Depression is a serious illness characterized by many different traits. These can include prolonged sadness, fatigue, hopelessness, feelings of worthlessness, guilt, and shame, mood aversion to activity, self injury, suicidal thoughts or actions, and more. sense of well-being.[1][2] Depression is not a mood or state of mind. One can "feel depressed" without actually experiencing depression. People with depression often also experience anxiety disorders. They may lose interest in activities that were once pleasurable, experience loss of appetite or overeating, have problems concentrating, remembering details or making decisions, and may contemplate, attempt or commit suicide. Insomnia, excessive sleeping, fatigue, aches, pains, digestive problems or reduced energy may also be present.[3]

Depression is a feature of some psychiatric syndromes such as major depressive disorder,[2] but it may also be a normal reaction to life events such as bereavement, a symptom of some bodily ailments or a side effect of some drugs and medical treatments. Contrary to popular belief, depression does not only exist in the aftermath of a traumatic event. As it is an illness like any physical disorder, depression can affect anyone, at any time. It is important to seek treatment for depression from a medical professional.

SEEK JESUS! He gives you break from depression!
