Swan Hotel is located at the Bai Lu Zhou where there are 2 Su You seafood restaurant. It is relatively a new hotel which rated 4 stars. I think the rate for foreigner is about S$180 per night. I used to get my local friend to book and it cost only about S$90 per night.

Yi Dai Jia Ren has just been renovated. Their newly renovated rooms are quite good and spacious. They also have plasma tv too. For me, XO2 still the top choice and it is located very near to Swan Hotel (15 minutes walk) within Bai Lu Zhou. If you are there the next time, try ask for the mummy name Ma Li and you won't be disappointed.

Personally, I like Xiamen a lot. The weather, food, cleanliness and the friendly people make it an interesting place to visit.

Not trying to 'fight' with u. Just exchange pointers cos I'm also a regular in Xiamen. With your S$90 or with S$180 n left some spare cash, u can stay in Crowne Plaza hotel which cost abt $100. I personally stay in Crowne Hotel b4. It costed me less than S$100.

Xiamen is small city, smaller than S'pore, so it's easier to manage. The weather will not be that cold during winter... but nothing much interesting to visit except the Gulangyu, Huangdaolu n I forget the name of the famous temple. Try to go Fuzhou instead... try Wuyi shan, beautiful place.

You were talking about the Nan Pu Tuo temple. Yeah, I been to Fuzhou too. Tried the original Buddha Jump Over The Wall there. Really nice! Cheap some more at only S$40 per person. Been to Gu Shan but nothing to shout about. I heard about WuJi Shan and this shall be my next target.....probably after my Shanghai and Hangzhou trip.
