Hi bro,
got this from the Jakarta post.
Thought this might help when you bros cheong in Jakarta.

Contentious articles in the porn bill:

1. Article 1: Definition
Pornography is drawings, sketches, illustrations, photographs, texts, voices, sound, moving pictures, animations, cartoons, poetry, conversations, gestures, or other forms of communicative messages through various kinds of media; and/or performances in front of the public, which may incite obscenity, sexual exploitation and/or violate moral ethics in the community.
Feared impact:
The definition is open to all kinds of interpretation, such as how to define gestures that incite obscenity or sexual exploitation, and will be subject to debate.

2. Articles 20-23: Public Participation
The public can play a role in preventing the production, distribution and use of pornography...by...(d) supervising people on the danger of pornography.
Feared impact:
This article could be used by certain groups to take the law into their own hands by attacking people they believe are violating the law.

3. Articles 8, 34, 36: Criminalization of victims
The articles threatens up to 10 years in prison or Rp 5 billion in fines for violators of the law.
Feared impact:
Artists or models in art shows or productions could be punished for their creativity.

U think you cock so big and have priority service??

Talk some sense pls...
Hi bro rainman,
I have beg the differ, the first time I there I could not even get a locker key for about an hour, that is how full that place is.
I have been a few times, never have I even my choice without the feeling that if we do not pick the girls quickly, they will be pick up by someone else.
The ratios of girls to guys there is really bad, even though there many girls there available. The guys just about out number them.
Is like being at Bats at ladies night, too few ladies and too many guys hunting, not a great feeling.

Hi bro Aakumu,
Thanks for the info, The sex travel company's car pick me up, the guide was a girl WOW, it was fun they took me to Alexis hotel, it is a full services spa everything is there. Like bros before me have posted lots of fun.
But one thing I notice is that if you had come alone, you will be waiting for long time to even get a massage room and some of the girls are on waiting list; so the guys had to wait at the bar.
Lucky, the sex travel company did some kind of arrangement with Alexis that I got a room and all my guide had to do was take me to my room and she went to get the mamasan the bring me all the girls.
After I had finish my girl, I was shock to see the same guys at the bar that have not even got their room to bonk yet.

It says how popular Alexis, but it also says that I spend my money well having someone to take care of me; if not I would have been like all the rest of the customer waiting in line.
There will more report in the coming days.

Cheers.

Hi bro,
I have agree with you, having someone that can prepare and arrange things up for you is great.
Now even more so; with the porn bill out, you do not want to be caught with your pants down.

Cheers.

I would like to advice that you follow the procedure and apply for a bona fide business visa. Since you are there for business and want to remain trouble free then it is wise for you to apply for one.

I am sure your Indonesian Business Partner can fax you a letter sponsoring your visa application.

Follow the procedures and get a valid visa and make your stay trouble free after all this won't be the first time your are in that country.

Actually it's very simple, if asked, just tell them that you are there for meeting/discussion, and there's no need to apply any visa just to do that. Well, unless you are there really to do work, and I mean hands on type of work, otherwise it'll be ok lah....

Pak, business meeting is considered work and according to Indonesian Law, one has to apply for a business visa. In fact there are some 30+ types of visa with several of them relating to work / business meeting etc. Its complicated.

To apply for a business visa, get a letter from your friend company. THen with that letter, go to Indo Embassy in Singapore. Takes 3 working days to process.

Valid for 1 year, cost about sing 120? Cant remember. You can stay up to 60 days per visit.

WARNING: The visa is for you to visit THAT PARTICULAR company only, you cannot work in that factory, and becareful when you go other factories. Rivals may "get"the police to extort money from you. So, if you go else where, be sure that your friend follow you.

Hi bro, Something from the Jakarta Post.

Forum: Passing anti-porn bill

Mon, 11/03/2008 10:16 AM | Reader's Forum

The anti-pornography law is overkill. There are laws and regulations in the book that prohibit the sale, distribution and production of pornographic material. To date, these have not been applied. The new law will simply increase the interests of the oversexed people and the prices of these offensive materials.

The children of Indonesia will not be in any way more protected. If anything, they will be more likely to be victimized.

In the meantime the oversexed and immoral men will continue to prey on young girls and even boys, especially those who are financially challenged.

Our government, Police and many individuals continue to tolerate child brides, contract marriages, unofficial marriagesmarriages"), polygamy (that definitely encourages corruption and is truly demeaning to women and disastrous for children) which are insidious but politically acceptable to many.

Our legislators should have paid more attention to the more urgent matters such as corruption amongst their numbers, the poor state of our nation and deteriorating economy of Indonesia.

222? A makan place, Ruko. Behind harmoni. You travel from Tua Pek tong to the direction of Nagoya hill, it is on the left, make a turn towards Lucky plaza and it is the first shop on the left. There the bawang chicken one of the best. Halal food, no pork, cooked by chinese.

Like sam says, try not to disclose your identity or someone may use to harm you. No offence to you as a senior samster, but I have my reasons not to disclose.

Perhaps, we have met, cheonging in Jakarta or Batam, but definately not in KTVs, or discos, as that is not my likes. However, maybe in Spa, or Massage Purlors.

ASIAN BRAD PITT? No lah, I am dark haired person. Smoker, drinker :D. 222 has the best ayam bawang I tasted in Batam. No others come close. Nagoya food court? Some times alone, just order some food and drink. If group of friends come, I prefer A1. The food, SAMUDRA? next to the singing stage? That is my favorite. Best cook there. Reasonable price. As for drinks, any gals that come to me will do. :) No preference.

My drink buddy has one of the gals as fuck buddy, although he tip her each time. Heard from him that these gals get a commisson after X number of drinks sold. Now, know why they always drink for you? So you pay more! hahaha.

HI bro,
Some interesting reading on Jakarta.

