Thumbs up CB Kia PAP state MSM question CSJ one day before cooling off period?

An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:

And he bloody hell cannot answer on cooling off day!!

SCUMBAGS bunch of losers! only one miserable seat also scared of losing!!

SINGAPORE: The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) on Thursday (May 5) expressed disappointment that the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) chief "continues to deliberately misrepresent" its employment data.

It released the following statement after the final by-election rally for the SDP:

"MOM notes that Dr Chee Soon Juan had said at his rally on May 5, the following: 'MOM took issue with me, saying that the number of jobs created for locals was not 100 as I pointed out. Instead it is 700.'

We would like to make it clear that the issue was never about the local employment growth of 100 (which is the advance estimate) versus 700 (which is the final number). It is about Dr Chee’s misunderstanding of what that number represents, which is the “net” number of new jobs taken by locals and not the total number of new jobs for locals. There is a significant difference between the two due to the number of locals exiting jobs annually for reasons such as retirement.

We are disappointed that having earlier misunderstood and subsequently read our clarification, Dr Chee continues to deliberately misrepresent our employment data."

On Wednesday, MOM had said Dr Chee painted an "alarmist picture of the jobs market" and clarified that the ‘net’ number of new jobs taken by locals shrunk because of smaller cohorts of younger workers entering the workforce; larger baby boomer cohorts exiting it and Singapore's high employment rate for residents aged 25 to 64.
