Make taxi, not taxi driver, work harder. Agree?
An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
Solution to make taxi work harder is to make cabbies share cab. According to Ang Hin Kee, taxi driver now drives up to 12 hours a day over 6-7 days a week. If there is a share-a-taxi system, there will be more relief drivers. I have personally met a cabbie who drove 24 hours and i thought that was absolutely crazy!! Yes work hard to support family but what if the health system breaks down? It is too dangerous. I have a few questions running through my head... 1. What is the current practice for hiring relief drivers? 2. Shouldn't relief drivers be owned by NTA so NTA can distribute these relief drivers to cab operators as and when any of them need it? 3. Why are we lacking relief drivers? What is the disadvantage of being a relief driver? http://www.todayonline.com/singapore...cle-co-sharing Click here to view the whole thread at www.sammyboy.com. |
