Some people prefer SC. Some people prefer Nana. SC is closer to you. Takes about 10-12 minutes from Huai Khwang MRT (via MRT.) You could probably walk to Nana from SC, and maybe stop by Thermae on the way ;) Watch out for ladyboys along Sukhumvit.

I guess the 4k price you cite was for Long Time. It tend to be the norm in RB bars and other Jap-oriented bars, it's still possible to get 3K in other Gogos (at least it was possible untill my last visit in June) (also read reports in other forums of farang paying 3k lt in RB4, but I am a bit doubtful).

Never pay upfront, in particular for LT! If the girl asks you to pay upfront, it often means:
- the girl delivers very poor service and had problems with unsatisfied customers,
- the girl makes you pay for LT and intends to go home after 1 hour or 1 shot (my sister has no key room, I must go)- most frequent case
- or even worst, she has her periods :)

Went to BKK last week and headed down NANA entertainment plaza, went to recce through all the agogo bars and I would say ANGEL WITCH is the best for entertainment, not necessarily the prettiest gals, but at least they have shows which keep u laughing and entertained.

Since you did your home work, I'll add on with some missing infos. Going to go go bars can cause you big hole on your pocket, especially Baccara.

Entrance drinks= 180฿ regardless you drink coke or plain mineral water. I'm not sure if the farang carrying the big signboard at the entrance is still there, asking you to buy drink before you enter. But it's subjective. If you look like yipun, you can order your drink inside, and has the previliges to walk walk see see first. (This is what I saw during my days last month) Double standard.

Bar fine with ladies drinks, easily close to 800฿.

If you intend to get ST, 2.5K฿ so total bill you can expect is about 3.5k฿.

With this amount of money, you either getting ST at 2.5k฿ or top up abit more to enjoy LT with the SYT. :p there's no ladies drink or bar fine fees. Just walk up straight and ask. Otherwise you always can buy them orange juice to break ice first before proceed to the next level.

Tune hotel is at soi 14. It's very near to scratch dog, cowboy and Star Wars Catina. All walkable, even to nana also if you want. These are some of the pick up points for Asian like us. There's some other discos which cater more to farang likely.

Nana - Rainbow 1,2 and 4 is still the best with ST rates going from 2.5 - 3k and LT 4 - 4.5k

Note that there are 2 Angelwitch bars now. My advise? Go for the one at the second level as the first level girls are for people who likes more meaty girls.

Business as usual here, many punters around and rates seems to have increase dramatically.

I was quoted ST - 3k and LT - 6k not including barfine. Can't believe few months back rate was only 2.5 and 5 k respectively. As Bangkok's biggest red light district in terms of Pay For Play (P4P) options, the areas surrounding Nana Entertainment Plaza (NEP) is hard to compete against. NEP is where the heart of the districts activity is centered around.

Thai Free Lancers (FL) are up and down parts of Sukhumvit Soi 4 aka Soi Nana. So called Russian FLs (actually from former Soviet Central Asia republics) are further in the soi, across the road, at Rajah Hotel. Middle Eastern hookers near the entrance of Soi 3. African street walkers are on Sukhumvit 7/1, muscling out what was once a Thai FL/katoey stronghold. There are a lot of small beer bars and popular pubs all over the area and especially along Soi Nana to pick up ladies.

Noobies Guide to Soi Cowboy

Soi Cowboy is popular with the expat community in Bangkok and that's a good sign. Going where the experienced expats go is a good indication of where the good restaurants are and the same goes true for go go bars. The drinks in the go go bars at Soi Cowboy have gone up in price. But don't worry it's still cheaper compared to Singapore TD prices. The best thing of all is that most of the bars in Soi Cowboy do have Happy Hours or drink specials such as a 2 for 1 or cheap draft beers.

The most popular go go bars in my opinion are Suzy Wong's, Shark Bar, Doll House, Baccara, Spice Girls and the futuristic looking Tilac Bar. These go go bars have the most ladies which increases the probability of meeting prettier girls. They have been around since Soi Cowboy first started but are constantly keeping themselves fresh and reinventing themselves ever so often to keep up with the times and competition.

Do note that girls come and go. This industry has a high turnover rate. You would be lucky to come back 3 months later and your best GFE girl which you bar fined on your last trip is still at where you found her.

Some of the go go bars in Soi Cowboy are unique such as Baccara where you can watch girls dance above, PANTYLESS!, beneath a glass ceiling. Sometimes in bikinis and a couple of times in the nude, which is technically illegal, but so is prostitution. There are loads of girls who are dressed in school uniforms which I'm sure are fulfilling a lot of male fetishes. Just note that Baccara seems to be the only gogo in Bangkok that has a cover charge on Saturdays and Fridays! Bht180 for a standard drink (that means a Coke also). Its to discourage all those Cheap Charlies that don't order any drinks but take up space in the bar. Its very popular with the North Asian crowds i.e. Japs. Koreans and overseas Chinese so the girls there tend to be of fairer skin and sharper features.

Speaking about unique bars, there are two specialty bars to check out. I hope you're not shy though because in Afterskool customers can have a beer while a lady gives gives them oral sex. Believe me you're going to need the beer because almost anyone could watch as there really is no privacy. Just a part of the bar they call the naughty corner. Toy Bar on the other hand (no pun intended) only provides hand relief. But to be honest anything pretty much goes inside.

Another great place to hang out is Country Road where they have live music & pool. My friends and I always have fun there. You can also head right across the street to Penny Black to shoot some pool eat some pub fare and check out the loads of girls that hang out there late into the night.

