Yes bro Shanghian, the Heng Shan Hotel KTV is on the right hand side while facing the hotel along heng Shan Rd, with a pair of Golden Brass Doors.

Very wild place, gals literally taking off clothes & tops....including bras!

Yep the Hengshan KTV is a good deal: not the prettiet mm's but some of the most fun you will have in this city. Good experience, shall go back there when time arises.

my first sharing of 7M for you guys. Its within xujia hui. was first intro many months ago. its better to call in to book a room with the mommy or MM. depending on how many, the charges to a room is according to the size of room. my suggestion - reach there around 8pm. go roam near the toilet where there are like an army of gals sitting there. just order the one you want and go. no need to ask permission, and its more exiting. 1st timers shld go with another for the hunt. else u can really get stoned with tt many gals. Once inside, SOP. but beware of how u behave cos sometimes there might be checks since that place is becoming well known. to da-bao, check with mommy to bring those that can. tips - 200 to 300 depending how well she serves you. dun spoilt the mkt. a fren of mine bought a bottle of chivas for 800 and mommy waived the room charges. just pay for the beer. its quite nice lah, till you been there 300 times. enjoy.

there is a short row of pubs along that stretch. looks challenging from the outside. it is like a MS away from the buzzing sounds & lights of this great city. though it is unlikely for SH pubs to blackmail nowadays, always ask for the drinks menu b4 u order, unless you know the people inside. there are drinking femates willing to play dices and drink with you. as for da-bao, you have to check it yourself. the drinking femates are not for da-bao as far as i know (could be wrong) but there are working gals there too. mostly gals there are from other provinces you might find a jewel among the stones.

if not sure, tell the taxi driver 延安路-铜仁路酒吧街... they shld know. there are a number of pubs. some are upstairs and i think those on ground floor with a view inside alri good enuf. Remember your dance moves from the disco days? well, here is the chance to re-live that all over again.
you only go there on a wednesday (ladies night). be there before 9pm to guarantee a seat. (sounds familiar?) get some beers (Corona - 45, Buds - 40) and hang around. the gals gets free tequila sunrise on wednesday night. the best spot is at opposite end f the entrance. actions will start after 10pm. u probably had your second bottle of beer by then. and if you are "happening" and fun to be with, then the bees will be attracted. there are dinosaurs walking around asking you to buy drinks - ignore them. catch a few glances here and there and zero them. there are patrons too so u wouldnt want to mistake them as working gals. i m always amazed by the gal-guy ratio in SH, its always enuf to go around so dun hv to fight among brothers. the party usually ends around 1am by then the crowd will thin, etc... so if u are still holding to your beer at 1am, then u might want to try agian next Wed.

Glad to found some bros that shares the same cup of tea. Commercial Cheonging had become rather of a bore to me nowdays and hunting for a gem "non-commercially" is a new challenge.

Got lucky couple of years back when my friend in SHA brought me to a pub with barmaids and sometimes you can never believe your luck. One night there, hooked up with a not-bad looking barmaid, brought her for supper, sent her home like a gentleman. But....second date for breakfast and the rest was history. She was not a working lady, came to my hotel everynite for a whole week! Just some dinners and some gifts in exchange for a really good time each time I return to SHA. too bad the feelings sizzled after my non-committal attitude.

Returned to the commercial cheonging due to too short stays in SHA ever since.

Hopefully the new recommendations will bring me some new leads....:)

A very thorough intro on Zapata's Bar! You must be a regular there, having stating your info so detailed.......a very good inro infact!

However, sad to say it's not really my 'cup of tea' for Zapata's Bar, reason being that it's mainly populated with Whites or the 'Ang-Mohs'......infact too many of them there.

True for the fact that it's quite a good 'fishing' ground, but with also the many FLs there hunting for biz......

I guessed once in awhile to pop by isn't that bad though.....but still feel simply out of place with so many Whites there.

I'm ok for now, and yes in US now. Pretty stressed up here, mainly bcuz of high work expectations from US HQ bossess as well as my PRC bossess.
Also, still having the bloody jet-lag & time diff so couldn't really sleep well for the last 2 nights till today!

