Hi bros, i am trying to plan a trip to either HKT or BKK for this coming 27th with my buddies.. as it is very near the upcoming thai election i heard from my friends it is usually not recommended to travel there during this period due to bombings and protests..

is it really that bad? appreciate if any bros can enlighten us.

If you walk around you should find something, likely a few bars will be serving alcohol discretely in cups (and some not so discretely..), many beer bars still open but maybe fewer girls or no music playing. At least that's what I saw during one of the religious holidays. If you're travelling with friends maybe stock up on alcohol in your room (stores will not sell alcohol on the day), and collect some girls numbers in the days leading up..

By the way, just to answer ilovef's post above. The election won't affect anything in terms of beer and girl prices. Even when there was a military coup a few years back, it was as if nothing happened.

Here is a simple map. Should be good for first-timers. It shows some of the cheap girl-friendly hotels nearby Bangla.
My 2 cents worth for these hotels:

Usually around 600 to 800thb (SGD$25 to SGD$33) per night during low season
Do not charge you 1000thb for bringing back girl
Save you short-time hotel cost
Save you taxi cost
All have free Wifi. Most have computer terminals for use by guests.
Thai ladies usually prefer cheap hotels nearby Jungceylon and Banzaan market than posh hotels far far away.

Personally never spent overnight on Phi Phi before. Every time I'm there overnight I've been on a boat. Anyways, there are bars and a night life on Phi Phi but I think the choice of girls to choose from might be a bit thin. Especially now since it's the low season. Just walk around and I'm sure you'll be able to see all the action. It isn't all that big of an area. To avoid disappointment I think it's best if you bring your own girl with you from Phuket.

It's also the start of the monsoon season now so the weather is sometimes 50:50. Make sure you check the weather first.

end of my 7 days stress free stay in patong. stay at a hotel at the end of the patong beach which around 30mins walking to bangla street. but as i ride a bike it took less than 10mins drive to bangla street everynight. maybe due to low season not too many car and ppl.

had massage everyday at different palour. this time did not have much syt compare to my last few trip maybe expectation too high liao. Do beware that some of the massage lady are ladyboy so dun get shock. cos while i was enjoying my massage i overheard next door guy screaming and asking for a change when he reliase that it was a ladyboy who massage him cos he shouted... "Fuck you have a cock, get out". This made me and my gal laugh. due to her massage was good and very playful i ask her what time finish work i come pick her up we go clubbing. pick her up at 12am, we went to tiger disco with her friends to have some dance, than went back at 2am as i was tired. she was good on bed had 2 rounds and follow by morning sexercise. gave her 2k she show black face i ask her why too little. she say no. she is not bar gal. i was like wtf???

This is my 1st night only i dun want to be stay with only 1 gal. i say to her i am sorry i am here to have fun it tip for her no money for sex. After dinner have a nap, woke up at 11pm and went to Bangla Street find that not alot of ppl but lots of indian, korean, japanese, arab. Went to Suzy Wong for a drink. dancer all dancing naked on stage and with their usual smacking stick smacking ppl seating at the stage area. Dun get shock it not painful at all. Due to did not find any syt on stage after 1 drink i went over to Devil Playground same owner as Suzy Wong.. Same concept. Dancing all naked and with smacking stick. Did not order any drinks and went over to tiger disco to go hunting.

After searching for 2 hours between tiger and hollywood, i call it a night and have a good rest alone.

Which Le Meridian are you staying at? Either way I think it's easiest if you just head to Patong or Phuket Town and find yourself a girl to bring back. Phuket doesn't really have an escort service. Since you're in Le Meridian, I'm sure they will charge you a joiner fee though.

If you head to Patong basically anywhere you turn your head you will be able to find a girl to bring back. If you want to venture into Phuket town, just let me know and I can suggest a few places.

If you're going diving then I guess it's going to be hard to get a girl. Think your choice is to go PP and try your luck. Not sure how strict the hotels are in PP about joiner fee but they may be a bit more relaxed and not charge you. Sorry can't be more help.

Technically, Thailand is like Singapore now. No smoking in all indoor areas. Except this is Thailand so things are sometimes enforced and other times not. Sabai sabai!!

Owner didn't have the time to personally take care of it anymore so the quality started to slip towards the end therefore loosing their customers. With that, the happening Coyote club now is DUZz which is close to the Merlin Hotel 4 way intersection. It's busy most nights and they have a lot of Coyotes and Models mostly quite pretty as well. For those of you not sure what a Model is, they are suppose to be prettier, dressed only in Lingerie, more daring, and their drinks cost more. I'm impressed with what DUZz is doing so I hope they keep it up.

