Expensive STI/STD test

hi Bros...

Just doing quick sharing on a very costly experience.

2 weeks ago i experienced a fairly warm sensation while peeing... NOT BURNING... there were no other external signs of infection ie.. no discharge, blisters or rashes.

Went to SHIM Clinic at Bedok...
- Doc performed external examination.
- Took 1 blood sample - test tube. (this needs to be sent to a lab for testing)
- Gave urine sample.

It took about 15-20mins.

Bill:
Screening test (blood & urine): $400
Consultation: $90
Total $490!!!!

Anyone knows where else to do the above that doesn't cost so much? Besides DSC which is very public.

yes, Shim Clinic is every expensive.

However, the man doctor seem very experience in such sickness. he can examin you and give quite an extensive report.

Indeed very ex....I also heard at JB there is many clinic doing such test too. they are fairly cheap as compare to shim.

may be you should try there if you need again.

@Sed69: I don't think i will ever go across the border... too troublesome. There are definitely other clinics ... worse case DSC.

I agree he is very thorough... don't mind the $90 consultation... but outside his clinic, there are prices there that stated: STD Screening and treatment comes to $150. Maybe that's the next bill one has to pay if they catch something and will require treatment.

think in SG everything is one cent of money for one cent of goods
i wouldn't trust the $150 for full STD screen
i mean if they check for 10 different STD then each test only $15 meh?

i went to another clinic. not SHIM. full test only slightly cheaper.
but consult only $35
but the doc got discuss with me individual test to see which one i really need first.

bro. SG got strict rules about who can have abortion here.
think our gahment dun want SG to become regional abortion hub.
even private clinis won't be able to do it for u.
if i am not wrong work permit holders can only do abortion in SG if stay here > 4 months.
u can try m'sia or thailand.

Should call a few to compare cost first.

The best place and cheapest is to go to DSC Clinic..for cost effective check & treatment. But the negative point is that you are sexposed and the gahmen knows You from Day 1..... your home address, contacts and even wife will know as a result of your visit (if the finding is NG). Rgds