Sunday, October 05, 2008
Of Premen & Policemen
Ian Wilson is a research fellow at the Asia Research Centre, Murdoch University. He has recently completed a book on gangster politics in Jakarta to be published by Routledge Press.

Knowing only a littl about the preman culture in Jakarta I found this article an excellent read on the thug culture. I have reprinted exactly as I found it as there is nothing that I can do to add or place a "spin" on it. The photographs are Ian's as well

The ‘preman’ – a colloquial term for a thug or gangster – has long been a ubiquitous figure in urban life in Indonesia. In recent years, however, preman have attained a new stature. Fractious local politics, inadequate law enforcement and the driving forces of poverty and unemployment have transformed post-Suharto Indonesia into a ‘preman’s paradise’. Preman now can be found not only in street corner gangs but also in mass organisations with thousands of members. Their leaders often have close connections with political elites.

However, despite their growing influence as social and political actors, preman have remained a largetalk shows such as Kick Andy. However, the lives of most people labellely anonymous social class. There is a handful of ‘celebrity’ gangsters, such as Hercules, the former ‘gangster king’ of the Jakarta market district of Tanah Abang, whose exploits are the regular subject of tabloid press exposés and TV d as preman are usually reflected only through the distorted lens of popular crime reportage and police statistics. The image that emerges in the popular imagination is a dehumanising caricature of ‘brutal thugs’ and ‘society’s garbage’ who deserve no understanding and have no possibility of transformation. The following account attempts to portray some of the contradictions and complexities of the world of preman by focusing upon the story of a Jakarta gangster known as Bang Aa (a pseudonym).

Harsh beginnings
Bang Aa was born in Jakarta in 1970. The son of a bajai taxi driver, he was forced by poverty to leave school at the age of 12. Heading into his teens he found himself without work and with few prospects. Bang Aa eked out a living providing ‘security’ for the numerous vendors and stalls surrounding the Pasar Minggu market in South Jakarta, especially its ‘warung remang-remang’, shady stalls where cheap alcohol and prostitutes are readily available. He became a heavy drinker and gained a reputation as a vicious fighter with a short temper, regularly dishing out beatings to troublesome patrons. Seeing his potential, Bang Marta, a senior preman in Pasar Minggu, took Bang Aa under his wing. Bang Marta emphasised to him the importance of building a reputation for being ‘not just hard, but also fair’, if he wanted to survive.

Fear may help you get food for today, but in the long term it will become your undoing
Bang Aa took his advice. After marrying, he resolved to curb his drinking and reduce his links to prostitution. He promised to ‘straighten himself out’: He recalls, ‘I realised that while I was feared, I was not respected. Fear may help you get food for today, but in the long term it will become your undoing. I had to figure out a way of gaining respect.’

He entered a local pesantren religious school in order to study the Quran and seek ‘inspiration’. There he met a member of the Betawi Brotherhood Forum (FBR), an ethnic paramilitary group which since its establishment in 2002 has exerted increasing influence over Jakarta’s gang landscape. Impressed by his fellow students’ description of the FBR’s claimed mission of combating crime and improving the social and economic welfare of Jakarta’s indigenous population, Bang Aa, an ethnic Betawi himself, decided to open his own branch of the organisation in Pasar Minggu.

Making the most out of nothing
As Bang Aa explained, ‘I was determined to take the few skills I possessed, namely an ability to persuade people either through my words or fists, and use this to create a sustainable livelihood for myself and others like me’. His decision to set up a new gang in Pasar Minggu was politically dangerous. The area was already home to a number of well-entrenched gangs and paramilitary organisations, and there were frequent outbreaks of violence over territorial boundaries and protection rackets.

The trick is to manipulate the process of consensus so that others accept your views whilst believing them to be their own. In that way you can achieve dominance without having to resort to physical conflict
In order to negotiate this tangle of inter-gang rivalries, Bang Aa helped establish the Pasar Minggu Youth Communication Forum, ostensibly meant to provide a medium through which gangs could peacefully negotiate territorial disputes. Gaining the trust of the gangs’ leaders and a reputation as something of a preman diplomat, Bang Aa used his position as a unifying figure to gain a following.

In 2004, when he felt confident his support base was sufficient he announced his intention to set up an FBR branch. The rival leaders were initially outraged. But they were neutered in their response by Bang Aa’s skilful exploitation of tensions within the forum, Bang Marta’s support among rank and file preman, as well as the conspicuous backing of the FBR leadership. Bang Aa described his political strategy as follows: ‘the trick was to manipulate the process of consensus so that others accepted your views whilst believing them to be their own. In that way you can achieve dominance without having to resort to physical conflict.’

A command post of the Betawi Brotherhood Forum, Pasar Minggu, Jakarta. The gang uses these posts to establish protection rackets

Within a few months, membership of Bang Aa’s FBR branch (named the ‘Crime Destroyer Team’) had grown to over 400, making it the largest gang in Pasar Minggu. Many new members were defectors from rival gangs, attracted by the high profile of the FBR and the reputations of Bang Aa and Bang Marta. ‘Donations’ from local businesses funded the construction of an impressive guard post at the entrance to the Pasar Minggu bus terminal, from where the group monitored comings and goings at the market and extracted fees from inter-province cargo trucks.

Making the most of his growing power and influence, Bang Aa instigated a new regime in Pasar Minggu. He continued with the preman staple of providing protection, by which stallholders are forced to pay daily ‘security fees’, with the threat of violent reprisal if they refuse. He also set up a roster system whereby Crime Destroyer members were paid a regular fee by vendors to sweep the markets of leftover food scraps. The scheme was a huge success. The Crime Destroyers further consolidated their legitimacy in the eyes of the local population by sponsoring mass circumcisions and making regular contributions to an orphanage. Rivals gangs were appeased by being allocated ‘hunting grounds’ on the margins of the market district, even though they were less lucrative than the market proper.