There are also two new Coyote clubs that have opened up in the Phun Phon area but I have not been to them yet. One is Barzaah and the other is Jeed. Barzaah has gone through about 4 transformations over the last two years so I hope by turning it into a Coyote club it works out for them this time. I heard from a friend they just brought in 40 FHM models for a party last weekend. Too bad I only knew about it after it happened.

As for Jeed it is the second time they've opened as they shut down only after a few months the first time. I heard a new owner has come in to open it again this time. Other than that I haven't heard anything much about this place.

I have been to around 7 diff massage parlors(MP) there, 5 misses and 2 hits when it comes to specials. If you want a crappy piano massage with HJ, turn right from club med, walk along the road and go to the 1st road on the left, think its called ket kwan road. There you will see lots of MPs, if you want special, ignore all of them, go straight down the road until the end of the road. There are 2 joints that I tried there that offers... 1 is called Smiley massage. The other one starts with D... darlene or something... sorry been over a week so cant remember every little detail hehe... If you want more than HJ, think the gal at smiley offers but you will need to bring your own CD(gal was willing to go as far as capped bj but after a while she really got high and wanted to go full, but no CD and I had to remind her of the fact, she ask me go 7eleven but I rejected lah, go out with hard dick, and come back? nah..). So I got only HJ.

Gals there honestly in the looks dept ranges from 2 to 6.5. Most of them are tan and nips are dark. So if you want fair pink nips type, not the right part of the world hahah...

A bit of update in terms of what's happening in the Phun Phon area of Phuket town.

I managed to make a quick trip down to Phun Phon on Friday to go check out Jeed and Barzaah.

As for now I am going to write off Jeed as a joke because as I walked up to the front door I noticed two of their waiters sitting outside. Just so happens I knew both of them from my previous drinking hole Bossy. I thought the place was already open for a few weeks but they told me today was the opening day but they haven't even opened the door for the employees to go in and start work! That was around 10:30pm. They even had a sign hanging outside saying it was their opening day. I thought that was pretty funny but not a good sign for the future and management of the place. I will make it a point to go back and check it out again but I'll give them some time first.

So I headed to Barzaah instead. As some of you may know, Barzaah has been around for quite some time and over the last two years or so they have closed and opened up with a new theme about 4 times. It used to be just live band but this time they have renovated and turned it into a Coyote club with VIP Karaoke rooms upstairs. I walked in and I have to say I'm impressed as the place is nicely decorated with a large bar in the middle, bar tables and chairs in front of the band and around the walls are sofa seating areas with opening and closing curtains. I'll leave it up to your imagination as to what can happen when the curtains are closed! I was there early so only about two or three other tables. Good thing was I could see most of the Coyotes and Models sitting around doing nothing. There is a very large number of girls and I have to say most of them are on the pretty side. The band was on a break as I got there so the girls were dancing on stage and also on top of the bar which I liked as I could get a pretty good view of whomever that is gyrating above and around me. The band played a mix of English and Thai songs and was pretty good. Drinks are on the very expensive side as it's B300 per drink for the Coyotes and B400 each for the models.

I went upstairs for a quick look and the VIP Karaoke rooms are nicely decorated in white with a modern design and LCD screens. Waiter told me one room is having an exceptional time as the girls inside are stripping!!

So overall, Barzaah is definitely worth a try. Hopefully they keep the quality at this level all the time and not just only when they are newly opened. I shall return for a more in depth look as I only stayed a short while on Friday.

For you guys wanting to try out Phuket town, it's definitely worth a look. Let me know if you want more info or just a local guy to show you around. Cheers.

But the massage at my hotel last year was good. 200BHT for 1hr. I ended up going for 90min at 300BHT. I heard that in Thailand masseur need to be tip on top of the price paid. Izzit true? Can any senior bro comment? :)

As bro hosayboh said, tipping is recommended but not necessary. But I think it is a nice gesture to tip them as the price from the hotel all goes to the hotel and the masseuse doesn't get any cut from that price. They are paid a salary but as you may know the salary is quite low so they need the tips to earn a better living. Obviously it's all up to you and if the massage and service is crap then of course I wouldn't tip either.

I can't help you with hotels in Patong as I'm local so not really sure which hotels have what. I'm sure plenty of other members here can help you out on that.

