always have the sexily dressed GROs explain the sessions and prices in the lounge area before you proceed to the room for the massage. They even tell you the price for each session, plus buy 3 get front "massage" free. Yes, they try to upsell you the aromatherapy massage lah, the hot stone massage lah, but it's up to you to agree or reject these upsell.

My opinion and I don't regard them as tourist trap. I used to frequent them and always get fj there from negotiating with the girl directly. But, never once had I been charged differently from what was told to me by the GRO.

Just returned from Batam. Here's my FR for 4D3N. This is my first time going alone but am glad to meet up some bros there. I've included my first day FR that I've posted earlier for completeness.

I'm breaking the FR into 2 parts because of the length. Pls up my points if you find this informative. :D

Day 1
Reached Batam on Wed evening. Took the advice here and went to confirm my return ferry timing. Then went out to take a taxi. Too lazy to bargain and paid 50k for the ride to Nagoya Hill. I only have 50k notes anyway.

Checked into Grand I Hotel at Nagoya. Booked a deluxe room at around $113 per night. Not cheap but totally worth it. I figured I might need to spend a lot of time in the room if there's nothing for me to do, so might as well splurge on a better hotel.

After check in, I walked 10 mins to Formosa to change money. Felt kinda silly walking so far but am more comfortable changing money there than at Nagoya Shopping Mall. Anyway changed at 9400 so wasn't that good either.

Since it's now too late to go booking joints, I decided to check out Delta spa. I know this could be a tourist trap, but some bros recommended that I at least try once. So I went and got the full hot stone package at 830k. Massage was so so and the hot stones were not that special. Then came the hj which was disappointing. Wanted to touch but was quoted a price of 500k. I flatly refused, even when she lowered the price to 200k. And the hj was quite painful. Damn, now I'm regretting. And no, the hj was not done using hot stones as cheekily suggested by bro Black Page. :)

Again the crowd was thin, so I decided to call it a day and went back to hotel to sleep.

So ends my first night in Batam. Pretty boring and uneventful.

Day 2
After the nice breakfast at the hotel, I decided to check out some clean massages around Nagoya Mall. Went into a few and finally decided on Reborn Spa. There was a weekday happy hour promotion (10am to 2pm) at 30% discount, so I took a 2 hour body massage for only 188k. Damn worth it. Massage was strong and good, and I felt refreshed after it.

By the time I finished, it was 1.15pm. Quickly rushed back to hotel to meet bro fde83 at 1.30pm. He had booked a taxi for us to go joint hopping. Went to many joints and I can only remember Gold Bird, Hawaii, Permata Indah, Happy8, KupaKupa, Sri Kandy, Bunga, New Berry, Links. By then I was damn tired and didn't want to go back to Newton disco. So I messaged my gal from the previous night. Surprisingly she's still available so I asked her to come down to Titanium Club to look for me. Of course I had to pay 1.4m, but I was so tired by that time and just wanted someone to accompany me for the night. She came after 15 mins and we sat around for a while. Actually, there's isn't really much secrets in catching ask these gems. Three places that I got my very good bookings, everyone know the places. The six joints at Utama area, the 2 joints near Hana Hotel etc are joints that everyone (out most here) know about. It's how you are willing to spend time to build relationship with the papis & mamis that enables you to dig out the gems. These are the sort of things that can't be taught easily.

I have been repeating this many times,not every mongering place is suitable for everyone. When one is in Batam and like it there,find your own fun,build your own 'other fun' and then dwell in it becos ONLY you know whats best for yourself,hehehe...

At the least,i dont go around condemning another mongering place/s if i am still new to it becos if i do,it likely means i have set a certain EXPECTATION in Batam and/or expected those other places to be like Batam.

I'm an IT person, ie I prefer to deal with ONEs any ZEROs than human. And if I can learn all these, I'm sure most of you Casanovas out here can. Try not to target going to 8/9/10 joints reach day. Target 4-5 max. Then you get to spend more time each joints. Afterall, if you are newbie (or not seasoned cheongster) in Batam, the more joints you go, the more you're going to be overwhelmed by the choices.


