SINGAPORE - Stomp reported that a woman tried to resist police arrest in a Geylang raid and even bit a police officer four times.

According to Shin Min Daily News, the police conducted the raid at about 10am Tuesday (Jul 15) to flush out vice-related activities at the shophouses along Lorong 24 Geylang.

Shin Min was alerted to the raid by a reader who saw police officers in plainclothes arresting the woman. There were around 40 to 50 onlookers at the scene.

Lee, a 50-year-old taxi driver, said he saw plainclothes police officers conducting the raid and immediately took pictures of the woman who was engaged in a tussle with the police officers with his phone.

The woman who assaulted the police officer tried to escape in a car, and two police officers chased her for 50 metres.

11 women from Vietnam were arrested in this raid.

The survey’s methodology is based on representative questioning of people asked to rate the expected quality of their future live – in 5 years from now – and gives the percentage of those who rate their future more pessimistic than their current life.

While Greece topped the list of pessimistic countries globally with 38 per cent of respondents pessimistic about the direction of their lives, Singapore ranks 8 with 26 per cent of the people questioned saying that their are pessimistic. Apparently people also feel shortcomings in interpersonal interaction.

Gallup said that optimism is often found among those with low current life ratings, as is the case in less developed nations. In countries where residents generally rate their lives poorly, people tend to expect their lives to improve, likely because they cannot fathom their lives getting worse.

In countries where residents already give their current lives high ratings, people are somewhat more likely to expect their lives to stay the same. Technically, those who rate their current lives as high as possible have no chance of being termed optimistic, as their future life rating cannot exceed that score.

The above table shows the most pessimistic countries in ASEAN (percentage of the population that thinks their quality of life will become worse in 5 years from now). Singapore by far takes the lead, with other ASEAN nations being much more "optimistic."

Now the situation is totally different from what is happening few years back ;) many of the VBs that cum here to work in the pubs & ktvs do not need those snakeheads to bring them here anymore cos there are a lot of old birds (so called old birds after coming here for just 2 to 3 trips) bringing their frens / relatives / sisters...ETC and doing all the arrangements themselves ;)

Only exception are still those streetwalkers cos they still need the snakeheads :cool:

depends where they work lah..of cos if they work KTV in Sinkie u cant compare it as factory worker or waiteress in Saigon tio bo.

if they also work at KTV in Saigon,for instance KTV 700.gals get an average tips of 500k for per room.sometimes if they are lucky,they do get the chance of sitting 2 customers if the 1st customer leave early.

Nope confirmed chop signed guaranteed not true, no way she can get PR or even re-entry into Sinkapor if she have been convicted before ;) once you are jailed for any criminal offences here you shall be repatriated upon release and if you do happened to already have PR status then it shall be revoked :cool:

u will be mostly travelling and short visit here and there...why tire yourself so much by packing so many places in short trip...you may miss your flight...:)

Very packed, the travelling to Mui Ne will already take up easily 6 hours of your time 1-way so u can't relax or enjoy much ;)

You can book on the day before from those travel agent shops in HCM for those 1 day or 2 days trip to Mekong Delta, but must be the day before and not on the actual day as they leave very early :D