You don't need a tour guide to bring you around as it's quite manageable by yourself. Tourism has been developing in Phuket for the last 30 or so years so things are pretty well set up for tourists.

But you can let me know if you want some local recommendations in regards to where to go and what to eat etc. I can point you towards the less touristy places for both day time and night time activities.

There are lots of "nicely packed" maps around once you exit from the arrival gate. I took a handful of them but only use the one that is good. There is also "free SIM card" if you happen to see the sales staff distributing it. It's contain 100B of free credit that can use for internet/call. To be honest I'm not too sure about Patong now as I haven't really been lately. From what I can see, it's still the usual places that are popular at Patong. Hollywood, Tiger, Famous, Seduction for the big clubs. Then Suzy Wong's for the small go go bars and a few hundred other bars all over Patong which the best way to enjoy is to just walk around and try them out. I'm better with Phuket town as that's where I mostly go to now.

If you want just normal clubs in Phuket town then there is the usual Kor Tor Mor, Timber Hut, and Sofa Pub. These are local clubs with live band and mostly local Thais. Kor Tor Mor is usually packed so full of people on weekends you barely have space to stand. Sofa is also quite busy the last time I was there. Timber is an older crowd with a mix of locals and expat farangs. All these places if you can speak some Thai you have a possibility of hooking up with a local girl. Keep in mind these are local clubs so most of the girls are just normal girls out for the night and usually not P4P girls.

I'm more of a Coyote club kind of guy so for that there is Duzz and Barzaah. Ladies drinks at Duzz is B240 for Coyote and B300 for the models. Bottle of Black is around B1,500 and mixers are B70 each. Barzaah is more expensive where ladies drinks are B300 and B400. Pricing for their bottles is all out of whack and I don't know why they are priced like that. Red is B2,200 and Chivas is B1,700. (Crazy!!) After seeing the price of the Red I didn't bother asking how much a bottle of Black is and just went with the Chivas. Mixers are B60 each. Barzaah has private Karaoke rooms upstairs so you can bring the girls upstairs for some private fun. Don't get too excited, by this I don't mean sex.

Problem with Coyote clubs is girls usually don't go with customers but more the kind you need to bring out and get to know before anything more will happen. But some of them do sideline and go with customers so just ask and you may be lucky. Easiest is to ask the manager. The irony of places like this is you have all these very hot and sexy girls dressed almost in nothing, dancing, gyrating, and chatting with you and at the end of the night you can't bring them back. You'll still have a great night out but this is usually the case for short term visitors as you just don't have the time to bring them out and get to know them. But for long term visitors or those returning regularly then you have a chance. I have to say you see some very stunning girls here sometimes.

Then there are the massage parlors in the Phun Phon area where it will be pretty hard for you not to be able to "release." Prices are usually B500 for the massage and B2,000 to B3,000 for the full service.

Finally there is Fantasia which is a big club with a live band and a lot of girls you can bring out. The place is usually quiet as most people just go, choose a girl and leave. Place closes at 1am and usually the girls and or their customers will continue on to Barzaah which is owned by the same owner.

As for Kathrine, is the 2K including the girl? Usually the massage is just B500 and the girl is on top of that. If it's all inclusive then it's a good deal. Kathrine is in the Phun Phon are and in there there are many many massage places to choose from. Another nice one to try is Le Residence which is very close by.

Patong doesn't really have the big massage parlors with private rooms except for Christin and from what I hear the quality is not very good. Other than that it's all the little massage places where the rooms are divided only by a curtain while you get your rocks off. But I say still worth the try if you see a girl you like.

Dress code for Phuket town can still be casual but maybe not as casual as Patong. I'd recommend to wear jeans and definitely no sandals. Phuket town is for locals so people do tend to dress up to go party as you would back home as well. So if you show up looking like a tourist then your chances of picking up a hot local Thai girl becomes less. Not to mention some clubs like Kor Tor Mor do not allow sandals inside. Shorts OK but sandals no no!!

If your friends are trying to fish girls in Patong then I'd say it's almost impossible not to get one as most of the girls there are in the P4P game. Phuket town would be different as you have normal local girls and some party girls so you'd have to chat them up etc. Like you would any normal girl in any club anywhere. I personally do not know if the B2,000 is inclusive of the special but from the looks of it it seems to be inclusive. I would check with them just to make sure so you don't go and get disappointed if it's not.