A ktv called 7m in Da Xi Yang Yu Le Cheng (My eng translation: pacific ocean entertainment center)大西洋娱乐城。 The place is located on the 7m's level, (there is a level called 7m, haha, strange??) It s in xu jia hui, its a fucking good place. My sh frd brought me there. Minimum for a smallest room is 500 ren min bi, gal tip is 300. But the good thing is u can do anything, anything u want, beside sex in the room. We all take off our clothes and gals' clothes while playing games, whoever lose will take off one piece of clothes , u can french kiss her strip her, do anything, and to get her out is 1k ren min bi standard, but we manage to get some free ones. One last thing, always go there early , by 8 a lot of ppl liao , best is to get number from mama san, then ask her book for u , if not usually wont have seats, cuz the place is damn popular. But deco is not tt nice, like party world or k box in singapore. They simply cannot rennovate lor, one day off, meaning lose how much money liao? If u go there and new, u can request for mama san called, cheng hong, but her gals not as pretty as the other mama sans , but she is one nice lady, friendly , just be frind with her. She can bring other group's gals as well, remember one last thing, no matter what the gals said, just give me 300 ren min bi, tts the minimum and enough liao ,for whatever u do there, unless she jerk off for u , haha, one gal used to mast me inside under clothes wif my frds watching, damn funny !! haha, miss those fun days.

since you are in loushan guan lu, but are u staying nearby? if you are, you can try the Pinnochio (金球之星) which some bros here hv mentioned. need to book earlier as they onli hv 21 rooms. else take a walk along 仙霞路 where there are numerous choice. there is this 虹桥俱乐部.. next to shanghaimart where its like a HC setup. never been there but saw some pretty 东北 gals going up...

No worries on the info bro, mere sharing that's all, nothing to it!
Just exercise cautions while 'scouting' around the KTVs in the area of Xian Xia Rd....true that there are plentiful KTVs along there, but one needs to be cautious when patronising one of them being that you are not sure of the environment as well as being alone. Do go with afew company should you want to patronise one of the KTV.

Perhaps, pick one that have been recommended here by one of the bros....better play safe than sorry!

Yes indeed I miss China as being in US is all work, and with the time difference and jet-lag matter, plus all meetings packed 'neck to neck'...really killing me man!
Furthermore, all things in terms of food, accomodation & everything else are so expensive here! Too used to the China expenditure and cost of living so literally converting whatever I spent on to RMB Yuan, feels so painful!

Last but not least, wishes you a pleasant trip back to homeland bro. Will sure to give you a call when I come back, maybe mid June. You take good care & keep in touch via email or Skype phone me maybe bro...that way we chat instead of typing.

Cheong places for most of us has become a part of work. When we go out we prefer not to cheong. Once in a while a close friend or business associate comes in we bring them only because we do it for them. The novelty wears out in around three to six months for some of us, and a little longer for the rest.

I got my hands on some very good tea leaves. Waiting for you to be back in Shanghai again so I can let you try some and let you bring some back to Euroland with you.

Bro Shengge is right. I am also sick and tired of the typical Singaporean hunger for easy instant gratification. I think it has a lot to do with the way singaporeans are brought up, being spoon fed and all. A lot of them seems to think everyone in the world owes them something.

Part of the shanghai experience is to explore and find out the ins and outs on your own. Build up your own circle of local friends and you will find a nice new angle to things, list of restaurants and other entertainment locations. Honestly speaking, finding a nice quaint little restaurant with good food gives me more delight than finding a new KTV with wild girls. I speak for only myself but I think my stomach rules my brain more than my libido. No wonder I am Fat and Ugly. :D

I am sorry to learn that you have to work during the May Golden Holiday week. Well, it is life! I do have a feeling that you might not have the same wavelength as many brothers in Shanghai. Well, there is nothing wrong to explore the place yourselves. There are enough written reports about Pubs and Discos, either through FR or through our TCSS postings. When I first came to Shanghai, there wasn't any Forum like this one, well, I went places alone most of the time. Brothers here are still willing to help if anyone asks specific questions the answers of which are still not in the postings.