And i dont even speak Bahasa indo,hehehe...i can count 1 to 5 in Malay tho,thats my max. Thats also why my taxi fare never exceed 50k,hehehe...as beyond 5,i cannot understand.

From famosa - holiday - few near by , all fully book .
Finally found one nagoya plaza , book 4 room but upon check in , room smelly , and got cockraoch .
Decide to refund . Kena charge per room (100k)
Then walk towards nagoya shopping mall .
Check a few near by all fully book .
turn to nagoya hotel (1 j) per night , decided too ex so go find again .
Find grand hotel , same its fully book .
Finally , we give up , turn to nagoya hotel . Thinking nvm , since so tired already . End up when reach there . Its fully BOOK !

Piangs , lucky the security guard give some times , find another hotel (orion hotel ) just opp the road of nagoya hotel .

And if you come across one that didnt have,but if you could supply a flow of at least 3 to 4 of your friends WHO also happen to be with you and wanted PRCs in Batam,by all means tell the Mami in the KTV,she will bring you at least half a dozen within about an hour or 2.

There are only one if not two main suppliers for foreign girls (non-indos) in Batam,so Mami will just need to call them for it and they will be able to bring it to the particular KTV for you. Its also one reason why PRCs or other foreign girls are more expensive in Batam. Supplier earns a bit,KTV also earn a bit and then both PRC and non-PRC mami also earn a bit,plus adding up the Girl's day-end profit...and finally their customers looking for PRCs become the biggest suckers who will pay for it all.

You are likely to end up paying a 9/10 PRC girl price (as compare to Sillypore/Malaysia) for a 5.5/10 to 7/10 PRC girl in Batam at the end of the day. This is solely base on my observation.

I asked the Horizon Ferries counter at HBB upon arrival and was told that I can just show up earlier or later than the reserved timing. I reserved a seat for the 4.40pm ferry and ended up decided to take the earlier 2pm ferry during my last day. Just showed up around 1.15pm and the counter girl printed another ticket with no questions asked.

There are only one if not two main suppliers for foreign girls (non-indos) in Batam,so Mami will just need to call them for it and they will be able to bring it to the particular KTV for you. Its also one reason why PRCs or other foreign girls are more expensive in Batam. Supplier earns a bit,KTV also earn a bit and then both PRC and non-PRC mami also earn a bit,plus adding up the Girl's day-end profit...and finally their customers looking for PRCs become the biggest suckers who will pay for it all.

You are likely to end up paying a 9/10 PRC girl price (as compare to Sillypore/Malaysia) for a 5.5/10 to 7/10 PRC girl in Batam at the end of the day. This is solely base on my observation.

That is the outcome for not getting united to control the booking fees. The booking fees will rise and sing dollar will drop to 1 sgd to below 9000 rupiah.

I've just returned from a day trip for golf in Batam which ended with a massage and fuck at the on course spa. Many stores in Nagoya and Batam Center remained shut on Monday as their owners said they had received leaflets asking them to temporarily close their businesses in support of a campaign to demand the abolition of the so-called Authority Mandatory Annual Fee (UWTO).

“We were afraid to open up our store as we were asked to halt operations for the next three days,” Komar, who owns a fruit store in Nagoya, told The Jakarta Post.

The UWTO refers to mandatory annual fees charged by the Batam Indonesia Free Trade Zone Authority (BP Batam) to those occupying land in the industrial region. The fees will be then allocated to support infrastructure and public facility development.

In response to the situation, Riau Islands Police said they were questioning two activists from the People’s Alliance to Challenge the UWTO (Geram) for allegedly distributing the leaflets and disrupting economic activity in the area.

The whole issue for the victims isn't about the video or the photos taken, but more of their faces being shown in it. Most wouldn't mind their nude body being taken down w/o showing their face,but when it comes to their nude photo taken with their face being put up in public domain...hmm...that would be a little tricky. I doubt most normal person enjoy seeing that happening to themselves.

1. Have you been to Altalanta Men's Spa? How much was the price for 1.5 hour massage inclusive of room? Answer is 250k for normal room or 370k for its VIP room as stated on their PRICE LIST. Clean and clear,right? End of the all sessions, do you pay anything more than from the stated pricelist? Answer is obviously what you already knew,no.

