bright start, then self imploded, then relief, here are some thoughts:

- man u had the perfect start when they went 2-0 up, good goals by rashford and hojlund, RVN effect maybe?

- then man u seemed content to let porto attack with continuous crosses into the box, you could sense that sooner or later that a porto player would make the connection. porto 1st goal, de ligt, martinez and dalot are at fault as they hesitated to deal with the ball in the buildup, onana saved well but martinez was slow to react to the loose ball as pepe pounced. porto 2nd & 3rd goals were similar in the sense that samu got in front of de ligt to connect with the ball. overall defence was poor and de ligt seems to struggle against targetman type of SC

- man u mentality weak siah, even though they went 2-0 up, they were unable to kill the game off and allowed porto back into the game. their game management really kns, allowing opponent comeback has been plaguing them since last season

- rashford was terrorizing the porto defence in the first half but ETH sub him off at HT...wtf? why did he take off his best attacker? becos villa is next? really strange decision making when the scores are level. can feel that rashford is getting his confidence back, he was v direct and so hard to stop

- fernandes getting sent off in successive matches. smells deja vu fishy leh... OGS final mth in charge, fernandes got unnecessary yellow card and suspended for pool match iirc, OGS kena sacked after pool match

- improvement of attacking corner set pieces, with maguire bailing man u out with a last gasp equaliser this time. when was the last time man u scored from a corner?

- away at villa on Sun, not optimistic as villa form is better. man u is inconsistent and mentally weak, i hope they dun lose

Thanks for hilighting. Was going to do that too...after watching some highlights.
De Ligt performance was terrible. He was bullied by Samu in all the 3 goals.
Samu is big size, no doubt...but De Ligt is not a small kitten too.
Now, we all know why De Ligt was unused after Kim Min-Jae joined Bayern.
And why Bayern was willing to let him go.
De Ligt was also in the Euro 2024 squad. But never appear because Koeman's first choice pairing was Van Dijk and De Vrij.

Im not at all impressed by his performance whenever he start.

Agree with both bros... surprisingly the team plays better without him like when he was sent off the team i.e. Maguire was able to score n rescue the match from a loss to a draw...cum to think of it Maguire makes a better captain than him

Don't agree...look at Todibo in last night's game between west ham vs Ipswich, his 1st...he n really good quality players doesn't need time to bed into their teams...he was marshalling the defence like nobody's business n helped his team beat Ipswich 4-1...it's a pity they couldn't sign him because of his connections with INEOS n Nice... otherwise he is the best defender the red pussies need to save baldy

So far none had really made a great impact.

Tonight match away to Villa is at 9pm.

Villa is on a high after conjuring a 1-0 victory against mighty Bayern in the UCL.
Probably many had also overlooked they had silently managed to qualify for UCL with a 4th finish in the table last season.
Add in the talismanic but erratic GK Emiliano Martinez.
The pussies will be thankful if can escape with a point.

The defence held firm. Dalot guard the left side well for this match.
Partly because botak tell him don't venture up, I presume.
Evans put in a good shift with a few timely interceptions. My MOTM.
But Maguire was injured.
A fair result for both sides, I guess.
Probably the highlight of the match is the referee comms set malfunction. LOL !

So quiet...everybody seem to be shocked by the result...based on this game alone, it seems the players r playing baldy out in the 1st place in previous games treating themselves still on honeymoon...it goes to show if they want to really play they can do it...

not sure why they so tulan of baldy ?? ...of course baldy himself must share part of the blame for them not playing well by playing them out of their preferred position n his wrong substitutions is killing him n the team besides he doesn't know tactics wise how to turn the game around if they r trailing...his subs got no impact on the game most of the time because they r of worser quality than those they replace but mostly it is the useless players they hv recruited in this present team...none of them seems to be really good or prolific in scoring goals or helping to score goals. ..other teams get their recruitment right like City getting Haaland n Gvadiol, pool getting gravenbirch, spurs getting Ben Johnson n Solanke, Chelsea getting Palmer etc etc ...the new INEOS management team seems to be overated... sigh...in the end it was 37 yo veteran player Evans named POTM who put the rest of his younger teammates to shame