Shanghai is not a boring place. Based on my humble experience of more than 10 years in China, I have to admit that Shanghai is an expensive place for most of the things, nevertheless, it is also a place where one can derive a lot of funs.

Part of the shanghai experience is to explore and find out the ins and outs on your own. Build up your own circle of local friends and you will find a nice new angle to things, list of restaurants and other entertainment locations. Honestly speaking, finding a nice quaint little restaurant with good food gives me more delight than finding a new KTV with wild girls. I speak for only myself but I think my stomach rules my brain more than my libido. No wonder I am Fat and Ugly.

One word of caution. Nothing is ever free in China, especially shanghai. I am not saying it is impossible, just very rare and far in between cases. Most of the "friendlier" girls in pubs and discos are working ladies anyway, so rather than wasting your time and chatting them up, just go ahead and ask them how much. Save you tons of trouble. Maybe I am speaking from my point of view as a fat and ugly person. For all i know you may be a stud and women fall at your feet to worship you... (I've actually met a few friends like that, they get lots of action!)

As for the places you mentioned, hengshan road is dead, maoming road is dead. Tongren road seems to still have a little life. However, these are all hangouts for your ang mo expats. I personally do not like to hang out in these places. I will make exceptions for places with really solid live bands (like LUNA at xintiandi).

And also, not only that we are getting tired of these places, a lot of us are getting advanced in years and our vital organs are no longer 100%. We have to watch the amount of alcohol we consume so we don't lose our liver or someother important part.

How are you? Thinking about going Euroland, I feel very sianz... Two weeks.. some more.

I long to go back to China. Although I did not know at all the details about your Past encounter. I could sense that it was not a pleasant one. Look on the bright side. I have gone through a lot, and with good luck, my family is still in good shape. Now, even I am with a constant companion, I am very clear in my mind that one day, she would leave me for other man, simply because I would never leave my love ones at home for her. With this in mind, I know exactly what I want and what to do. When the eventuality surfaces, I would not be hard hit as I am constantly prepared for it.

Some brothers whom I have the opportunity to know and to chit chat with jokingly told me that I should write a book on my past encounters. Two of them even offered to find me ghost writer for the book. I decline as I think it will be a joke as there are so many more brothers who are more experience than me. But, one thing for sure, they know what I have gone through, not only in number, but in variation and in different forms. Not to show off.. Bro SGPShanghai knows that.

To get action, you definitely can. But you do have to invest your time and efforts. Know them, ask them out, go out with them several times and TCSS with them. And after that, maybe you get to score a bit. By that time, and doing your calculations, you would have spent quite a bit of money also for all the food and expenses. To think you just met someone and you can score for free... hmmm I doubt it. Like I said in my earlier posts, China is a place where the strong and streetsmart survive. The girls are a lot smarter than you think. Much more so than girls in Singapore. In Beijing, it is relatively easier to get what you are looking for, but you still have to invest some time and effort and plus you need to have northern china accent.

Babyface has moved from maoming road to huai hai road. It is not very expensive but prices are around market. I havent been there for the longest time but i think chivas is around 700 there if i am not wrong.

Xintiandi is very upclass now. But it depends on what you mean by happening. I like Luna because they really have a very good band and I am the type that appreciates live music. I do not really care about the crowd.

Anyway I am kind of bored these days. PM me if you want to go out. I don't really drink so i will just pay for my own coke or something.

Actually, in my entertainment sessions, I met 2 or 3 KTV mm that are so lonely in shanghai that they call me out just to hang out. Nothing sexual. They even pay for makan half the time. We eat very cheap anyway. Some of them are just so lonely and need someone to talk to. These type I also cannot bear to FOC them. They are human too and it is not an easy profession that they choose. Yes, there are a lot of bad apples out there but sometimes you have to understand, some of them are really at conflict with themselves. Just be a listening ear loh and at the same time becareful not to be a carrot head. If you do not give them the chance to rip you off, they can't. Honestly speaking, I have met some nice girls in bad situations. I will never date them and make them my gf, just because the premise of knowing them is already a problem. But killing sometime while having cheap food is not going to hurt. I do not have that much time to spare anyway.

