MALAYSIA Petaling Street ‘stripper’ charged with indecency

.KUALA LUMPUR, April 28 — The woman who went topless to avoid paying for her food at a stall in Petaling Street has claimed trial to a charge of behaving indecently in public at a magistrate’s court here today.

According to The Star Online, part time model and spa worker Persana Avril Sollunda, 32, pleaded not guilty to the charge under Section 294 of the Penal Code of committing an obscene act in public.

Magistrate Zura Syazween Hamizan was quoted by the report as having set May 29 for next mention. If found guilty, Persana may face up to three months in jail or a fine or both.

The woman was arrested at a hotel on Saturday and police confirmed that she had tested positive for methamphetamine.

In a video that surfaced on YouTube several hours after the bizarre incident last week, the woman was seen arguing with an individual believed to be the restaurant operator.


The woman was heard telling the latter not to touch her, also insisting that she had paid. She then started stripping off and went completely topless as she taunted the latter, crying out “Shame on you”.
