Question STD Check Up

As a precaution, how often do you (Cheongsters) go for STD Check Up?

Which are the recommended clinics for STD Check Up?

When you pee and fire shoots out of your dick, that's when you need to see a doctor!

Re: STD Check Up

The decision to get tested for STIs is your choice. A guide is to get tested at least 6 months after the last unsafe episode.

Re: STD Check Up

First, read up on STDs, and note symptoms. When such symptoms appear, then go for check up. (This applies to gonorrhea and NGU especially, because they come with symptoms. Herpes too, especially if they recur--which requires a culture test when there's an outbreak.)

In case of STDs that are notoriously asymptomatic: for syphilis (after 2 months from last sexual encounter) go for blood test; for HIV (after 6 months from last sexual encounter). I know there are sometimes symptoms appearing for these two--but not all the time. So if the symptoms match, go for the blood tests, first when those symptoms have appeared and then after six months (whichever comes first).

For all tests, go to DSC, which offers subsidised rates. But for HIV test, to be KS, go for AfA Anonymous Testing (on the same premises of the DSC but after office hours on Wednesday evening and Saturday afternoon). If you're really really really KS, go to Malaysia for testing. I think it's cheaper too.

Re: STD Check Up

No, bro. Sorry. Not in this country and I don't think so in neighbouring countries, will you be able to get these test kits off the shelves of pharmacies, medical halls etc.

Re: STD Check Up

hi:

I've read somewhere that home test kits for HIV have been available in the US in stores and on the internet since 1996.

As for accuracy, it would depend on whether the test is an ELISA Gen3 one, which tests off a drop of blood. I don't know about those that test from saliva scraped from the mouth, and how accurate those are. But generally, the blood test is the standard.

I've also read that there are such test kits for other diseases too.

Do a google search of the Internet and see what you get?

Also, there was one brother on this forum, with a thread, saying he was helping someone distribute the rapid HIV test kits. Maybe you can do a search for that thread and PM that brother, and he'll try and get you a good deal?

Anyway, my personal opinion is you should go see a doctor to help you with the tests anyway. But that's just me. Of course, I understand the embarrassment and privacy factor can outweigh the need for doctor opinion for some brothers.

Re: STD Check Up

Like every other doctors would suggest, go for regular annual body check-ups. Body check-ups shld include urine test and blood test. those cheap blood and urine test is enuff to alert you of any irregularities.

In the presences of such irregularities, go see the respective specialist. If need be, then go DSC.

But then, if obvious signs of STD is seen then go ASAP. or you did something really dangerous with a gal, then go 3 to 6 months after the episode lo.

Re: STD Check Up

well, it is true that NGU can recur, meaning it's not fully cured. that's why if anybody kena NGU must be very religious about taking his antibiotics on schedule and complete the course to maximise the chances of clearing the bacteria from their system.

Red face Re: STD Check Up

Don't know about you fellas but I hate going to DSC. Went there once a few years ago and fucking scared I would meet people I know......Also, attitude of staff not good. Keep probing with personal questions etc. etc.

What I want to know is whether there is any clinic OTHER than DSC that can do the whole list of checks. I don't mean HIV / Syphillis because these test, any clinic can do with normal blood test for HIV / VDRL. I want to be tested for the other stuff like Gonohrrea, HSV, HPV, etc. etc.

Incidentally, Hep A & B can be sexually transmitted (hep A through AR and hep b thru normal farking) n all bros should take the easy step of getting vaccinated. No need to tell OC anything other than you like to eat "See Hum" kekeke.

So brothers, any clinic other than DSC can do tests? Don't mind paying and if you test in JB, also can. Let me know.
