Part of the reasons the ang mohs cheonging cp / guangdong is cos places like Beijing & Shanghai, the gals are too materialistic & think too highly of themselves. Those ang mohs who live / work in other cities / provinces & cheong occasionally in Guangdong, they're likely to have lived in China for some time (years) oredi.

A few of my European colleagues, after being in China for some time, got fed-up, tired with Shanghai & the gals.When they go clubs / discos or Tong Ren Lu in Shanghai, it's a bar street, mostly patronised by the ang mohs ever since it's moved from Mao Ming Nan Lu. Needless, to say, prices there ketok customers big time. With Shanghainese gals' "tao" or act high-class behavior, it simply puts many people off.

So these ang mohs ask me to bring them outta Shanghai to see more of China. I started off by bringing them to bbs. Went pubbing / drinking 1st, after the drinks, go bbs. Especially in the bars, I even purposely & proudly tell the gals & FL prostitutes I'm bringing these ang moh guys to bbs. Their 1st comment, "U so uncivilised, so low class"! My response is, " face the fact, we're after the piece of pussy. Civilisation or high-class are but playing with words, makes the packaging outside, but when naked & making love or sex, it's the quality of the female body & sex (service) that matters eventually".

We don't believe in paying exorbitant prices, nor the LVs, Prada, Salvatore, etc etc, just to screw the pussy. 150 - 200 RMB in bbs, or 600 - 800 RMB in HCs in Shanghai, is good enuf 2 satisfy us (those ang mohs). U gals think too highly of yrselves. If we continue 2 pay those prices, we're only continuing 2 spoil the market, & continuing 2 look like fools paying such prices.

On weekends that we have more energy, I'll bring them to cities nearby Shanghai, such as Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuxi, Hangzhou, etc etc. We really go sight-seeing, cultural / historic sights / places, and of course, the drinks & bonk too.

But I haven't brought them to GuangDong province yet.

If in SGP, I would have brought them 1st to cheong GL, then Petain, then JB, then Indonesia. This is 1, to give a run for the SGP gals' stuck-up / arrogant attitudes, and 2, the prices in SGP. There's plenty of choices & strong competition nearby.

But I havent been in SGP for some time liao, cos I reject all job / project offers & travel to SGP, not even transit.

This is something u dont quite understand about Asian culture, especially Singapore's (though I don't really consider Singapore as Asian anymore. It's trying to be ang moh, or caucasian). And this site is mainly visited by Singaporeans.

Especially with the Govt's Foreign Talent policy, many great job / career opportunities & privileges are given to ang mohs quite some years back. There are locals who are equally, if not more competent, but the privilege & benefit of doubts are given to foreigners. As a local, how would u feel?

These foreigners go work in Singapore, gets sky-high salary & super benefits, especially compared to the locals. The local guys there get by with their salaries, while some struggle. The gals, being materialistic, given a choice to be with someone with great spending power, can spend lavishly without batting an eye-lid, cos many expenses are covered / can be reimbursed, chose to be with these foreign guys. Some gals know these foreign guys won't be around for long, but some dream these guys would stay on. This breaks many guys' hearts, also invokes lots of jealousy.

The black sheeps, namely those white trash and arrogant ones, have no respect nor regard for the locals, only making things worse. I'd seen / heard of incidents, these ang mohs provoke the locals, and say even if he gets into a fight, the Govt won't do anything to him. The law gives him the privilege, the benefits of doubts. But, if he turns around to accuse the locals, the local will be in big trouble. Furthermore, most of his expenses will be paid for. It's a big blow to the locals' ego & pride. Pride / ego is viewed as very important especially in Asia. If u are in the shoes of a local, how would u feel?

Again, when these black sheep caucasians are seen, probably even crossed-path with their arrogance against Singaporeans in China, how do u think they will feel?

U didn't get my point. Many locals are unhappy with the Singapore Govt for it, but they kept it within themselves most of the time, until they were provoked, taunted, insulted, etc. Singporeans are not new to Ang Mohs. It was a British colony, until Independence in 1965.

It was black sheep / arrogant Ang Mohs who create trouble, especially after drinking / partying. They taunted & provoke locals by saying things mention in previous post, I even heard those Ang Mohs say Asian / Chinese girls are cheap, they can play / afford to play with any woman & all the women in the country they like, including the victims' mothers!

If the foreigners / Ang Mohs kept a low profile, it wouldn't draw so much attention, unhappiness & resentment towards them. In fact, those born in the pre-war (World War 2) days, and migrants who lived through WW2, they hate / resent the Japanese even more! There's quite some Japanese in Singapore all these years. The Japanese investments & factories have been in Singapore for decades. The Japanese also drink, party, sexual entertainment, etc, but they keep low profiles in most places.

Wherever we are, it's important to respect the locals & their culture. When I was in China, I do drink / party / sex entertainment, but I didn't make a high profile. I lived like a local, I didnt raise the eye-brows of the locals. The locals didnt bother much about me either. I show respect to my colleagues, neighbours & friends, and they reciprocated well too.

I didn't get any preferential treatment, my salary is structured by HR Department of the company, I'm paid the same category & rates, I get the same employee benefits as my local colleagues. Some of them are paid even higher than me! We do share & disclose salary details among each other! I pay the same tax rates as the local, less the social security. But then, they enjoy the social security benefits, while I don't! I take public transport, ie, buses & subway to work. I even do charity in China. But my salary is high enough for a very comfortable lifestyle, even when I take it to live in Europe.