The attitude of the Crime Destroyers towards challenges to its authority within its territory was uncompromising. As Bang Aa explained, ‘We are from the street, so we know who the trouble-makers are. We say to pickpockets and petty thieves, if you want to make trouble here you will have to deal with us. If you want to work do honest work, even better… join us! Usually that’s enough as they are scared of us. But if they still go and make trouble… we wipe them out.’ A local bus company was so impressed by their effectiveness in ridding the terminal of thieves that it contracted the group to provide security on all its major routes.

The success of the Crime Destroyers provided enough capital to buy the support of the local police. The gang became ‘community sponsors’ of the under-resourced police station, supplying it with drinking water and stationery. In return, the police turned a blind eye to the Crime Destroyers occasional ‘excesses’, such as hospitalising a truck driver who refused to pay them dues and breaking the arms of a youth wrongfully accused of stealing a motorbike. In short, the police effectively outsourced many daily policing tasks to the gang. As Bang Aa stated, ‘If you don’t pay the cops they won’t do anything. As the saying goes, you lose a chicken and report it to the police, you end up losing a goat! Its cheaper for people to come to us to resolve a problem, and the police are content to let us handle most minor issues and petty crime as long as we pass them some money and keep them informed of what we’re doing.’

A crisis of conscience
The success of Bang Aa’s mini-empire however was soon disrupted, not by a rival gang, but by an ethical dilemma. In May 2007 a branch of the FBR in a different part of Jakarta attacked the Kemayoran Lama market that was controlled by a rival group, the Betawi Family Association (IKB), in an abortive take-over bid of the area’s lucrative parking business. The attack resulted in the deaths of two FBR members. This defeat at the hands of a smaller group was a significant loss of face for the FBR, which responded with a ‘call to arms’ to all its branches to launch a counter assault. To Bang Aa the attack was both a tactical and ethical mistake. The FBR had no presence in the area and consequently no local support, almost guaranteeing that any takeover bid would fail. It had also breached an unwritten rule amongst preman: rival gangs should not physically encroach on the turf of established gangs without due provocation or requests from the local population.

My humble two cents.

Part two,

If you don’t pay the cops they won’t do anything. As the saying goes, you lose a chicken and report it to the police, you end up losing a goat
Bang Aa’s superiors were less concerned with these ethical constraints. One insisted, ‘This is a war, and in a war you have to maintain face at all costs. If we lose a few troops in the process then so be it!’ After much consideration, Bang Aa refused to sacrifice any of his Crime Destroyers as part of the counter-assault. This was taken as an act of gross insubordination by the FBR’s leadership and Bang Aa was forced to tender his resignation. He did so reluctantly but in his words, ‘with a clear conscience’: ‘I realised that ultimately our welfare was of no real concern for the leadership… to them we were just expendable pawns in their political games.’

Backed into a corner
Bang Aa soon understood that leaving the FBR had consequences. The man who replaced him as leader of the Crime Destroyers was keen to stamp his authority over what was one of the organisation’s most lucrative branches. Bang Aa was now verbally and physically harassed whenever he ventured into his former domain. The one-time ‘King of the Market’ became a shadow of his former self, spending much of his time smoking cigarettes and watching TV inside his cramped two-bedroom home with his wife and children. His sources of income began to dry up.

While on my way to visit Bang Aa soon after his resignation, I was accosted by his successor. Angry that a foreigner was visiting Bang Aa rather than him, he aggressively poked at my chest whilst outlining the new pecking order: ‘You have to understand Bang Aa is a nobody here now. You are welcome to keep coming to Pasar Minggu, but you have to do it through me.’ The response from some of his ‘lads’ was even more forthright: ‘Bang Aa is a traitor, and if he or his boys show their faces around here we will kick their arses! If you are sensible you won’t contact him again

Despite still having a band of several dozen loyal followers, Bang Aa found life in Pasar Minggu increasingly untenable. ‘I can’t be bothered going into the market these days’, he moaned, ‘there could easily be a misunderstanding.’ Within the world of preman, deposed or former leaders are expected to keep a low profile lest their presence in the streets be considered a challenge. Bang Aa was all too aware of the possible consequences of not doing so. Several months earlier a preman associate of his who returned to his neighbourhood after a stint in prison had been hacked to pieces by rivals who had taken his absence as an opportunity to take over his turf.

After two months of enduring what effectively amounted to house arrest, the reality that his days in Pasar Minggu were numbered finally sunk in. ‘There is no future here now for me and my family. The best I can do is try to save enough money so that we can move and make a new life somewhere else.’

Putting aside moral judgements about his preman’s reliance upon violence and intimidation, in many ways Bang Aa’s story reflects the dilemmas facing many of Indonesia’s poor and disenfranchised: how best to negotiate the complex and often unforgiving web of contradictions in which the poor live and how best to create, with the limited social and economic resources at their disposal, a sustainable and ‘legitimate’ livelihood.

Superb Stuff. I look forward to the book when it is published

So you pay more! hahaha.

Good DAy.

OK.. I thought u are the IT guy from New York I met in China.....

Anyway. would be there on Sat in Batam.... Pls arrange with Batam Man and we meet for either golf or pool/....

Now I am travelling about Indoland, more frequently Batam, and JB. Still sticking to batam, and jakarta spas for gals. Mutland is not my cup of tea and there are simply too many China mei mei, which I dont like.

We may have met before, in kTV or massage spa. Usually strike a conversation in the hot pool. You never know :)

Hi bro,
I agree with you, I too prefer the local to the PRC mie mei.
Well I am not so into Batam, as it is too close to home base, but J-Town I really enjoy.
I always go to AGuan's spa's, great fellow the place is not too bad.
But to really enjoy myself, I go down to Alexis and Maliboro hotel. Not the best bang for the buck but if you have the money, they will treat you like a king.

