What’s the past performance of our paper generals?
An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
When you keep doing the same things, you get the same results. So what were the past performance of our many paper generals in well-protected politics, very well paid GLCs and competitive private sector? So far among all these pampered highly qualified, very smooth career paper generals since their “scholarship” days, not even ONE is outstanding in their post army career. Not even one left for the truly competitive private sector, and prosper on his own. Not even one! Among the many that were parachuted in government GLCs as CEOs or SVP, none was outstanding. Not one. Most are mediocre despite all the resources, opportunities and oligopolistic powers and advantages provided. Not even one outstanding. What a tragic! Among the many who were parachuted into political office. All are Yes-men, and not even one spoke out against the White Population Paper against Singaporeans’ interests. All put Party above people. What a tragic! Generals are supposed to have guts. Not even one has the guts to speak out or vote on their conscience all these years. At least Inderjit Singh, the businessmen MP is more righteous. He did not vote for it but absence himself. Singapore will be more and more doom with more and more of our paper generals becoming political leaders or business leaders. The late Mr. Goh Keng Swee and late President Ong Teng Cheong, etc are people with convictions and integrity. They spoke against the late Mr. Lee when they disagreed with the policy. Singapore does not need more paper strawberry generals in business or politics. Paper generals should remain in the army and be trained to have guts and be prepared for military conflicts in case that happened. They should be trained to fight wars. Not having second or third careers. This is proper Defence principle for Singapore.
