Before Minah left, she helped me looked around for a replacement. The way she looked for this replacement was very different from what I had expected and the results proved to be very mixed. She had spammed her friends saying that a Director was looking for a female personal assistant. She also stated the job description and requirements as follows:
01. Assist in organizing all daily activities
02. Consolidate, organize and prepare materials
03. Be ready to provide a hand and support the CEO at a moment's notice
04. Be ready to travel at a moment's notice
05. Willing to work long hours and possible 6 to 7 day work week
06. Able to carry herself well in all corporate functions
07. Pleasant and patient personality
08. Aged 18 to 25
09. Ability to drive an asset
10. Salary 2K

It wasn't a very professional looking job search but the results were very interesting. There were 12 applicants that ranged from 18 to 25 and one 38year old auntie... threw that out straight away. I then threw out 6 as they were really ugly. the 5 that remained looked promising.

01. I arranged for an interview at my office and the first one in was a bit of a turn off. She was very pretty, tall, long hair... but too full of herself... A very smart woman with excellent qualifications... but... too many comments made by her that just put me off. A typical behaviour I've seen with many of our NUS grads... Bottom line is... PRIDE... Threw her CV away straight away when she left

02. Next one also very pretty... but very lian... looked totally different from the photo... Photo no coloured hair... this one got streaks of bright red... Keep asking a lot of questions like what will she be doing la... how often will go overseas la... really must work 7 days la.... transport covered or not la... go overseas spending got covered or not la.... how many days MC la.... on and on and on.... I put her CV one side first....

03. Next one came in and looked very sweet... like good good girl. Only draw back is that she is skinny and small. And I mean small in every area. She is only 1.52m and looks a little flat chested. I asked her how heavy is she and she went... huh... erm 40... 45... donno... never weigh... why you ask? I told her she looked very skinny and frail and may not be able to stand the job. She say, she can work very hard and is willing to do long hours as she believe that being a PA to a Director will give her a chance to learn things no other job can. She will be able to understand how a Director thinks and understand how to do business. Hmmmm... good statement. I reviewed her CV. Poly grad, now working and studying night classes. I asked her why she is studying basic accounting, something not related to her poly dip. She say accounting is a must have for any business. She hopes to have her own business one day. I asked her what she wanted to do, she told me her business plan and it was an interesting idea... I will not reveal it as it is her idea and her dream.

04. Next girl came in and was a real shocker. Sexy and utterly smashing. Very graceful with words and had a powerful X factor. Guess what... ex SQ girl... no wonder... they have training in being graceful. I was immediately smitten... perfect body... perfect face... better than in the photo she submitted. Immediately placed her as number one on the list.

05. I waited for half an hour... I called the girl. She say sorry, Just finished another interview, by the way, what are the promotional prospects? I told her what is there to promote, the job is already PA to the Director. She say in terms of pay... I told her increment will come based on performance. She asked me when will the review be and how much more will she likely get. I told her why not come down and talk this through. She said this other job offering 2.2K and 5 and a half day, will OT be compensated. I told her I have been waiting for half an hour for her. Why hot make it another day. She say but she already on her way. I say so what, she was late and I have another meeting. She say but it is not her fault, the other interviewer take too long. I hung up the phone and looked at her CV... Another very bright NUS grad...

Two days later, I called for a second interview. I started with Ah lian... Give her another chance... cannot make it la... I will not even want her on staff at some other position...

Next is Good Good girl. I really liked her attitude and she pass the second interview with flying colours... now the only problem is where to assign her... this type of staff cannot let go... must keep.

lastly is SQ... As she walked in my heart quickened... I made casual chit chat with her and we talked cock for about half hour. I asked her when can start work. She say immediately but September she will need a month off. I asked her how come? She say getting married and going on honeymoon... I felt my heart fracture... I asked her who is the lucky guy? Got photo? She say of course, and pulled out from her wallet a picture of herself with an extremely handsome dude... GAME OVER... I continued casual chit chat with her for another 10 minutes... savouring her presence and delicious aroma... Then bid her farewell and said, "We'll let you know"

Sigh... Boring already... I looked at the three CVs. I threw out Ah lian and SQ's. I could not hire someone who will make me so horny but yet I know will have no chance. I called Good Good (From now on called GG) and told her she is hired. She was very happy and I asked if she can start tomorrow. She say she is still working as temp staff but should be no problem if give her one or two days to quit. I agreed. She officially started work before CNY.

Bro, u dunno the pressure inside the company la... SQ girl after getting married cannot suka suka get pregnant without getting permission one...

yeah, i knw cos i used to work inside the cabin crew's rostering office... sometimes u wont believe that even some of them might come to me for help (as if i have the power, that decisive power lies in their sup) with regards to this matter... sheesh! its all about the money... flight allowance, unifrom allowance, grooming allowance, shift allowance and meal allowance... it all adds up at the end of the month...

1st day of work

1st order of business was to send her for health screening. I gave her my doctor to go to for blood test.

2nd order of business is to make sure everyone and herself understands her position. I called a meeting for my heads and informed them publicly that she has no authority over them and they have no authority over her. She is my personal assistant and nobody is to tell her to work for them. Likewise, she must address all members as being higher than her and respect their positions. She will not be subject to the normal working hours and therefore not required to report to work at fixed time. She is not to "buy food or coffee" for anybody but me. However, she is not to be refered to as a maid. She must not under any circumstances abuse her position. Any breach of this part will result in immediate termination. She is to be welcomed as a friend.

All the senior members have been with me for years, some know me since school days. They welcomed her cordially and she understood her position.

3rd order of business is to assign her stuff to do... 1st day on the job I made it easy. Gave her my car keys, cash and a list of things to buy and do. She left at 1 and came back before 4pm with my drycleaning, 2GB thumbdrive, canon printer inks and some groceries for my pffice pantry. All correct. I finished up and took her shopping.... Yes... Shopping... My PA needs a laptop if she is going to work effectively