2. Now we come to Octopuss,how much was its pricing for their room including massage + 1 free HJ and use of facilities? Here we go :

Here's the receipt I found online becos i have lost mine from a long time ago but STILL, it is going to reflect what I am trying to explain to you about this place being a tourist trap later :

My next question,did you pay the verbally stated amount right? Or did you actually pay higher than the verbally stated amount by the GROs? Look closer at the 5% service charge right below the bill. Today,the amount can be more than 5% since that receipt is almost 4 years old. You can say that the 5% (or more today),is an insignificant amount but well...my question remains, did you pay the "same amount" as was told verbally told? (since they dont have a price list) Thats not including all the other upselling tho. (note : i don't factor in exchange rate of nearly 4 years ago)

i wrote the above base on my understanding on your theory by not having 1st,a pricelist and later,the customer were ask to pay a higher verbally quoted price upon leaving. Batam's Delta Spa fits all your criteria of a tourist trap,hehehe...not right?

The difference between a tourist trap and a non-tourist trap pricing from my own perspective is, the amount that I am suppose to pay has to be CLEAR,no rubber-band pricing (aka hidden cost). And obviously,that amount on Delta Spa isn't CLEAR. 5% on the bill 3 over years ago is 5k for every 100k spent and the more you spent,the higher the 5% can adds up in rupiah. I also see a similarity in Delta as in Windsor when they start trying to UPSELL. The part where nearly all windsor food court's stalls trying to push all their food menu to their customers.

My same question remains. Am i still paying the said-price? or the said price plus 5% more? (as of date of stated receipt)

In Windsor,there was no price on its menu,but I can bargain down if the price don't feel right or i query them...Delta Spa? I cant. I book a room at 460k from hotel,i pay 460k when I checked out. I don't pay 460k plus tax plus service charge plus any other thing/s. This theory is applied to any other things w/o a price listing and that was verbally agreed upon.

(note : taxi drivers at ferry terminals today learned this theory from Sillyporean,so they also come up with a price list menu nowaday BUT this dont mean most of them who use THAT method are not tourist trap either)

Batam Delta Spa is just like another Yun Nan Hair Loss salon or Beijing 101 in Sillypore. They make things look cheap in appearance to draw your attention or allow the customers to feel very well-worth the price in appearance BUT how much will their customers have to ultimately pay IF they are looking for the things they are REALLY AFTER? And lastly,will a NEW customer be render a lousier standard of service if they were to reject all their upselling and/or anything extras the massage girls attempt to sell? Will i get a black faced massage girl in my room? It would be for those who wish to know to try to find out,hehehe...

Alternatively,anyone can also visit Yun Nan or Beijing 101 in Sillypore which is going to have the same effect as in going to Batam's Delta Spa. Joining the FREE China shopping tour group or visit Taiwan's tourist gift shops where they sell deity statues or stone marble ornament, eg, Pi Xiu, Qi Ling etc to unprepared tourists also can get the same feel too.

Yes, I am categorizing Batam Delta Spa similar to the like of Yun Nan,Beijing 101,shops in Taiwan that sells deity ornament to tourist (S$5 item on the street sold to tourist at S$50) and the China shopping tour packages where tourists has to meet a certain shopping quota (or be dump behind by their tour guide) under the same nature of trap meant for tourist. Those are not scams,they are traps,and if no tourist were caught in those traps,the one who lay them will likely 'chu pattern'.

For me to go to Batam Delta spa,i have only one plain simple solution (for myself only) which I often use.

I go for ONLY 2 sessions which will not entitles me for the free hj (which as a matter of fact, isnt really free to start with either) and i will just negotiate with the girl/s directly. Nothing more,nothing less,take it or leave it as my "expectation" is already on NOT having any happy-ending since only 3 sessions gives me a free hj and i chose not to take it up. If the girl plays by the company rules for a non-private-negotiation on the happy-ending,then lets be it...i will just walk out w/o the happy-ending after all my 2 sessions is done up. No hot stones,no vip room,no whatever aroma oil blah blah blah. i still believe if they are open to the option of taking off their clothes with roaming for some extra fee,i dont see why i cannot negotiate privately for a happy-ending. And the girls can forget about trying to upsell me anything, becos i usually will ask them to keep quiet (by nicely showing the sign language "shh...") AFTER they turn me down on my private negotiation on happy-ending and if they were to ever expect any tipping from me due to their good massage service,then they should not keep talking on their upselling for starter.