I just wish to add on that please remember that in shanghai, guys are expected to pay for everything, even if you are hanging out with platonic friends. That is the unspoken rule. If your female friends have something close to a heart, they will offer to pay and even then, you still have to insist to pay. You will avoid paying only when the girls insist to pay and will not take no for an answer. Any action outside of this will leave your ass out cold in the summer heat in the days to come.

So, please please do not ask questions like "Do i have to buy them drinks?" or "do I have to treat them?". It is understood that YOU HAVE TO. So my next questions to you are: Is it worth it? What are you chances to score if you treat all these? When is your breakeven point, if ever? Will your ROI justify your investment? What is your internal rate of return? Will your investment be smarter if you have a fixed investment with a guaranteed return? damn... the financial side of me is coming up again.. down boy!!

And also, if you can ONS with minimal investment, please teach me. I want to be cool as a cucumber just like you. I (and shengge, if he is willing) will buy you BBQ with satay and all, a local china delicacy if you haven't tried it yet.

I dun knoe what the points are for but I guess SG and I suspect you can get discount in many places also there is talk it can be used to exchange for ONS at some PUBs ( ask the alpha guy... heard he got some jalan here) but this one not verified (still rumour onli),others on the way I heard (being negotiated) is additonal frequent flyer points with major airlines when you present you SBF membership card(must login and show that your have posted good FR and verified by some senior SBF members) and special upgrade (eg from ecomony to business, business to 1st etc) very useful for long haul flights (maybe they can get it on time for your flight to euroland....btw have agood and pleasant trip and see you in China soon).
As for smelly tofu...love it too and dun wan to know else I will not be able to continue eating..fo SGs cat meat..I heard it too and it is damn scary.

My statement stems from my eagerness to learn from the mistake that I have made, for my own betterment. Maybe I have over reacted, for which I apologise. Thank you all for the moral support. If what bro Shanghian said comes true, I will be travelling to everywhere in Business Class, but Bro shengge or Bro namelo will be in First Class as they have a lot of points. Hahaha... No offence, joking only, Bros shengge and naemlo. Oh yes, Bro naemlo, can transfer some points to me or not, I have not been in Business Class before, and wish to try. Hahahaha... You are a kind hearted Old Man mah, so I dare to ask.

Please do not get me wrong, I am not soliciting brothers here to up my points. Indeed, if I could, I would distribute what I have to every deserving brother, and keep 10 points to allow me to continuous posting. I do not travel business class, and although very fat, I manage to squeeze myself in those small pathetic seats of aircraft. Sigh... I hope SBF point can upgrade me. Hahahaha....But, I would not be in Shanghai this time round, as we have big project coming up in Sichuan. Bro SGPShanghai and shengge will tell you that Sichuan is my favourite place, and Bro SGPShanghai would even say that because Sichuan girls are usually NTTL. This time, I am meeting a Chongqing girl friend, who is really really NTTL. She is short, which makes kissing her at standing position difficult, but she does have an Ang-mo look and good skin complexion, like most Sichuan girls. Bro shengge, cheong-nao or not. If I have more time, I shall post some FR's on my trip to Sichuan.

Few Q caught me surreounding around the cost and the ONS.. Well, I ask so much about the cost here because I am just a poor guy. dun think can afford like bro here . Going to KTV easily cost me 1000... So sorry for too many mention when I do not have the info, Yah, being a New Generation guy probably I believe more in ONS that not neccessary need to spend a lot of money. I have not tried before but my friend done that and I suppose to do it in Shanghai... haha
But after all the advise here, It seem to me SG, HK , KL is a better place for ONS ,, hahaha.. So I have discovered the best way is dun touch Shanghai woman... Just go to any HC for the shiok if we are hungry.. for me is a better way gua..

