SINGAPORE — A 39-year-old man was charged on Saturday (April 18) with using criminal force on a safe distancing ambassador (SDA) with the intention to deter her from carrying out her duty.

Jayseelan Ramachandran allegedly slapped the back of Ms Lee Jia Jia, a public servant, at about 1.30 pm on Sunday (April 12) at Block 684 Hougang Avenue 8.

“Preliminary investigations revealed the man had hit the SDA’s hand, causing her phone to drop, when he was advised not to loiter along Hougang...
