SINGAPORE: Police have arrested 11 people for theft at the Giant supermarket along Tampines North Drive 2 in the first week of December this year.*

In a news release, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said the cases took place at the self check-out counters, where the suspects are believed to have placed scanned items with those that were not scanned. They paid for the scanned items, but left with everything, including items not scanned and not paid for.*

Shop theft is punishable by jail of up to seven years, as well as a fine.
