The bill for 2 person is really expensive base on Batam standard. Anyway,thats not my question...my question is, i know 2 of the dishes (below pics) is inside the receipt,do you know how much the below 2 dishes cost base on the above receipt? Also,whats that 120k item in the receipt? Is it one of the 2 dishes? Its the most expensive item in the receipt. Sorry,i dont understand the language written in the receipt except Chinese tea,hence i ask. No obligation to reply me tho.

Dish 1 = Lo bebek – LO (Old?) duck. Rup. R 75K
Dish 2 = Brokoli scallop – Broccoli Scallop, although I don’t really see scallops in it, but it’s the receipt item closest to describing this dish. Rup. 56K

The first picture is Lo Bebek (braised duck), which according to the receipt is 75k..

Second picture is probably the brokoli scallop at 56k..

Lastly, minuman sarang burning is bird's nest drink...

Tahu grg spc Zhen bao probably means Zhen Bao Special fried tofu..

Nasi putih = white rice, hakkau = Har Gow

Looks like Zhen Bao is really quite expensive.. For this pricing, I would prefer to go to Grand Duck at Nagoya Hill or Kepri Mall; it'll probably be cheaper and the food is good.

Yeah most of the dishes on the menu are expensive, thats why if i go there it will be only for 1 reason, the porridge

Anyway, the coffeeshop beside the restaurant is selling various porridge as well. Saw another store in this coffeeshop selling l@ksa, lu mee and etc.. Probably going to try out this week

Its a good idea,but not exactly feasible. I have about 12 to 13 summaries in total,a basic guide and a List that require monthly update.

Each summary contain an average of more than 30k words and on average takes up about 5 posts due to the 4 photos and 10k words limitation in one single post.

So when each page can take up to 15 posts,so 12 summaries (12 x 5 posts) + 1 guide + 1 Batam Cheong List will be 62 posts.

And if all 62 posts were being copied and paste to new posts,it will take up from page 1973 to 1977 = nearly 5 pages of this thread. If i were to do that i will need to 1st reserve 62 posts of space in this thread with the word RESERVED,and then the forum's anti-spam function will set in to stop me for repeating each post with the same word.(most forums deem repeated posting of the same content as spam)

i gave it a 2nd thought again and come up with another method,that is to turn each summary,all 12 or 13 of them,plus the list and guide into jpeg picture format to squeeze them into page 1973(or even one single post). But the repercussion will be the whole of page 1973 will be stretching from north pole to south pole (it would likely be the longest post/page in internet forum history),who would want to read such a post/page? Hehehe... worse still,if picture files are too many or so big,the page 1973 will appear to be lagging and disrupt proper reading ,and at any point if it disrupts the function of the thread or forum due to its gigantic content,very likely it be removed. My effort will then be wasted,hehehe...

Conclusion : not feasible.

I wonder how's business in this restaurant since their pricing are on such high side in Batam term. If i were to pay this restaurant a visit, it will likely be just a one time thing but the least is ,its mostly non-sea food,hehehe... and i believe most local Chinese there only visit it on special occasion. (to me,their pricing are very close to Sillypore)

Base on whats on the receipt,it should be dinner time. Maybe lunch/breakfast time will be different pricing.

Write up a short description of the information contained when one clicks on the link followed by the actual link.

Perhaps 5 links per post so that it is more readable and easy for anybody who wants to have your informations to read. Of course the initial posts should be what you consider the most informative/useful and subsequent ones links that is less informative etc.

Using the combined idea given by you and bro Hurricane88,i believe reserving one post should be sufficient. I have about 28 days to do up all the summaries with links on it with the Batam Beginners Guide and the List,tho the list will eventually become out-dated over time since the reserved post will become uneditable after about 28 days. Still,i will say it is a good idea,but i am only afraid i might do something not right that may breech the forum's rules.

I dont know if its gonna work out,but flipping back to my bookmarked links,i realise i only starts writing summaries since my 3rd trips onward,so that makes it enough time to even add my next trip summary for my April 2015 trip in it too (thereafter no more adding on due to post limitation). Ok,back to my summaries. I only start writing my trip summaries from my 3rd Batam trip onward in this thread,and as this forum has a single post limitation on the number words and photo ,i shall share all the links of my summaries with 2 links in each summary that i backed up starting from April 2014.

One of my main purpose for writing summaries are for my future after-trip-reference as well as for others NOT to make the mistakes i made before.

