Her heart, liver and kidneys had been transplanted in the four patients, the City Express newspaper reports. Cultural attitudes impede organ donations in China Due to a shortage of organs, surgeons over the past two decades have found ways to use “sub-optimal” or diseased livers for transplants. She suffered acute fatty liver of pregnancy, which was a rare, life-threatening complication, according to her hospital in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province. Keeping the remains as complete as possible was regarded being respectful to the deceased. The woman’s family said they did not hesitate to donate her organs.
