Battery Woes for Samsung Galaxy S III and Note II Users After Android 4.3 Update

20 Jan 2014 / 7 hours 28 min ago / By Sidney Wong

If you are using a Samsung Galaxy S III or Note II, it is recommended that you do not update your device to Android 4.3 following reports of major problems in the U.S, the U.K and Singapore.

We scrolled through Samsung Mobile Singapore's Facebook Page and found numerous feedback from users of these two Samsung models on battery drain issues. There were also a few reported cases of sluggish performance, poor memory management and other app problems.

Samsung Mobile U.K temporarily suspended the over-the-air (OTA) update for users after investigating the reported issues by Galaxy S III users. Samsung apparently worked on a newer firmware version and issued to the major telcos in the U.S. However, the new firmware brought more problems.

The International Business Times reported last Friday that AT&T users are complaining about problems installing the OTA update while Verizon users faced Wi-Fi connection and charging issues.

If you have updated your Galaxy S III or Note II to Android 4.3 and encountered these issues, you can try backing up your data first before doing a factory reset. This method worked for a few users. We've reached out to Samsung Mobile Singapore for their comment on this matter. We will update this section when we have information.
