Thumbs up Liberal immigration policies drive unemployed Singaporean to suicide

An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:

2014 - 1:06pm
Someone just shared with me how his best friend committed suicide by taking an overdose of tranquilizers last November when he could not handle the emotional trauma of prolonged unemployment.

The news broke my heart as we have lost a true-blue Singaporean who could contribute to the country in many ways.

He is only 40 years old and had a overseas degree. He was a sales engineer before but we are unsure if he had been laid off or quit due to personal reasons. He is single and stays with the parents.

I am sure there are others whom we don't know who took their own lives due to prolonged unemployment as it attacks the mind and emotions alot. There is also no deadline to unemployment and hope fitters away when weeks turn to months and to years.

Managing unemployment all on your own is also unwise and do seek out support from various channels available here. There is a limit to how much we can manage on our own.

We want to assure all Singaporeans in transition that we will try our level best to take care of your needs if you stay in touch with us. We will not leave anyone behind.

Your reward for serving NS is suicide. Thank you very much for your service.
