5) etc etc

This will only works if your big head still calling the shot and your heart still listening to your logical brain, but time will comes when you meet your match and you forgotten all the rules as fast she blink her eye. In most situation, one will never knew if he has actually fallen in love or fallen to tirak trap, bcos both just felt as good and loving with a very fine line drawing them apart.

I fall into the trap of "extended play" often enough.

Luckily the big head is able to maintain control when the request comes for serious involvement and the bank account starts to get activated with heavy requests for help.

Learning how to say NO politely and genuinely and having a great 'escape clause' when you say NO is a fine art that takes practice and a "heart of stone".

no human is emotionaless, even cold blooded devil like me cant escape the trap when meeting the right match. I would find it rather meaningless if one cheonged without feeling and emotion, just bcos he fearing to fall. Why not just take it as it comes, watching your limits and boundary.

Some "nice" things don't come by everyday. Not having it just because of "the fear" would bring regrets later on. It may not appear it... or you're not in the position for it anymore...

It is almost as similiar as having phobia of eating bcos one bitten his tongue which I have yet to witness any yet. Of course it is painful, bleeding with real blood and hurt a lot but one will stop eating forever? After recovering, he will just probably eat more carefully, taking each bite with more care and caution, one mouth by one mouth. If tongue and teeth that is born so close together since your birth could be bitten so painfully, not to mention 2 individual that was grown up in 2 totally different environment, culture, believes and background to be together.