In life got "Yin" and "Yang" so sometime must balance..good times in China and some not so good times in "Euroland"...when you can compare the two then there is some meaning to life...else how you know ChongQing is good b'cos compared to the rest ...they are the best...miss the double action that you recommended in Chengdu, feels like ages since I was there , must make a trip soon, sure thing about the NTTL....like to try a "E" cup hehehehehe

The most important thingy about getting a ONS (One Night Stand) here inChina be it in Shanghai or Beijing or ChongQing or perhaps somewhere else it matters, TIME + MONEY is the main essence! I sincerely asked you to bear that in mind.......

If you're what you said to be being thrifty in spending, and here for a mere 2 weeks time span, then visiting a HC or a BBS (Barber Shop), having your lustful needs fulfilled would be the BEST choice! There're plentiful of info on both HCs & BBS herein mentioned for your choice to pick on......and definitely within your budget. Most economical means is to a BBS, having a BJ or even a FJ for a mere RMB 200 max. You get to get what you want and still taste the PRC gals eventually!

ONS here is more suitable for long-stay personnels whom can repeatedly visit a joint and end up with a eventual 'catch'.......casting the net that's is!
Not to mention by doing so, one might end up with spending even more end of the day! Pls weigh it.

To keep harbouring the thoughts of getting a ONS here would only get you into unforseen dangers & traps set upon you by the PRC 'predators' (PRC Gals)....beware! Many lessons & experiences shared by lots of fellow bros here can be read from.

As aftermath feelings of my recent trip, I totally share your sentiments on the travelling aspect & most of all, to a 'Ang Moh' country for the fact we've all been accustomed to PRC cost of spendings & it's culture, which makes us felt so uneasy to be in a 'Ang Moh' Land bro.....I felt that way when I was there! It's indeed very sickening to a certain extend or degree that one simply don't wanna venture out of the hoel at night or during spare time...that's how I felt & spent my spare /free time there though.....staying inside the hotel room watching TV that's all!.......

Do constantly tell yourself for the fact that work is the main objective to be there whereas all other matters are secondary big bro......just keep looking at the end of the 'tunnel' which the day to depart is the only thingy in mind! I did that & felt so relieved on the day I left...literally without looking back at all!

I'm sure you've accumulated more experiences to tell me how it feels or even what to do big bro.....just sharing with you my utmost thouhts big bro PTR.

Thank you for sharing your experience to me and all the kind words about myupcoming Euroland trip (in les than six hours time, in fact). Yes, I have been travelling to Ang Mo countries, at least for 4 months a year. I did not like those days in the AngMo lands. Although I know the place very very well, having been there the first time in late seventies (that's how old I am). I have many friends there, still I like Singapore and China, especially Shanghai where all the kind brothers are stationed. Although getting real ONS in the town that I am in, frandly speaking, is not really that difficult for Asians especially if you speak the language well (Strange isn't it!), but after a while, the thrill no longer exists. Having many good friend thee allows me to go to spend my weekends in country side for the tranquility and peace, an old man like me need that and enjoy the ambiance.

I have tendered my resignation from the job, but sad to say, although my resignation is accepted, but I am obliged to be there. Instead of four months, I need to stay half of that time. I wonder whether this is the definition of resignation of my boss. I really want to spend more time with my family and my good brothers in China. Of course, the NTTL meimeis lah.. Bro! especially those from Sichuan.

During all these times in China, especially in Shanghai, You have been very supportive of me, and I am glad to have someone like you to share my joy and sorrow. The latter is of course the most valuable one. It is only when one is overseas that one realises deeply the importance of having true friends. Citing one incident, I was deeply moved by your burst of unhappiness to that Harbin girl who was with me. It was a show of care to me, and I deeply appreciate even today, although it happened four years ago. Thank you very much. You and shengge are the information providers, selfless ones to brothers to Shanghai, be them old or young, and I sincerely hope that you will continue to do so. I only write about warning and unhappiness incidents so that our brothers would not fall into traps. What happened was the next evening, she introduced another girl who was really NTTL, somemore first night come back to work after a long rest of one year. Fresh and Good!

We should go Chengdu and explore the happening place together. Hahahaha...

