TOC apologise to Wanbao
An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
theonlinecitizen CORRECTION AND APOLOGY: On 24 November, we published a translated article from Lianhe Wanbao about the 95-year samsui woman who had committed suicide. Our translated article was headlined: "Unwilling to burden family with medical bills, 95 year old samsui woman commits suicide". And in the article itself, we had this translated sentence: "Admitted into hospital after a fall, unwilling to burden family with hospital bills, 95 year old Samsui Woman falls to her death." The headline and the sentence are inaccurate. The Wanbao report did not say that the woman took her own life because she didn't want to burden the family with her medical bills. The Wanbao report said only that she did not want to burden her family. We apologise for the error and will make changes to our translated article accordingly.