Wow, talk about these 2 places, $$$ flow like no body business. Easily cost 5 juta per cheonging.

Batam is still cheaper and like boss says, the feeling is same when you cum :D

However, Altalanta standard drop alot, use to be top on the list. A number of new spa and salon open recently, guess they are clean ones. No time to try out yet.

One that MAY have special is CROWN massage, behind harmoni, infront of 222 makan place.

The others that dont have and me go before: Bamboo Massage, Sawadika, Sports, Bahari, bali tropical( near Altanlanta), isabella( nagoya hill). Friends who want to bring their GF along for massage can go to these.

Bali Tropical is expensive, and high class, Isabella is cheaper and service is not bad, if you want clean massage, with GF.

Nagoya hill have 2 more opened recently, from the looks, it is clean, just beside the bakery. Guess will give a miss.

Hi bro,
You know a lot about Batam, I seldom go there only when I need to visit customer.
But there are cheaper places too in J-Town, but you have to know your way around, or else Kena robbed big time.
The biggest different between the two is that you could still find a bit of GFE in Jakarta much easier, I think; but then again I seldom play in Batam.
So maybe I need Sifu's help.

Hi bro,
Here goes Bali, next will be J-town.
Take care when cheonging in Jakarta.

Bali police will enforce pornography law: Chief

The Jakarta Post , Jakarta

Bali Police chief Insp. Gen. Teuku Ashikin Husein on Monday said his institution had no option but to enforce the new pornography law in the province.

"I have no option. The police must enforce every positive law in the country," he said in Denpasar, as quoted by Tempointeraktif.com.

Ashikin said the law would be implemented through a government regulation which had yet to be established.

Last week, Bali's governor and speaker of the provincial legislature announced that the province would not be able to enforce the newly passed law, saying it was not in line with Balinese philosophical and sociological values.

Ashikin, however, said the statement was not a refusal of the law.

"We will try to hold dialogues with all parties about this issue," he said.

Bali leaders and members of the public have united in an organization named the Bali People's Component to challenge the new law through the Constitutional Court.

WHY TAKE MY NIGHTLIFE TOUR INSTEAD OF TRYING TO GO SOLO

Are you seeking a NYMPHOMANIAC, an expert in massage, an innocent in need of seduction, or a mature skilled loving that is considerate, gentle, and very patient? Whether you want to seduce, be seduced, or just enjoy, I can help you find your desire.

If you have ever traveled alone for this type of pleasure, you know how much time and money you can waste just following bum leads, before you find what you want. Sometimes, by the time you do, it is time to leave.

What is true elsewhere is even more true in Indonesia. Bahasa Indonesia is difficult to learn. You can't just pick-up a book, learn few phrases and be understood. The culture is so different, and the options so vast. In fact, in Jakarta alone, if you went to different erotic establishment every night, including bars, nightclubs, short time motels, street line-up, bordello massage parlours, pick-up joints, escort agencies, it would probably take you over two years. I steer you to the best, and away from the worst.

I make sure you avoid rip-offs, like being charge USD50.00 for a bottle of beer, and explain first hand, how everything works and costs.

Even, if you cruise around to the other side of Jakarta by yourself, you will probably have a good time. It is almost impossible to have an overall bad time. But my nightlife tours are the difference between having A GOOD TIME AND A FANTASTIC TIME. And it is so affordable. Perhaps you could save USD125.00 by going alone, but I honestly believe that it would cost you more because on my nigthlife tours you avoid pitfalls and tourist rip-offs, like being overcharged by cabs and hotels. You avoid hassles like poorly located hotels, or those that suddenly decide to charge for overnight guests. And I always advice your location within reach of important nightlife, banks, and shopping centres.

On my nightlife tours you can relax and concentrate on enjoyment. You will be given detailed instructions, and met in your hotel by a capable nightlife guide, that's me, who can take care of any problems which may rise. I will make sure you are ready for every step you take. No wasting time finding what you came for. No wasting money learning the ropes.

I know where the places with the prettiest girls, lowest prices, and safest environments are. I keep you out of trouble and guide you to happiness. I give you all the help you need, BUT ONLY AS MUCH AS YOU WANT. You benefit from my years of experience from the very first minute.

And nightlife is not all, during the days, on your stay in Jakarta, I also provide extensive sightseeing of exotic sights and shopping, customized to your needs. You can even bring the girls you meet with you, for the total experience: THEIR WARM BEAUTY BESIDE YOU, THE WARM SUN ABOVE YOU, EXOTIC FOOD INSIDE YOU, AND SOME OF THE WORLD MOST FASCINATING AND MEMORABLE SIGHTS AROUND YOU. All without worrying that you are completely on your own, without back-up, thousands of miles from home.

Finally, if you go on one of my small group nightlife tours, the party atmosphere combines with private pleasure to create what many men have described as the ultimate turn-on. IT IS LIKE GOING TO A BACHELOR PARTY WITH GREAT SIMILARLY THINKING FRIENDS, FILLED WITH GORGEOUS INDONESIAN LADIES WHO ALWAYS SAY YES.

WHAT JAKARTA HAS TO OFFER

Jakarta's nightlife is no longer the well-kept secret it once was. It offers a sophisticated western nightlife. In fact, it has never been better.

JAKARTA AFTER DARK offers exclusive nightlife tours of the hottest spots in Jakarta to meet the most available women, allowing you to fulfill your desire. Night clubs, bars, street line-ups, hotel massage services, massage parlours, spas, pick-up joints, dispatchers, and escort agencies/houses are all yours to experience.

***Our specialized and individualized services are tailor-made to BUDGETS and PREFERENCES.

Jakarta itself is like a big Adult Disneyland. If you went to different erotic establishment every night, it would probably take you over two years. We know establishments with area of competence. We steer you to the best and away from the worst.