Bar Fines, drinks, ST and LT rates are the same as NEP so I won't repeat myself.

Getting There
Soi Cowboy is located between Asoke road and Sukhumvit Soi 23. You can't miss it especially when the sun has gone down and the neon lights are up. Closest train stations are Asoke (BTS) and Sukhumvit (MRT).

Note: At the time of writing this guide protesters against the current government are have occupied Asoke Road. Access via Soi Cowboy by this side is strongly advised against. Go to Soi Cowboy via Sukhumvit Soi 23. Take the MRT/BTS rather than a taxi. The bars are still open but girls and punters are lesser.

Patpong is a strange mix of sex for sale with over-priced souvenirs on the side. Where one can easily see men charmed by the gyrating hips of go go bar girls side by side with hordes of middle aged Mainland Chinese tourists checking out "Sawadee Thailand" tee shirts. Patpong is also the where you find the most persistent and irritating touts especially for the sex shows.

And it's not only a red light district where you can shop for trinkets. Patpong is the only place where you can watch live sex shows and acts. But be cautious as most places operating sex shows are out to scam you! You heard of that "someone you know or someone who knows someone story"? More of that later...

Patpong is not just for heterosexuals either. There are several gay hotspots with several locations ranging from chic style gay bars of Silom Soi 4 to the rawness of Soi Twilight's gay go go bars. So if anyone is so inclined to see gogo boys with their dicks hanging out I can make the arrangements. :D

As you can see Patpong is a district full of contrast. Even though it's nightlife atmosphere is not the favorite among expats and seasoned visitors to Bangkok's go go bar scene, Patpong is still worthy of a visit and a beer or two at one of the King's group bars.

Patpong's nightlife is a little bit more spread out. However, its go go bars are all concentrated into two streets; Patpong Soi 1 and Patpong Soi 2.

Patpong 1 has the most go go bars, including the more popular King's group establishments such as King's Castle 1, 2 and 3. When 7pm rolls in the famous Night Market opens up for business right on the street of Patpong 1.

Since the days of the Vietnam era Patpong has long held the bragging rights as the best go go bar district in Bangkok. Today its reputation has wavered a bit amongst the rapid commercialization spreading throughout the Silom District and the improvements made in Soi Cowboy and Nana.

However, Patpong's go go bars are still a raw front for prostitution and now matter how many markets and commercial brand named stores open up in the area, the sale of sex will still be the top money maker and attraction for male tourists. All go go bars are located in Patpong Soi 1 and Patpong Soi 2. As mentioned earlier, your best chances of finding attractive bar girls or ladyboys are in a group of bars called King's and Queen's name in it. They are a name that is well established in Patpong to the point they are almost an institution.

Keep in mind only King's Castle 3 features an all ladyboy cast of bar girls. And the ladyboys inside do quote higher prices but are said to give the best blowjobs! You decide! 555+

On Patpong Soi 2 you will find a handful of newer bars that are worth checking out too. And they too have a fair share of attractive bar girls, giving the bars on the opposite end a run for the money. Bada Bing and Black Pagoda are some serious competitors in Patpong's go go bar arena.

There are also a few alternatives types of bars. The first are a set of popular blow job bars also located in Soi 2, Star of Love and Mike's Place. Both bars charge about 800THB for a blow job and you can short time the girls as as well for around 1500THB to 2000THB.

Sex show bars or establishments are usually on the second floors along Patpong Soi 1 and a few places on Soi 2. Don't worry about finding a sex show bar because there are plenty of touts standing around carrying small menus advertising whats on offer.

Essentially these are bars with way overpriced drinks that seem cheap at first. So if a tout tells you a beer cost 100THB you might as well double that amount. And they'll say that the show is free to watch might also be a lie as you'll only ending up finding out when they hand you the bill and your way is blocked by a couple of Thai thugs high on meth. Going to the Tourist Police is also of little help since their effectively at best an information counter.

But as I mentioned earlier if you have the extra cash to blow and don't mind paying extras you might as well take a look see and find out what the fuss is all about. You'd either enjoy Thai bar girls shooting ping pong balls and pulling razors out of their vaginas or run to the bathroom puking.

Status Report on Agogo

8pm - Went to Nana - Lollipop. Early in Evening, not much to see, Quality isn't great maybe 6/10. LD is 150, your drink also 150. Bar fine is 700baht

9.30pm - Went to Soi Cowboy - Bacara. Many girls, but also many guys. More gals than guys 2:1. Quality is good, maybe 8/10. Drink is 180 Baht

10.00pm - Went to Shark Bar. Many girls, but less guys. Ratio maybe 3-4:1. Quality is 7/10. Barfine is 600baht. A gal approached, 7/10 - sat with me for a while, i buy her LD, but wasn't interested in taking her back ST yet as it was early. So she went back dancing, and I went off.

The management seems to be getting more desperate to rip off customers.
Ordered a Heineken beer and the waitress will now only serve you a glass of beer and some even demanded you to pay that 155 baht on the spot for a glass of beer.
Rainbow 4 don't serve bottle beer anymore. In fact you don't even know which brand of beer you are being served unless you can really taste the difference.

I believe all other Rainbow joints could be following the same way of serving beer as well.
You ended up paying more for a glass instead of the bottle. I see lesser gals being bar fined as compared to previous times. Never ask the price but i think the gals will charge you high price for ST and also lady drinks.