Besides asking for directions, and registering for resident permit with the police, I didnt have any other experience with the police, because I didn't have any brushes with the law. I queued up in line with all the other people at the Public Security Bureau. So I don't know if I get better treatment from the police.

I certainly enjoy good relationships & living in China.

Again, u don't understand. In Singapore, as an ordinary citizen, no matter how hard u work, you're not appreciated, the privileges & opportunities are not given to the citizens 1st. Unless he is a Government scholar, which, most times, it's because his family has connections.

Working hard, I think I did, still do and will continue to do. I'm privileged to be head-hunted, especially by European firms in recent years. In my course of work, I travelled half the globe. Though I'm at a pretty senior level, I show respect to even the lowest level employee, even the old auntie cleaners or dishwashers.

My civilised Ang Moh (Americans & Europeans) colleagues & associates, who were led by me in projects (also for entertainment) in Asia Pacific region, appreciate more of these experiences, cos when we show more respect to the locals (Asians), they appreciate the respect, and reciprocate more warmly & friendlier. We not only enjoy good working relationships, some amazing results at work were achieved, the projects / targets were successfully achieved, we made friends for life!

I'm always motivated by such results, especially in recent years, not so much by additional materialistic / monetary gains anymore. I'm happy with my current income.

You made a few good points and I understand your sentiments. Let's not generalize and catergorize all Ang Mo's into one group and you have shown in your replies that you have the intelligence and experience to know the difference.

I, myself, has seen and experience the ugly side of racism and discrimination. Athought I can't help it sometimes to poke fun at other groups of people among my friends, I don't hold a concious resentment against any ethnic groups in particular. I'm not bias, I hate everyone equally

The general feeling of this thread in particular conveys a deep overtone of racism and a condescending attitude vs foreigners -- of which I am voicing against. It's fine that certain a-butt individuals who happen to be foreigners that are disliked, but many others are respectful of our people and they didn't ask the Singapore govt for perferential treatment.

I bet if you goto any Asian country to teach English, they will more likely to hire and overpay a underqualified caucasion than better educated Asian. And isn't a fact that if you're beautiful, tall, or wealthy (born with silver spoon), you'll get better treatment in general? Should they be hated on too because society automatically view those qualities as superior?

It is normal for people to generalise. As a foreigner in a foreign land, it calls for more tolerance towards the locals / the regional people. For someone who travels or in a foreign land for work, all the more he should have the maturity & magnanimity. I have encountered many Ang Mohs who generalise too, often commenting negatively / harshly towards Asians. In some parts of Europe, some Places of Interests (museums, exhibition halls, etc) even ban some races (especially Asians) from visiting, some even have signboards at the entrances, outrightly banning those races, they even rate pets such as dogs more superior than Asian humans!!!

The democracy in Caucasian countries is somewhat different from Asian countries, it varies from country to country. Some countries claim to be Democratic, but they are worse than Communists! Nobody here said foreigners or the Ang Mohs ask the Singapore Govt for preferential treatment. It is the many provocations by the Ang Mohs on the streets that adds oil to the fire, invoking this resentment. Again, you may thank the black sheeps for it. And again, comparing with the Japanese, there are many Japanese expats across Asia in recent decades, they work in very high positions, get very high salaries & super benefits, they do drink, party, sexual entertainment, but u don't hear / feel that much resentment against them. The main difference is that they keep a much lower profile, humble & polite.

It is true that many Asians can't differentiate the different types of Ang Mohs. Especially in Europe, many countries don't speak English as their mother's tongue. It is the higher profile Ang Moh countries such as USA, UK, Australia, etc, that speak English as their mother's tongue. Therefore many Asians think that English is the Ang Mohs' native language, therefore, to learn English, they'll naturally think it's better to learn English from an Ang Moh rather than an Asian! Which Asian country has English as it's mother's tongue? This creates a market in English Language Education. Even English language itself has 2 main different "types", the American English, and the Queen's English.

It's just like many Caucasians can't differentiate between the different types of Asians. Even Chinese language, Mandarin, itself has some differences. In many Caucasian countries, many Taiwanese are engaged teach Chinese / Mandarin. Those Caucasians didn't know there's differences in Taiwanese Chinese and Mainland China's Chinese, until they travelled to China. Better still if u get a HongKong Chinese to teach Chinese language. Some words & phrases are different. Even the words are written differently in these regions!

We can't help it on the streets anywhere when people give the benefits of doubt to the richer / physically better looking people. It is almost everywhere. But it's not so acceptable with Govts who call themselves Democratic. Democratic Govts run & function by rules / policies that should treat everyone / all citizens equally. The rich-poor gap is 1 of Democratic Govts' concern, especially if it's too wide. When it becomes too wide, the poor are suppressed beyond a certain threshold, the society is at higher risk of unbalance & chaos. Isn't that how Communism evolved? Would you like to be under Communist rule?

As an advice, it's better for an Ang Moh to keep a lower profile (thanks to the damage by those black sheeps), be more humble & polite in Asia. Maybe be an "Ambassador" for the Ang Mohs, show the Asians / Singaporeans that there are good & nice Ang Mohs too. I believe that will lead to a more enjoyable stay & life in Asia. Several of my Ang Moh colleagues / associates enjoyed so much, they told me they don't wish to go back home, they wanna continue living in Asia, preferably for the rest of their lives!
