Budget Hotels 2 IC to Check In

Met a problem just yesterday.

COSY 81 Chinatown and happen to be that i cant get room must produce 2 ICs
So i asked if Passport ok, the counter guy replied ok.

They claim that whole Singapore practicing it already, anyone wanna confirm? What if FL scared dun wanna show passport??? Where to go???

Only good think abt this is no longer scare the FL or Client $$ since the particular taken at recept counter.

Bad thing is, how many are willing to register ourself?? The Gov are forcing us to support legal house @ GL.

Lucky there are some hotel in GL that doesnt need to register, but the room is very lousy.

I just came back from a hotel 81 and only my ic was required. Less than 4 hrs ago.

I just had a session and only mine required and no questions asked at 81.

I went to Cosy on Saturday no such issue with asking for 2 IC. further more the FL with me sitting at the chair in the lobby.

I said I am a member. May be that is the trick, member dun need 2 IC

Cannot understand reason why must have IC. If is to check for underage, can understand. But otherwise, it should not be their business if people go there to fuck - whether it's commercial sex or lovers having an affair or whatever.

They are chasing away customers.

Identification is a deterrant to over-stayers. It is a customary practice within law enforcement in many countries to institute this method to control "aliens". The practice is more strictly enforced in budget hotels than your 5 stars equivalents because the stereotypical "aliens" tend to seek out such accomodation.

To check 2 identifications, I can only imagine they r leaving no stones unturned. I bet they will check 3 ICs if u r having a threesome.

Cosy 81 was asking for 2IC last night (7/6/10). Tried & proven even though Im a member.
They are targetting mainly on overstayers, which my gal need to produce passport + white card.

On top of targeting overstayers, can't help but wonder if the authorities have other plans for collecting such data.

The data collected can easily be used to identify foreign women who check-in to transit rooms multiple times a day. ICA may then blacklist them as suspected sex workers and deny future visa applications from them.

Whatever it is, this is no good. Let's hope this practice doesn't become a protocol for budget hotels.

I went K81 last thursday, was asked for 2 IC...
TULAN... went next door to F81.... no question asked.

Which H81 you went ?

So maybe it seems like F Hotel does not need, my case was that the guy at the counter H81 said it was practiced around Singapore.

Do they just see and confirm she is not over stayer and end of story or record her details too ?
