I was there for a year and i do recommend Boardroom in 53 Market Street, South Melbourne. They have a no stress environment which you can sit & talk to any available WL before deciding who to bonk. They have fantastic room facilities and spa as well. I would suggest that you go there at a later hour as they operate up to 4am. Check out the following website for more details:

If you're willing to put in a little bit of work, I've been relatively successful in picking up ONS at the Kitten Club & this place called F4 (nothing to do with the boy band). If nothing else, the band at the Kitten Club is usual quite good.

Been there last year in May 2004. Went to 466 City Rd. Look up at those hotel lobby Melbourne brochures. Not too bad, but note that they are also not cheap. Paid about AUD$200+ for about 45-60 minutes session.

It's on Little Collin's Street (it's on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the building if i remember correctly). That's right smack in the middle of the CBD.

I sent an email to a friend who lives in melbourne, and it turns out that the place has a website! www.kittenclub.com.au

PS. despite it's name, the kitten club is NOT a strip club. It's more of a jazz/soul lounge/bar

Also, the other place I mentioned, F4, is also on the same street (less than 10 mins apart on foot, longer if you're tipsy

). That's more clubby, with house music and the like. One thing about clubbing in Melbourne, cocktails (ie. martinis) are expensive at A$12-15, whilst shots (ie. B52) are dirt cheap at A$5-6!!