To be fair to Alpha123, it is not impossible to have a ONS here in Shanghai. I personally have this experience but I agree with you that you sure do need time because you might need to date your target(s) a couple of times to get to know each other better before you get your ONS. Only on 1 ocassion did I get my ONS on the first date. As for money, it depends on your target(s). Mine were all working young Shanghainese who're very independent so they offered to pay for their share when we were out on dates. IMHO, the most important factor is CHARISMA (or X-FACTOR). With that, even if you have no time or money, your potential target(s) will willingly fall prey to your hunger. And that'll lead to more until it all fades off...

Truthfully, I'm short and average looking but I somehow appeal to my potential target(s) so I managed to net a few goals in the past couple of years during my stay in Shanghai. But still, a word of caution to those who persist for the sake of a kiss who will pay a hefty price...

My 2-cents worth... :D

Chongqing!!! Chivas at 250 a bottle, KTV room at 200. And this is at a upper middle class KTV. It is actually cheaper to sing in these KTVs than Haoledi. Shanghai is so damn expensive.

On a bright note here, I went to a legit (or so I thought) massage place not too far from my office on Zun Yi rd (actually not far from Yu Ping sauna) yesterday during lunch break.
My back was killing me from the plane trips.

I have already been there couple of times before and had some very relaxing legit massages.
Like usual I was rought upstairs where they have these mats on the floor. Here came the mm (quite pretty one from Sichuan; love these Sichaun girls, have to agree with PTR).

I find that to come to Euroland for more than three months a year and travel in the plane for more than 12 hours each way are just too much to bear. I have therefore decided to quit the one in Euroland and concentrate in the other two places, one of which is in China. Of course!

There are all sorts of people in this forum, and over the years, I have learnt to endure them. Bro SGPShanghai69 and I, and many others, are just trying our best to contribute to this forum as best as we could. You too are one of the good contributors as well.

I am in Euroland now, and have to endure another 10 days before going to China to meet meimeis at my favourite place - Sichuan. The weather here is not so good, and the sad thing is I need to put on a stupid neck tie and coat to work as the dress code of my position is such. I am sure you understand.

Back to work now and look forward to meet you in person in China.

According to the report, it was frequented by workers from other provinces working at the nearby construction sites. The camera even caught a middle-aged worker being threatened aggressively, hit and kicked, by "pimps" because he shortchanged his payment by RMB5. Eventually, he reluctantly paid up with sourness displayed on his face.

The women just stand in front of the door, soliciting from passers-by and the room inside is old and run-down, everything reminiscent of our very own Desker Road.

Amazing, isn't it!

Agree with your comments. It is filthy and unhygienic like Desker Road, which is patronised by mainly foreign workers for a cheap shag so I don't think any brothers here would be crazy enough to visit that place.

Parkson success in China an eye-opener

SHOPPING in the Parkson Department Store at Central HuaiHai Road, Shanghai, one could easily mistake the weekdays for weekends.

This multi-level store in the centre of the city is usually crowded, even during working hours.

There are at present 39 Parkson outlets in 27 cities, making this Malaysian enterprise the largest department store chain in China.

Many Malaysians are surprised when they visit these outlets. Firstly, it is an eye-opener to see for themselves the strong purchasing power of the Chinese, although many have read about it.

Secondly, they are surprised that the Malaysian-based retail group is so popular in this foreign land.

The outlet in HuaiHai Road, for example, receives an average of 15,000 to 20,000 shoppers daily, more during weekends and public holidays.

“Parkson is the preferred anchor tenant in China’s shopping malls because we help to woo shopper traffic,” said Parkon Retail Group Ltd’s (PRG) chief executive officer Chew Fook Seng.

PRG, which is listed in Hong Kong, wholly owns 23 of the outlets. It also manages 12 stores that belong to its parent company Lion Diversified Bhd (a member of Malaysia’s Lion group), and four for third parties.

Parkson’s business is flourishing, and its figures speak for themselves.

PRG’s net profit has quadrupled since year 2002, soaring to 274.3 million renminbi (RM125mil) last year on the back of rising operating revenue that had more than doubled to 1.21 billion renminbi (RM550mil) from 561.8 million renminbi (RM256mil) in 2002.