Even if you cruise Jakarta by yourself, you will probably have a good time. It is almost impossible to have an overall bad time. Perhaps you could save our nightlife tour fees by going alone. But we honestly believe that it would cost you more because on our tour you avoid pitfalls and tourist rip-offs, like that USD50.00 beer or that USD100.00 taxi ride or that agency that suddenly decides to charge USD500.00 for a USD15.00 brothel worker.

These rates are fixed.

EXPAT/ETHNIC PICK-UP BARS

There are 2 types of Expat/Ethnic Pick-Up Bars. Hotel Expat Pick-Up Bar and Lower End Expat Pick-Up Bar. Drinks are extremely expensive at Hotel Expat Pick-Up Bar. Typically 5 times than Lower End Expat pick-up Bar. I really mean 120K Rupiah (USD13.00) for a glass of cocktail. Dispatcher normally bills by 3 hours block for companionship, double for overnight, and triple for 1 day. 3 hours block rates range from 3 Million to 7 Million Rupiah (USD335.00 to USD780.00). These rates are fixed. Dispatcher normally works with picture or descriptions or line-up in the privacy of your hotel room. Dispatcher is the mobile version of Escort Agency. Jombang police nab student over porn video

The Jakarta Post | Thu, 11/13/2008 10:06 PM | National
The Jombang Police arrested a high-school boy Thursday for having a digital video deemed pornographic in his mobile phone, Antara newswire reported.

The boy was taken into custody at his school, SMA Negeri 3, during class hours and later taken to the police station. The police were in the school conducting a raid after receiving public complaints about a digital pornographic video making the rounds on mobile phones at the school.

During the raid, police asked students to leave their classes and assemble in the school's playing field, where police told them to submit their phones for inspection. The whole process was fully assisted by the teachers.

Some students said that individuals recorded in the digital video were students of a local Muslim high school, Madrasah Aliyah Negeri.

Jombang Police public order head Sugeng Widodo said the raid was necessary to curb public outcry over the distribution of the video.

"We conducted raids in this school and others so this problem would not hamper school activities," he said. (and)

Hi bro,
Do you feel safer?

Public transportation drivers, street vendors, traditional market traders and commuters in Tangerang are among those feeling peace returning to their areas following a series of police raids on thugs.

"I hope the police confine them for good," said a food vendor who witnessed a police raid at Poris Plawad bus terminal recently.

Most vendors said they felt powerless against hoodlums, who rarely hesitate to use violence when they don't get what they want.

"I have had enough of them," said a public minivan driver in Cimone who requested anonymity, adding that the thugs always asked for "security" money.

So far Tangerang Police have arrested 659 men for petty street crimes, with 337 of them netted in Tangerang regency, 272 in Tangerang municipality, while the remaining 50 were arrested at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

"Most of those who were arrested in public places were caught red-handed either gambling, drinking liquor, extorting money, carrying sharp weapons or failing to show proper identity cards," Tangerang Police chief Sr. Comr. Agus Andrianto said Friday.

He said the police would take some of the suspects with weapons to court, adding that they had freed several others after giving them stern warnings.

Gondrong, one of those arrested for carrying a sharp weapon, promised to stop extorting money from minivan drivers, adding that he carried a sharp weapon only to bluff drivers who refused to pay up.

"Officers are right and extorting money is wrong. If I'm freed later, I will find a job and will no longer cause any trouble," he said.

Comr. Deddy Kurniawan, the officer in charge of the operation at Tangerang Police, said the police needed to take stern action against thugs so that the public were encouraged to report any crimes they encountered.

Nonetheless, the police action against thuggery is not without its critics.

Bambang Jatmiko, one of the freed detainees said the police had mostly arrested the wrong men.

"I am not a hoodlum. I've never caused unrest," he said, adding that he and several other detainees were just a group of men who earned money as street musicians.

My humble two cents.

Hi bro,
Something to read and ponder.

Editorial: Obscene beyond porn

Wed, 11/12/2008 10:52 AM | Opinion

The younger brother of Amrozi, one of the Bali bombers executed early Sunday, said he was proud his brother had never burdened his parents. As a boy he earned his own money by selling newspapers, a report said.

In another report prior to the long-delayed execution, Amrozi's mother was pictured receiving little guests, a kindergarten class, with their laughing teacher among her many visitors.

For some, media outlets delivered more than their audience cared to know about the convicted terrorists and their families. The media's strategy, nevertheless, is to give as much information as possible to satiate public curiosity.

Not surprisingly some people said they were relieved when the execution finally took place, regardless of whether they approved of the death penalty -- just because it meant the circus was over.

Amid the zealous efforts to protect society from porn, we may have forgotten what is more obscene than the parade of flesh: the parade of violence and religious rhetoric justifying violence.

True, media consumers have the complete freedom not to read or watch what they do not like. But the perception we possess unbounded freedom with no degree of prudence in how we use it has provided ample excuses for introducing laws to curb such liberty.

With all the technological means at hand, the race to give the public what it wants is limited only by the creativity of the "media vultures", to borrow a moniker from critics.

Vultures, so the popular perception goes, swoop down and devour whatever pitiable prey lies dead or dying. In the name of delivering as much as possible as fast as possible, journalists and reporters assume their audience desires all the details they manage to dig up. Drama and "human interest" are classic ingredients for delightful or heart-wrenching stories to engage the public.

Despite some high-profile celebrity lawsuits charging the media with invasion of privacy, many of us in the newsroom continue relying on those ingredients to unearth juicy tidbits about high-profile people.

Often we forget, however, that what we may perceive as interest borders on sickness.

Media principles have been subverted and now line up behind the marketing rule, "the public wants what the public gets".

It may be fun to see all the hairstyles of little Suri, though parents Kate and Tom Cruise may wish for less exposure for their child. And the new First Kids in the White House are seeing only their initial days of many in the spotlight.

