S$100,000 worth of illegal sex drugs seized in raid at Geylang POSTED: 06 Jun 2013 8:02 PM  SINGAPORE: Singapore’s authorities have raided two apartments at Geylang Lorong 22, seizing illegal sex drugs with an estimated street value of S$100,000. Five men and four women were arrested. The crackdown was led by the Health Sciences Authority (HSA). The Singapore Police Force (SPF) and the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) also took part in the raid in the early hours of Thursday. They seized some 40,000 units of products such as counterfeit Viagra and Cialis. The authorities said rooms in the two apartments they raided were used as storage spaces for the illegal sex drugs. Thursday's crackdown is part of the authorities' ongoing efforts to stamp out the peddling of illegal sex drugs in Geylang. The authorities said they conducted 22 operations over the past four months, hauling in over 100,000 units of illegal products with an estimated street value of S$250,000. In total, 31 people -- comprising 24 men and 7 women -- were caught. HSA said the illegal sex products often contain substances controlled under the Poisons Act. It said it is an offence for an unlicensed person to import, sell or possess for sale any product containing these substances.