Ever wonder why Delta Spa price keep increasing in such high frequency (once every less than a year)? And Octopuss Spa seems to follow suit nowaday?(but not in such high frequency) Hehehe... my answer base on my own observation is simple becos Sillyporeans allows them to hence i say,Batam Delta spa..is a confirmed tourist trap and not for newbies, unless they wish to pay 'school fees'.

I rarely see batam locals in Delta Spa ,so their main source of income were definitely not from locals.

I dont limit myself ,or fix myself to a certain fix formula barring myself from going beyond that limit. 460k for my suite room isnt my limit,remember my aunties and uncles also staying in Family room with queen bed plus 1 in-room super single bed at 460k under my name. There's also a friend of mine who stays in a junior suite at 460k too. To me, 1+1 can become 3 and 0.5 + 0.5 can make it to 3 too,hehehehe...and i have yet to add in the break down of the free room voucher.

Be it hotel room,be it booking girls, be it massage places or massage girls, tippings of most kind ,Indo chinese girls etc etc etc in Batam,i try not to be bound by a fix law (or fix rule). I dont like to set a limit to myself and i believe having self-control,being humble,being nice,contantly watching out not to underestimate others and/or overestimate myself, having a deeper understanding of my environment and the people around will bring me further than my current 0.5+0.5=3.

That's when Delta Spa just started operations in Batam and I'm pretty sure that I paid the verbally quoted price, plus whatever small change that I told to keep anyway. I'm quite sure of that because they just started operations and are heavily talked about in this forum. Heavily talked about also meant that are quite aware of the prices for the 02 and / or 03 sessions and what they provide. Hence, if the amount quoted by the cashier is different from the quoted amount, I will know.

Ok, now I get it why you categorized them as tourist traps for the unsuspecting tourist. In fact, most don't mind cos when converted to SGD, the amount is negligible. But, it doesn't meant it's right. Like one of my staff... She paid the 60k taxi fare from Harbour Bay to Nagoya because, to her, it's just slightly more than $6, based on today's exchange rate. But, what she didn't factor in is that, for the same distance, taxi in Singapore don't cost that much. Haizzz... Must educate her in this.

This is the biggest problem i notice in Batam. Everything in Batam today is so dirt cheap (to most),just like Sillypore 30 over years ago. And today's Sillyporean is trying their very best to make Batam like Sillypore of today (they already successfully make that happen in Bintan). Not that most Sillyporean couldnt afford $10+ per short taxi trip,or tip S$50 to S$150 to any Batam girls or even pay S$150+ for massage with special service (since they already paid about this amount for nearly most of the lower-end Sillypore entertainment). So,definitely its not about affordability for MOST Sillyporean traveling to Batam. Its their mentality that needs to get adjusted.

One day,i may do a write up on how a 10 year old kid can also go to Batam for a 2D1N holiday trip alone by carrying lots of money with him (maximum cash limits can be up to S$20k per pax,hehehe...). It would be quite close to how any adults who would walk-through in Batam,hehehe... <10 year old kid Batam Walk-through guide> sounds like a good name for the story,hehehe...

The ending moral of that story might likely be, to spend lesser than a 10 year old kid who hold lots of cash in hand,not every sillyporean can...to spend more than him/her, ALL Sillyporean also can,hehehe...:D

The massage package starts from 250k for 90mins in a standard room (information from bro nono1973).

Any specials (HJ/FJ) are negotiated directly with the cewek in the room. Expect to be quoted about 600-800k for FJ if they sense that you are a carrothead. 500k is just about the usual rate that the ceweks will accept. Have heard in this thread that 350-400k is possible (albeit difficult) if you're a tough ass negotiator AND if the cewek is super desperate for the business.

Just returned from Batam. Here's my FR for 4D3N. This is my first time going alone but am glad to meet up some bros there. I've included my first day FR that I've posted earlier for completeness.

