Re: ICA immigration rules for VN nationals
Did not login for past 2 days and was pleasantly surprised when i saw so much discussion on my query . Hi guys, really thanks for all your kind advice.
My query is on behalf of my S'porean friend who has married a VN national (the wife has already obtained S'pore citizenship): His wife will be giving birth soon and my friend hopes to get his VN wife's relative to come to S'pore to help take care of the newborn child for about 2 months (plus or minus a 1-2 weeks). The VN relative in question is a 50+ year old kampung type lady - so no worry that ICA will mistake her for potential WL . My friend's hope is that this VN relative can come S'pore on 30 days visa, leaves for M'sia or return to VN for a few days then come to S'pore again for another 30 days visa. Strictly nothing hanky-panky . I asked on his behalf just to find out whether his plan will hit a snag - will ICA grant only a short 3-day or 7-day visa to his VN relative on her second visit (or worse - simply disallowing her from entering S'pore). If this particular VN relative has been mother of the wife then things would be easy because the wife can easily sponsor her mom's stay her - I know this perfectly well because only 2 months back the VN wife of another S'pore friend of mine in same situation sponsored her VN mom (also 50+ year old) to obtain a 3-year long term social visit pass (LTSVP). ICA confirms that the LTSVP allows her mom to leave and return to S'pore as and when she likes as long as the LTSVP has not expired - of course provided she is not caught doing illegal things such as working in S'pore. Once again, thanks for all your kind help! |

ICA may treat her relative as illegal worker. Be it 14 or 30 days, its meant for social visits...and not to work in Spore. Why dont she go get a local nanny or domestic maid? |

Recently, the same procedure hit a snag. Normally when we are at ICA, the officer at the counter will stamp on the passport immediately after he listens to our case. Now, they will not listen much, collects the passport back and ask me to collect the passport the next day. When i collected the passport the next day, they only give 14 days. This relative's passport is brand new and 1st trip to singapore. I guess ICA is starting to be very strict on VN nationals nowadays. Any bros has any recent similiar experience to share? |

I also happen to know my friend's 50+ year old VN relative in question. This old lady is a retiree happily living with her adult kids in VN - no money problem. She has agreed to help not because she is hard up for money, in fact she has made it clear she would not want to be paid, but of course my friend also automatic and will buy small presents when she returns to VN. She agrees to help simply because she is quite close to my friend's wife. That's all |

To b on the safe side, its always better to apply for a social visit pass before she enter spore. Other word, u go down ICA building b a sponsor n apply a pass in adv for her. Fill in form V39. More info on SVP can b found in their website http://app.ica.gov.sg/serv_visitor/s...ypes.asp#short w regards of those 50 yr+ aunties being refused extention, tink 2 years back while i m goin to batam, there a group of indon aunties abt 6 or 7 of them being refused entry! tink ICA suspect them illegal wkin here as cleaner or hawker.

BRO, You may be wrong about this. I have done it twice and both times, personal guarantee letters work. The first time was when my wife's cousin went back to Saigon after being with us for 2 months. Before she left, i gave her the letter and asked her to show it to ICA at airport upon her return 3 days later. 3 days later, she arrived in Singapore. Because she wasn't so sure about the direction in the airport, she made friends and followed 3 working gals. At the immigration, the 3 gals were refused entry. My wife's cousin showed the officer the letter from me, and she was given 30 days Social Visit Pass. The 2nd case was my wife's other cousin. She came to visit us in Singapore and i gave her a guaranttee letter. She showed it to the officer at the airport and she was given 30 days also. But i also do supposed that the details in the guaranttee letter must be clear. i stated both mine and my wife's name and NRIC number. |

Re: ICA immigration rules for VN nationals
One thing abt airport, ICA is too service oriented n scare complain, if they know the person got a sporean fren or relative, they tend to give entry. Mayb ur letter does works!
If at other checkpoint i m sure they gonna throw away ur letter! (pls correct me if i m wrong) n treat passenger like dirt! Frequent traveller should know tat when travelling thru woodland, tuas, habourfront, the ICA officer dun even bother to say hello or thx. But at airport, they greet n say thx after clearance.

Re: ICA immigration rules for VN nationals
Just wondering, what has ICA immigration rules got to do with field reports on international sex scene?
FYI, there is another forum for non-commercial sex discussion at Sam's Alfresco Coffee Hub : http://forums.delphiforums.com/n/mai...boymod%2Fstart |

Will suggest to my friend that he (or his wife) sponsors their VN relative a social visit pass. This may be the best way instead of trying her luck at Changi Airport. Do you (or maybe bro SingViet) have had any experience normally how long does ICA grant for such social visit pass? If you (or bro SingViet) wish to advise, please PM me and we can keep our communication private without taking up bandwidth here . I do understand some bros feel non-sex topics should not be discussed on SBF. |
