Many main factors contributing to rejection of PR.. The main factor for your case is the duration of your marriage is only 3 months. You should try your application maybe after at least 6-12 months of your marriage. Also, ICA will look into the income of the husband to ensure he is able to support his wife thru'. |

Re: PR Application Rejected
In 1993, I applied PR for my wife on the same day after my ROM. We got it in 2 month's time. (My wife is from LOS)

Re: PR Application Rejected
Forget about asking for help here. If the immigration officer you met was any helpful, he/she would have advised your to appeal thru your MP and get yourself indebted to our dear PAP. I believe it is one of the tactics they used to garner votes. I faced the same issue some 13 years ago and managed to succeed eventually, thanks to a nice officer who taught me what to do. If PR application still fails, at least your MP should be able to get your wife a long term visa.
Good luck.

Re: PR Application Rejected
Yes, success depends alot on the educational and work of both husband and the gal. And for husband the earning power. If you earn alot, should be quite fast, else you have no choice but wait .... this is also a prevention for fake marriages just to get PR status for PRCs.

Re: PR Application Rejected
If you the husband make good income & your foreign wife is highly educated then Singapore govt will even invite you apply PR. The higher the income & the education the higher the chances.

Re: PR Application Rejected
As some bro mention it, many factors affecting it. Do check with the officer what went wrong. Discuss it here is quite pointless as in my friend case, his application is being reject 3 times. Finally, he went to seek the officer in charge what actually went wrong. Result, the ROM cert have a spelling mistake in his wife name. The cert have print a 'e' instead of 'a'.
So many factors affect the result. So do have a nice talk with the officer what went wrong, & please do remember not to flare up & do not show temper when some time the officer is in a rush & show those bo chap face. Must be cool when dealing with them or else you may find your application face further delay. Hope these advise do help. |

Re: PR Application Rejected
Yupz, go find out what's wrong. A lot of factors one.
For my wife, I applied her PR and got it within months. Reason is. My income can support her. Her income can support her. She is working as a professional trade. Cheers

Re: PR Application Rejected
Did you seek approval from MOM before you 2 got married? Did she and/or you committed any offences in or outside the countries? and did you earn at least 30k/yr for last 2 yrs?
If not her application will forever not approved, unless ICA change its rules.

Re: PR Application Rejected
Usually with work permit, more difficult to get the PR status. But you will ultimately get it as long as no crime and you continuously work and contribute to CPF.

Re: PR Application Rejected
As many brothers here have already mentioned.
For Work Permit Holders, they are allowed to marry locals but subject to the approval from MOM as ICA would take this into account during the application. You would need to seek their permission prior to getting married. As for getting PR in Singapore. Generally, it depends on a few things to "up" your chances. 1. Wife's Education 2. Your annual Earnings 3. Your Education Level 4. Your Employment 5. Whether you have any dependents 6. etc.......... So, if you are serious in getting a PR for your wife. Take a hint and try to maybe improve your situation. Not sure, where your level is now as you have provided no details. I think there are several forms of PR - Landed PR etc..... Perhaps, you can do some research on them and see whether they fit. Worse case scenario perhaps you can apply for a long-term social visit pass for her and play the "Waiting" Game.