1st,i need to salute you for having that kind of courage to try Batam for 4D3N when you were heading there for the 1st time and alone.

Day 1
Reached Batam on Wed evening. Took the advice here and went to confirm my return ferry timing. Then went out to take a taxi. Too lazy to bargain and paid 50k for the ride to Nagoya Hill. I only have 50k notes anyway.

Do note that you can always break the 100k rupiah big note to smaller denomination when you change your S$ to rupiah at any money changer in Batam (provide if they have stock). I usually break it down to 10k and/or 5k rupiah small notes whenever I change my money.

Smaller denomination of rupiah notes has the power to create many small miracles in Batam,hehehe...

Checked into Grand I Hotel at Nagoya. Booked a deluxe room at around $113 per night. Not cheap but totally worth it. I figured I might need to spend a lot of time in the room if there's nothing for me to do, so might as well splurge on a better hotel.

When you stayed in higher end hotels, the in-room food service,their in-house massage and any other in-house stuffs will also cost higher too. Give Da Vienna Hotel and Batam Harbour Bay Hotel a shot if you are into higher class rooms in future. Cost of room will be about 50% lesser, yet its classyness remains.

I am comparing mainly on quality of room.

After check in, I walked 10 mins to Formosa to change money. Felt kinda silly walking so far but am more comfortable changing money there than at Nagoya Shopping Mall. Anyway changed at 9400 so wasn't that good either.

You are staying for 4D3N,base on your FR,you probably spend more than S$1k excluding ferry. So if you change around the ferry terminal area it would be about 9250/SGD. You get about 150/SGD more and eventually for $1k,you are 150k richer changing opposite Formosa Hotel. If you feel your 10mins is worth 150k (S$17) then it would be worthy, if not...no,your time and effort goes wasted.

Since it's now too late to go booking joints, I decided to check out Delta spa. I know this could be a tourist trap, but some bros recommended that I at least try once. So I went and got the full hot stone package at 830k. Massage was so so and the hot stones were not that special. Then came the hj which was disappointing. Wanted to touch but was quoted a price of 500k. I flatly refused, even when she lowered the price to 200k. And the hj was quite painful. Damn, now I'm regretting. And no, the hj was not done using hot stones as cheekily suggested by bro Black Page.


Never try,never know. After you tried,will you return to Delta Spa for a massage again? Or will you try out Altalanta or Octupuss? Hope to hear more after you were able to make your comparison at a later time.

If you prefer the likes of Grand iHotel,try moving closer to NED (Nagoya Entertainment district) in your next trip and stay perhaps in Harmoni Hotel ,its Harmoni hotel,not Harmoni Suite nor Harmoni One hotel (notice i dont recommend Formosa this time?) ,and you will have most of what you like being move closer to you. There's also Goodway hotel nearby but no,..becos its not luxury enough. Harmoni would be a better choice,closer to where you wish to "hunt" too.

I am suggesting the above base on being in your shoe. And as for myself,anything and everything i need to have a good time with, should be within my clutches,hehehe...most parts of my physical strength and stamina should be reserved for my girl/s in my room,not so much for walking too much.

You are staying for 4D3N,base on your FR,you probably spend more than S$1k excluding ferry. So if you change around the ferry terminal area it would be about 9250/SGD. You get about 150/SGD more and eventually for $1k,you are 150k richer changing opposite Formosa Hotel. iHotel Baloi looks nice (just as classy) but they were not within Nagoya Hill Mall proximity. But to compromise the lost of the Nagoya Hill Mall,there is BCS Mall,technically it should be Batam 2nd most frequented mall by tourist. It also has theater.

You will be at the Penuin area,which mean away even further from NED and most cheonging places. Penuin is known better for its good variety of nice food tho.

There used to be an old saying in the previous Batam thread that has been closed,if you wish to party,stay around NED area. If you are targeting booking joint,go for Formosa hotel. If you aim to go for cheap massage,Utama area is better and if you are heading to Batam for their good and better food,Penuin area is better. The almost middle of it all is Formosa Hotel.

Its Indo Rasa Massage for starter. I am not going to share everything out here in one shot,otherwise the good places where I use to revitalize will be badly abused.