1. From 14th April 2014 ,my 3rd trip to Batam and it is my 1st summary in this thread. I was a newbie back then,reading back today really gives me a good laugh especially when i think back on those dumb mistakes i made....lol. Here is the Full Link.

2. 6th of May 2014 after getting more good advise from senior bros here,i made my 4th trip to Batam. And some of the photos shared (above link) after a while went dead,but my bookmarked summary link photos are still intact.

3. Soon it was 5th June 2014,thats my 5th trip to Batam,hehehe...and it was during the Batam MTQ time where most booking joints are not fully open for business for fear of raids by the Batam authority. It wasnt a exactly a good trip for me. Well,for the complete story with photos,it is being bookmarked here.

4. Wah! I actually didnt have a back up bookmark on my 6th Trip to Batam becos it was written LIVE when i visit Batam,hehehe....seriously,i have no one-click-to-go link as the summary/FR link is being divided into few parts scattered all over in the thread. It was also my 1st Ramadan trip and Ramadan is known to be "not a good time" to visit Batam.

5. My 7th Trip to Batam on 5th Aug and back on 6 Aug,its a 2D1N. Hmm...i always have the impression i always go for 3D2N,hehehe...the 7th Trip contains information of VOA aka Visa-On-Arrival for foreigners entering Batam too. Anyway,i did remember to do a bookmark on this one,hehehe...

6. 25th Sept was my 8th Trip to Batam....at this point,i am already having a little concussion reading my trip summary and tracing my thread from the SBF side...lol.Its REALLY tough tracing back a particular post or my summary in this thread. I know its there,but finding it is a challenge. The bookmarked summary is so much easier.

7. The Oct 2014 Batam trip,it was my 1st Barelang Bridge visit and my 9th trip to Batam. It was my BEST TRIP in Batam.To date,none of my trip could match this one. My only regret is,i didnt extend it to a 4D3N. Btw,its also my 1st trip with someone i do not know in person from this thread.

8. On my 10th Trip to Batam,Prima Ferries has change name to Horizon Fast Ferries. My 1st trip with more than 1 bro from this forum whom i did not know in person. Its consider as my 1st group trip i guess,hehehe...i think everyone has a good time together. Good memories to remember by in years to come.Also 1st time i have to reject a girl after booking,hehehe... The Full Story Here.

9. Now for my 11th Trip on 9th to 11th Dec. Quite a good trip in general,and again its in group. I kind of like group trip. But group trip means less trying of new things and i am not the type who like to repeat the same thing over and over again in Batam. Bookmarked of my 11th Trip

10. My 12th trip on Jan 2015,and yet its is another group trip . And this is another good one too becos we have a bro who could speak Malay (tho not Bahasa).Save us a lot of trouble and we score some SYT bonk at 250k per pop real easy!! Read on....

11. The 13th Trip,which is also CNY and my MOST expensive trip to Batam ,cost a bomb but enjoying the least. The scenarios is entirely different from the normal last 12 trip i had in Batam,the girl's pricing to taxi fare...even the food,they are higher in price. Read on...

12. March 2015 trip,a trip i knew that would not be as bad as my last CNY trip...its the most recent one as of date of this post. Not my best trip,but neither is it the worst...rating 8/10 overall. The complete details....

13. 14th April 2015 trip to Batam,my number 15th trip to Batam....here's the Detailed Summary. Contains Indosat Mentari internet sim card info,Ocean Massage and Princess.

I guess thats is all i could update before this post expires in about 10 days from now as then, i wont be able to edit this post anymore. So just treat Batam like a RPG World and step into this whole new World of Wonder to explore its treasures. If you know how to go to Sentosa island alone in Sillypore,Batam will be like a walk in the park.You dont even need to understand Bahasa Indonesia/Malay to travel there (knowing of course will be an advantage),you mainly need to understand the language i am writing here & have with you your 2 hands/10 fingers for communication. The most expensive item is the BIRD NEST. This one has no market price. Up to shop to call. Other than that, the other items are reasonable for a restaurant.


There are cheaper road side makan if you are on a budget. Chinese restaurant further away are available too... some in house restaurant also good food, half the price. Only issue is must know where to go for it.

Tried the charcoal fishhead steamboat at 1 inhouse restaurant before. Nice and cheap. Problem is that i don't know where am i as a senior bro bought me there.
