A woman shared what life for an 87-year-old cardboard collector in Singapore is like, along with heartbreaking photos.
Belacan Cili Padi wrote about some of the hardships faced by the cardboard collector, whom she appears to know personally.
These include eating leftover food, suffering from joint limbs, digging through filth, being seen as a nuisance and more -- just to earn less than $10 a day.

· 12 July at 05:53 · have you spend a whole day with an 87 year old elderly cardboard collector as she goes on her rounds? would you eat 2 days leftover food with her? do you know how leftover fish n eggs from yesterday tastes like? have you gone to her flat to eat what she is eating? have you seen how she lives in a 1 room flat? do you know her pains and aches of having to push the heavy trolley for hours just to earn less than $10 per day? have you seen her gnarled joints and swollen legs and a...ching stooped back trying to cope with digging for dirty cans in the dustbins? have you tried to spend hours digging into the wet dirty dustbins with her looking for that odd coke cans to sell for every 70 cans she can earn $1? have you gone door to door with her to collect discarded cardboard sometimes facing rejections and being looked down as a nuisance? have you gone down longkangs to help her collect discarded newspapers? if you have not done any of that what makes you an expert to give your useless opinion on the lives of elderly cardboard collectors who are struggling to make a living of less than $10 per day?