Once you're in Phuket Town, just get a Tuk Tuk or motorcycle taxi and tell them to bring you to Phun Phon. Everyone knows where it is.

After stepping out of the airport terminal, turn right and at the end of the building you will see a stand for metered taxis. I'm not sure exactly how much it will be to the hotel but I think it will be cheaper than the B800 quoted by the hotel. Not a whole lot cheaper but probably B200 or 300 less. Taxis in Phuket is a joke and total rip off prices. Sadly not much we can do about that.

I don't think you need a tour guide to show you around. If you really want to explore Phuket I think it may be a good idea to rent a car or motorbike and drive around. Personally I think car will be safer as riding a bike in Phuket can be a bit dangerous. Just get a map and drive!! I'll also be glad to recommend places to visit, eat, drink, party, etc. Just let me know. Cheers.

Hi bro, when you going Phuket? There are 2 of us there next week.
Taxi outside airport only cost 550Bht. And you can also go to the counter in the airport that has minvan. 150Bht and they also stop at your hotel for you. In case the driver do not know the way, you can print the hotel map + address to show him.

Jeans and shirt in Duzz and Barzaah is fine. No need to be overly dressed up but just look respectable.

There are private Karaoke rooms on the upstairs of Barzaah but I don't know how much they charge as I haven't had the chance to use them yet.

If your friends cannot speak Thai then definitely harder to fish local girls. Maybe just easier to go to Duzz or Barzaah and have some fun there. Keep in mind the girls there don't go with customers but as I said before, your friends can try and ask. Never hurts to ask.

As for Fantasia, there are plenty of girls there to pick from that can go with customers but it's quite expensive. It will be around B3,000 to B4,000 to bring a girl overnight and there's the tips on top. But the last time I was there the girls were quite pretty though. One piece of advice though, don't take a taxi or tuk tuk directly to Fantasia because if they see you come on a taxi they will add surcharge as the taxi driver will ask for commission and your drinks and everything else will be much more expensive. Hi bro, I just back from phuket last Saturday. You can read the post above for the info needed. As for hotel, u can try book when u are in Phuket. The taxi or minivan will sure bring u to the agency before heading to patong.

I heard from the vendor it was quite good. There are offer of 5 star hotel at 3 star price. Alternative u can use online travel site like Agoda.com to book the hotel u liked. Cheers!

This trip was enjoyable as bro TCSS7 and I venture out of Patong on bike. Our 1st bike journey was to Phuket town to recce the Phun Phon area. We found it and decide to visit the next day. Then we went to Phuket Bay which is peaceful and quiet. There were food stall that sold vaious local food. The food there were at least 1/2 the price of what he bought in Patong and better taste too.

The next day we went to 3 viewpoints for the top view of Phuket and I must say it is really breathtaking. About 3+ pm we head back to Katherine Massage for the relaxation.:D

The other few days were in Patong rest and relax. Took a gal back from Bangla and was quite disappoint with her service provided. She will not done BBBJ and LT is only for a shot + sleep till 6am. Which I was not pleased. Decide to nego for another shot and let her go back at 4plus am. It cost 2K which quite reasonable but should have gotten better deal I guess.

Bro TCSS7 left a day earlier than me. I went to Phi Phi one day tour and was delight I really make it. It's really worthwhile trip as it only cost $800B to tour 2 of the island + lunch + transport to and fro hotel.

When I back from the tour, it's usual traditional massage at my favorite parlour just behind Patong Premier Hotel. In SG, my back was so aching that I make it a point that I MUST massage there everyday there in Phuket. :D I guess Bro TCSS7 must be wondering why I so crazy about going there to massage. Hahaha! The minivan that I booked missed the timing. On last day, the van came at 7am only to be told it was 5pm. And when I was waiting at lobby at 5pm they did not turn up! It's normally OK to bring your own bottles in Phuket but Barzaah is trying to promote their own alcohol sales so they may charge you corkage fee. But I personally don't think they will.

As for Patong or Kata beach, you have to decide what you are looking for. Patong is where all the nightlife is and is very busy and overbuilt. It is very convenient as the hotels, restaurants, shopping, beach, and bars are all in one place within walking distance.

Kata is a bit more quiet compared to Patong but you generally still have everything in Patong but in a much smaller scale. The beach at Kata is nicer than Patong though as it's not as busy and less polluted. Patong beach is nice but now just too busy and a bit polluted.

If you're just here to party then I say stay in Patong.