But the media here, in spite of and because of all its freedom, has yet to draw the line distinguishing what is human interest from what does not merit the ink and costly airtime, when it comes to those convicted of heinous crimes or anyone briefly in the spotlight for their questionable behavior. Clearly weak law enforcement has helped to blur the line separating good and bad guys in a major way: Any miscreant need only lie low for a few years after being convicted to resurface graced with our generous ambience of amnesia.

We are not for harsher measures against the press; we are all for overturning the clauses in the press law which could land us in jail and lead us back to the traumatic days of heavy self-censorship and looking over our shoulders for Big Brother.

But after 10 years of freedom we know the media could well do far more self-regulation. By meeting that obligation we can stave off popular calls for laws to regulate what people can broadcast or consume in their living rooms.

Let us underline, self-regulation should not be interpreted as a version of New Order self-censorship.

A responsible and open media should not just convey random, crude and unadulterated information. It is our task to ensure a free media presents knowledge to civil society.

Information is not knowledge, and knowledge is certainly a few steps away from wisdom.

How much are we truly contributing to an informed civil society by glorifying the murderers of over 200 people?

The irony is that, while the Bali bombers were rightly executed as cold-blooded murderers, ultimately it is the media who made their dream come true by turning them into martyrs.

My humble two cents.

Nice living room with big dining table n chair for 8 persons, hall with 3 LCD TV for KTV and the sound system is very good,.......

Next to the hall in the open is a jacuzzi for 4 persons. try it with friends and too bad no girls.

There is a sauna room for 3 and a joint shower room for 4 persons....

Then there is a bar counter (with 8 bar chairs) and a professional music player inside, and we have engage our private DJ for 5 hours of party every night...... Sure was fun.

So basically we do not need to leave the place at all with room service and girls just down stair....

my friend, just be careful if you are heading into
north jkt after midnight.

to be safe, go with a local friend, dont walk on the streets after midnight
esp in north jkt. beware of the taxis at hayam waruk , some are real cheats and thugs

to be safe, you can hire a car with chaeuffer to ferry you for cheonging activities in the north, will be better.

i was once at crown disco, got a gal for ONS but on way back to my hotel at mulia by taxi, kena stop by police who wanted $$...bo pian, give them about S$30.
cut my losses

the safe places to cheong will be in the south, like CJ, BATS, red square, or embassay, dragonfly or blowfish.

th north is generally more complicated and you should go with local friends.if not , get a private car for transportation around.
jkt police are the biggest thugs in the cities :(

Guys,..... any new happening places?

Spend 3 nights in the VIP rooms of Marioboro Hotel over the week end......

3 bed rooms, all kings size bed and 2 king size bed in the master bed room divided by a curtain... must b for orgy party... All with attached bathroom and a common toilet in the hall.

I know the room is very cheap at less then 2 juta per night but total bills for the 3 days,,,,, Just drinks and food.... Rup 28 juta....

Money well spend for 12 of us guys that stay there.

Cheers

hi sweety,

there are many classes of discos in Jkt.
there are those where you go to get high and you can buy pills from the waiter.
these places like crown, stadium are typically situated in the seedier northern part of the city. they close at 5am if i am not wrong

there are those more classy bars/disco like CJ, BATS,Pula Tigah,X2,Vertigo,Embassy which are situated in the south or in 5 star hotel.
there are WL in such places. you can negotiate with them . the price ranges from 400k to 800k rupiah. varies.

SOP wise, just make eye contact and go with flow.
do note that for up mkt places like Dragonfly or blowfish, the gals are gorgeous but most of them are there just to have fun. they might not be WL.
please note on this.

if it is your first time in jkt, better to stick to the bars in the 5 star hotel.
wandering in north jkt at night can be rather dangerous. especially after 2am.

Not too sure abt that. gals complain that prices of living more ex nowdasy, cannot reduce. Hahaha.

Can always nego lah, KNN, fewer people cheong nowdays, you bagain, they will give in. Of cos, not too unreasonable rates lah.

Usually, major holidays, they will be more unwilling to lower prices. More people what!

Massage Parlours, the gals sometimes dont even get a customer a day. Usually, their business is better on weekends( fri to sundays). Ever told by a gal I am the 5th customer that day. Somedays, I am their first even at 9pm, when I go for massage.

My regulars dare not ask for more, knowing times are bad :D

City to inspect expats’ papers

Tifa Asrianti , The Jakarta Post , Jakarta | Mon, 12/01/2008 7:11 AM | Headlines

The city administration will launch on Wednesday a 10-day operation cracking down on expatriates living in Jakarta without the appropriate papers.

“The main targets of this operation are the companies that employ foreign nationals,” head of the City Population and Civil Registration Agency, Franky Mangatas Panjaitan, told The Jakarta Post on Sunday.

A team of officials from the population agency, City Manpower Agency, Immigration Office and the police will carry out the inspections, city secretary Muhayat said.

According to data held by the population agency, Jakarta is home to 49,000 foreign nationals with extendable visit permits and 5,000 permanent residents who have lived here for more than five years in a row.

Inspections will be carried out in Central Jakarta, where there are reportedly 12,045 foreign nationals, on Wednesday and Thursday.

Mohammad Hatta, head of the Central Jakarta municipal population agency, said his office usually inspected foreign nationals’ permits once a year.

The aim of the operation is to control the city population and to detect any foreign nationals staying the city illegally, he said.

“Not all foreign nationals have good intentions,” he said. “Some smuggle drugs and others become strippers.”

He said every foreign worker must hold a passport, visitor identity card (KIP) for foreign nationals issued by the administration, a temporary stay permit (KITAS) issued by the immigration office, a working license (IKTA) from the manpower agency and a letter of self-report (SMD) from the police.