To ride on the Chinese consumption boom, PRG is expanding the chain.

“Our vision is to have 100 stores in China. We are targeting to open at least 30 in the next five years,” said Chew, adding that certain populous cities will have multiple stores.

“The prospect of retail business is bright here,” he said.

The Chinese government anticipates its retail sales, including those conducted via restaurants and travelling, to reach seven trillion renminbi this year.

Parkson brought in the modern shopping concept that features trendy fashion and foreign brands into China in the early 90s when state-owned stores like YouYi (Friendship Store), which sold local products, were the only choice for shoppers.

The first Parkson store was opened in Beijing in 1994.

Lion Group boss Tan Sri William Cheng seized the opportunity to be the early “foreign bird”.

“We were here early. I think we were among the first few, if not the first, foreign retailing groups that came to China,” said Chew, a Malaysian who has pioneered Parkson operations in China.

“The local retailers seldom operate outside their provinces or counties. That actually created opportunities for us to establish our foothold and expand across China,” he added.

But being a pioneer in a foreign land is not easy.

Getting to know consumer tastes was a major challenge for the management in the early years.

“Shoppers’ spending patterns and preferences vary among provinces due to weather and cultural backgrounds,” Chew said.

“There are over 30 provinces and municipalities here. So you can imagine how diverse the consumer tastes can be.”

Operating in such a dynamic market, monitoring customers’ purchasing habits is a crucial task. PRG has an IT system at its Beijing headquarters doing the job. Information is disseminated to the relevant regions and individual outlets for decision-making.

Parkson outlets in China operate on the concessionaire model.

According to Chew, concessionaire sales accounted for about 80% of the revenue.

Not all the shoppers are aware that Parkson is actually founded and owned by a Malaysian. But the brand name has taken root, and this is definitely a big achievement.

Nonetheless, the years ahead are not without challenge as more players, including giant retail players from the West, enter the market.

“I think we have got the first-mover advantage,” said Chew.

Without a doubt Parkson got loads of people going in and out of the complex. This is a norm in Shanghai though and not specifically Parkson. Many other shopping complex do have a great number of shoppers day in and day out.

But what are the real downside of these shopping complex? I am not trying to be bias about the report, anyone know about the initial investment made by Parkson? Ahh.. now that's a question mark!

Anyone who's interested about investing in the retail and restaurant business here in Shanghai gotta be real careful though. If one is gonna base on a report like that... hahahha then good luck.

Personally I believe that TIME=MONEY, 时间就是金钱. If you have the time to spare by all means go hook up someone. For me I don’t have the time so I just pay to satisfy my needs. I’m considered an expat but getting a local expat meager salary, I have bills to pay, transport and food to cover. I’m not those that’s comes here with the company paying for all your expenses. So I do think twice about spending my money and where it goes.

I was with a brother in Shanghai and both of us were with one "girl friend" each. After we had a long walk on the Nanjing Dong Lu shopping mall. We sat down at a cafe. There was a goldsmith shop nearby. The two girls happily walked into it, and both my friend and I continued to drink our coffee. Both came back empty handed. We did not ask why.

Later, my friend told me that his girl was interested to buy an item but found it to be expensive, My so call girl friend told her "Ask you Man to pay for it!" When I related this incident to another girl whom I have known for more than 5 years. She said "We, the Chinese girls will not use our own money to buy these expensive items! What are boy friends for then?"

The mobiles which the girl used before is given to her parents as they have agreed. The guy is like so broke that he had to borrow money from other people to buy the new 4000rmb phone. Is it love? or just the saying of shanghainese men are weak?

It happened when coloured screen first appeared in the market and that was around Chinese New Year. He told me his wife prepared to buy a new phone, the latest model during that time. I told him, hey you are jobless now, why your wife still wants to buy new phone. She said she will use her OT paid during the CNY period to pay for the phone. I was asking whether her phone has damaged. He said, who knows? Probably she would damaged it herself and told me it was spoilt the next day....:eek:

Btw, forgot to mention that the wife is a nurse. I am not saying that nurse is not good, just that in China for them, they tend to compete among each others. Each week he has to follow the wife to go window shopping, the wife has taken up many courses, she is a qualified make up artist and aerobic instructor. Good that he is chin-chai type and did not hear any complain from him. I can only wish him all the best.

