Rise in number of Scams

my friend just kana 1 investment scam this week.

Story goes.....
he was browsing facebook and saw a post from a person...this guy mentioned the scammer's name in a group post saying that she helped him earned quite a bit of money thru crypto investment. my frd clicked on the scammer's profile and saw few other sugarcoated comments...these comments are not cluster together (if it is, then obvious is a scam). the comments about her being a good mentor and expert in earning good bucks are in random. so it doesn't look scammish.

so my frd added her as a frd. next day, the scammer accepted the request and started to chat with my frd via messenger. my frd ask what's her profession and how she can help him earn money. she replied that she's a pro trader... and able to help her 'clients' to earn money thru crypto investment.

so what happened was the chat continued to using whatsapp.... means my frd got the phone number. he continued texting her...asking her some questions... like how she can guide him, etc...

end up the scammer guides him how to open an account in a crypto app..$$$$$ up the bitcoin with 2k GBP (which is about $3.6k SGD) with credit card.... then share a 'trading platform' website to him. she continue to guide him to setup an account at the trading platform and transfer the bitcoin money from the crypto app to his trading account.

during this process...my frd knows it's a scam.. he actually hesitated when making the transfers. but it seems like he is 'listening' to the scammer's instruction. following every step to completion.
not sure you all believe in bomoh or spells... seems like it to me.

so when the money went over, the scammer then says she will trade on behalf of my frd.. and there's no way to withdraw the money.

then my frd went to do further 'research' and confirmed he's being scammed.... got a shocked..!!! which he says he can feel the gush in his head. not sure if this is the end of the spell thingy or spirit leaving his body feel...he totally cannot control whats he was doing...every step told...he performs.

so he went online to report police case. but police says money transferred via crypto no way to get back.

sad sia... few k gone like this.

Most likely he got hypnotized