He said the officers would visit companies that employed expatriates to check the documents.
“If any documents are missing, we will ask them to process them. During the inspections, we will set up a unit in the agency office on Jl. S. Parman to provide services for making documents. If any expatriates don’t have a KITAS, they can be deported,” he said.

He said companies could face penalties if they employed foreign nationals without all the required documentation.

Those found guilty of not adhering to the rules can face Rp 5 million in fines or 3 months in prison.

Kenneth, an Australian, said the inspection opera-tion could be a source of corruption.

Well done the Police of Jakarta....

Expats give mixed reaction to crackdown

Triwik Kurniasari , The Jakarta Post , Jakarta | Tue, 12/02/2008 7:20 AM | Headlines

The city administration’s plan to crack down on expatriates living in Jakarta without the appropriate documents has sparked mixed reactions from foreign nationals here.

Filipina singer Maribeth Pascua, famous for her song “Denpasar Moon”, said the plan was a good one.

“I agree. If their papers are illegal, (foreign nationals) have to be deported. I for one always follow the Immigration Office’s regulations,” said Maribeth, 37, who has lived in Indonesia for about 17 years.

Although professing to enjoying life in the country, she lamented that applying for Indonesian citizenship was a lengthy process.

She said immigration officials had suggested she work as a permanent employee of a company to gain citizenship.

Maribeth now works full-time as a lecturer in mass communications at the London School of Public Relations in Jakarta.

Fellow Filipino Birgilio Montinola said the planned inspections would be good in tracking down expatriates living here illegally, but warned the government must exercise caution in doing so.

“Many expats are here legitimately, with the intention of helping Indonesia develop its potential through their experience and knowledge, and willing to do this together with their Indonesian counterparts,” Birgilio said.

The city administration’s 10-day operation will cover Central Jakarta on Wednesday and Thursday, where there are reportedly 12,045 foreign nationals. The operation will target companies employing foreign nationals.

Mohammad Hatta, head of the Central Jakarta municipal population agency, said every foreign worker must hold a passport, visitor identity card (KIP) issued by the administration, a temporary stay permit (KITAS) issued by the immigration office, a working license (IKTA) from the manpower agency and a letter of reference (SMD) from the police.

Companies employing foreign nationals without the required papers can face stiff penalties, Hatta warned. Violators can face Rp 5 million (US$388) in fines or 3 months in jail. (fmb)

The place that have not raided maybe more prone to be raided, compare to the ones that just got raided.
So sharing which one were just have be raided would give us an idea which cheonging place to go for a safer fun time.

Hi bro,
You could check with the senior here, and if you are in J-Town, you could check with the mamasans.
A good source is bro Qibye, he could tell you if the cops are doing raids for the last two to weeks or so.
I was at Travel and the girls were a bit jump....y, was there with a friend, he say that the girls wanted to quickly clean up after finish, as they are afraid if there were to be a raid, they do not want to be in a room, they rather be at the sofa; made sense to me.
I personally was there when they raided Marliboro, so I can say from first hand that the cops are really doing hard core raids.
Please do be careful.

Hi bro,

Police trace syndicates supplying sex industry

The Jakarta Post , Jakarta | Sat, 09/01/2007 2:00 PM | Jakarta

The Jakarta Post, Jakarta

Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Adang Firman on Friday said police would crack down on the organized syndicates that are trafficking women from overseas to work in the sex industry here.

The two-star police general said intelligence officers had begun investigating reports of the trafficking of women from mainland China to Indonesia.

""I cannot say what we are doing precisely. But we're trying to analyze and understand this matter,"" Adang said.

Adang's statement came only a day after a pimp, Cheung Kin Chiu, alias Valen, reported to the city police that one of his ""girls"", a Chinese sex worker, had been ""kidnapped"".

Valen told police on Thursday that two Chinese nationals were holding the woman against her will in an apartment in Sunter, North Jakarta.

According to the report, the two men -- Wo Chun Hua, 35, and Wu Giung Ming, 34 -- booked the sex worker, Yen Wung Lan, 23, on Tuesday night. Yen was employed at a karaoke lounge in Penjaringan, North Jakarta.

From the lounge, the three went to the Sunter apartment.

Hua and Ming reportedly locked Yen in a room and on Wednesday one of the men phoned Valen, demanding Rp 10 million (US$1,063) ransom if he wanted to see her again unharmed.

After receiving Valen's report Thursday morning, police raided the apartment.

The two men attempted to flee.

Police shot Hua in the leg, while Ming suffered concussion after jumping from the fourth floor to the second.

Both suspects are being detained at city police headquarters for questioning.

Comr. Jarius Saragih of the city police's general crimes division said as of Friday detectives had been unable to question the suspects due to the language barrier.

""Neither of them can speak Indonesian,"" Jarius said.

""We're still waiting for a translator.""

Valen has yet to be questioned in connection with the women trafficking rings.

Kota in West Jakarta is known for its night spots characterized by female sex work. Most of the women offer services through their pimps for more than Rp 1.5 million.

Kompas daily said in its December edition that Jakarta had hundreds of sex workers who came from abroad.

Many of the women come from mainland China and East European or Central Asia countries, such as Russia and Uzbekistan, the daily reported.

In December, police arrested 44 female sex workers who came from mainland China and a number of male Indian and African sex workers.

Ambang Priyonggo
Sex Trade to Face Clampdown

The city administration on Tuesday threatened to revoke the business permits of hotels and entertainment centers involved in human trafficking and prostitution.

The move came after recent police raids in the capital rounded up dozens of young girls suspected of being sex workers.

Governor Fauzi Bowo said that his administration has never issued prostitution permits for nightclubs or other entertainment centers and that any establishments found to be functioning as safe havens for human trafficking and prostitution would be dealt with firmly by the authorities.