Actually, Shanghainese men are more family oriented and better temper compare to women.

After reading so many posts on your ONS experience, I would like to share mine...

I met most of the girls from the internet, such as AFF, Xpat, etc. The first one I met was not a native Shanghainese but living and working here for many years. She can speak the dialect fluently. She's in her early 30's and working as a store manager. After about 3 dates, I invited her over to my apartment and she spent the night over. After that, she spent most of her weekends over at my place. When we dated, although I offered to pay her share, she insisted to pay herself so basically I didn't spend much money on her. Even when I offered to buy her gifts, she'd refused and on special ocassions she accepted, she'd set a limit to how much I could spend on the gift. Eventually, I got sick of her constant smoking (despite her agreement to quit) and just stopped contacting her altogether.

I met another one who's a native Shanghainese. She's in her early 20's working as a coordinator in a boutique. She has a Taiwanese boyfriend who's often out of town. We met the first time on a Saturday night after her work at Nanjing Road. I asked her where she wanted to go and she replied anywhere so I jokingly suggested my apartment and she gamely agreed. So we reached my apartment and the fun began. So we continued having such non-committal relationship until she got sick of me finally and wanted to put her attention on her boyfriend. During our dates, she would offer to pay for my share although I always declined. She came from a well-to-do family and she's what I call an independent woman.

Next I met a Japanese married woman in her mid 30's who's getting sick of her husband and was looking for some cheap thrills. On our first date, I got her to deliver me a handjob. Subsequent dates yielded nothing until our recent dates when she gave me a blowjob (once under the stairway leading to the car park at Metro Town) and much more. I realised I'm not going to gain anything more so I just stopped contacting her. I paid for all the expenses in this relationship.

My experience proved to me that ONS really depends on luck. If you're lucky, you meet a girl who doesn't splurge your money and won't stick to you like superglue. On the other hand, you might encounter a blood-sucker that makes you wonder why you don't go to the HC like what the other brothers are doing instead.

Well I think Shanghai Papa got it right. Free goods can be achievable through patience, luck and charisma.
You can meet some "wild" girls here and have a lot of fun but you can put yourself in big trouble as well.

One word on Shanghainese men & women: in my experience here shanghainese men are quite weak compare to their northern counterparts. My most recent encounters are early this year, having to know one from the Xpat.com Classified Personal Ads & another one from Yahoo China.com Personal Ads.

The 1st one turned out to be quite a looker, well educated, speaks fluent engllish, sending sms msgs with only in english. Went out thrice with her, typical Shanghainese gal, always that 'You're the man, so you pay all' attitude. Was with her one Friday night out partying, both of us pretty intoxicated with alcohol....but somehow, someone keeps telling me "No man, you might have the chance to bonk her for tonight but you'll even regret it more after that with the hassle & mess you're gonna be it......." I actually didn't go beyond anything other than kissing & hugging her whole night eventually.

The 2nd one is the typical Shanghainese 'Gal Next Door' type. Tall, standing at a 1.74m, long hair, slim, looks easily 7.5/10. But there again, she's one that might be even more troublesome, sending me daily 'morning call' sms, checking on me what time I'm done work everyday, etc.....even when I was away in US recently! Sigh..... But the best part was that I only went her with twice and all I did to her b4 was giving her a peck on her lips when I sent her home that very night! Scary.................

With the above mentioned 2 situations, I personally feels that both can lead to what I want, getting each of them in bed but still I choose to gave lots of thoughts into on the subsequent consequences that will lead to...........

Tons of my friends all saying how lucky I am with all the pretty shanghai girls around me. I told them it is more of a curse than luck. And shanghai girls are not that pretty too, compared to some other cities like northeast and chongqing.

Shui Xiu Fang is also very good. I tried it. Movie stars go there too. The thing is they can get a lot more expensive if you start adding all the different services (decent). My bill came up to around 150rmb.