“The [city’s] tourism agency and Public Order Office have never issued permits [for prostitution],” he said. “Any such practices in hotels or nightspots are therefore illegal.”

Fauzi’s threat came after police raided several hotels, spas and nightclubs in the capital and apprehended 188 women, including 55 young foreign girls, suspected of working as prostitutes. The girls were taken in for questioning but were not detained.

Most of the foreign nationals were from China, Thailand, Tibet, Mongolia and Uzbekistan. They allegedly came to Indonesia using tourist visas but worked illegally as high class prostitutes. Ten Indonesians working for a number of employment agencies have also been declared suspects.

Among the hotels and spas police raided were Klasik Spa in Pasar Baru, My Place Spa and Cafe Grand Wijaya in South Jakarta, a spa in Hotel Nikko in Central Jakarta, Fashion Hotel in Gunung Sahari, Malioboro Hotel and Spa, and Alexis Hotel in Ancol.

- interesting article from the Jakarta Globe.

my view is that with such raids intensifying, places like X2,CJ, BATS,Tiga Puluh will see a higher number of females now looking for "work"

Nurfika Osman
Police Raid 2 More Spas, Arrest 2 Men, 50 Women

Overnight raids on spa facilities in Central and West Jakarta have resulted in the detention of 50 women suspected to be sex workers, an official said on Wednesday.

Police also detained two men suspected of being involved in the sex trade industry: Endang Saefullah from the Emporium spa in Pecenongan, Central Jakarta, and Asep Riyadi of the Golden Crown spa in Glodok, West Jakarta. Police detained 26 women at the Emporium and 24 women at the Golden Crown.

Police later released all of the women, saying that they were victims of human trafficking and the sex trade.

“We are concentrating more on efforts to break the chain of prostitution and human trafficking,” said Muhammad Iriawan, head of the general crimes unit at the Jakarta Police.

“So, our target is to bring to trial the management and agents of women who are put to work as lady companions or prostitutes. We think of the women as victims, so we let them go with a warning.

“They are all very young, with their average age about 20.”

Iriawan said the suspected agents could be charged with human trafficking, which carries a sentence of up to six years in jail.

Harry, manager of the Golden Crown spa facilities, declined to comment.

City police have launched a campaign to crack down on prostitution in the capital, raiding entertainment centers and rounding up suspected sex workers.

According to the city administration, police raids on several hotels, spas and nightclubs in the capital have netted 238 women, including 55 young foreign women, suspected of working as prostitutes.

However, the women were only taken in for questioning.

Most of the foreign nationals were from China, Thailand, Tibet, Vietnam, Mongolia and Uzbekistan. Twelve Indonesians working for a number of employment agencies have also been declared suspects.

This is bad news... I think they have not "tipped" the Police enough this time during the "Fitri"...

Hope Bro Guan is alright...

Cheers!

what i heard is that election is coming in april and that the govt need to raid to appease the extremist muslim.

in addition, they are also trying to put a stop to the customs allowing in alcohol whose duty is not paid. the customs are also eating "coffee $"
perhaps times are bad and the govt need more revenue to carry out some form of fiscal policies .

the raid could be a signal to those spa owners to pay their dues to the relevant govt agencies.

i understand from reports that in the next 2 weeks, should have more raids happening. but around xmas period should more or less close shop.

No all are rich. There are many poor ones as well. Especially those in Java. Their thinking is more like the malays. Wont hestitate to sell their bodies for money. I come across some as young as 14 years of age.

I totally agree with Bro NY. This group is trapped in between, can't mix with the rich Chinese and has to blend in with the Locals...

I used to have a regular who worked in Rajamas. Will not ask for $$$ after bonking, but will gladly accept "taxi money". Too bad, I lost her number when I lost my mobile after a heavy drinking night... :(

The poor local chinese acts like the malays, just that their color is yellow only. Most of them can be found in Disco, or KTVs. Higher end ones. Correct me if I am wrong, but that is what I notice. :)

Not really Malays, but Local Indonesians... You are quite right about the points, though - Behaviour, speech and action.

Basically, Indons are very particular about social class and social status. That's why when you go to the Mall (mid to lower end), you will see lots of fake LVs and Gucci on sale... :D

Spot on... Higher end ones may hang out at Clubs like X2. This is the easiest way to get to know potential richer targets...

Yes, I ever had a FL bonking me, and ask for more $$$ than pre neogiated, reason? Want to buy a new Hp. Of cos, never pay her more than what I offered initially.

The malays thinking is very materialistic. Can spend all they want, when no $$$, then work again. And spend their money on big ticket items.

Hahaha, that is where the fun lies, in the VVIP rooms. Been to one of the parties.

Short FR, dont ask me names, since I didnt book the gals.

3 gals. All about 20 yrs. Guys about 6 of us.
Drinks are tainted with pills, of cos, I have my own drinks. Gals strip and dance. The Karaoke system is on full blast. Soon the gals are in turn bonked by each guy.

All of us watch, one fucker took his HP to record the events. One guy was pinned down by a gal on his dick and the other gal CB was at his mouth. Later, 2 guys had a bonking contest, see who CUM first. The loser had to down a glass of whisky( with pills dissolved).

I got a BJ that time, and watch the whole process.

Mind you, these friends of mine are no ordinary people, but bosses of big factories and owners of companies. Imagine such people having such fantasies. hahaha.

It is definately an unforegetable event, to see so many high status people doing all these. Thought I see it in novels or moives only! :D:D

Wah Lau!! You should start a new thread with this story leh... :D

Some of these girls are OL and attending these parties get them to party as well as additional income. Most of them already have the expectation of getting laid, however, with the element of pills, I can imagine the scene...

Cheers!

Hi bro,
In many ways, Chinatown is much more fun and safer than any part J-town for the single reason.
If you are connected you are almost untouchable. [Unless you kill someone.]
