Before the party started, it nearly got derailed by some unforeseen funny & not so funny incidents but luckily, we manage to pull things through n had a good start

here's wat happened...

we supposed to meet at 8pm but my friend told his staff still working in office and havn't gone home yet. He told me to push back the time later, as usually on Friday nights, his staff will normally knock off on the dot but dunno why last night, so suay, they got work to finish.

for the 1st time...as a boss...he can't wait to ask his staff to pack up & leave the work behind.

so i quickly msg the couples to hold on and wait in their cars 1st at the carpark. Some are still on their way, so it's ok. Told them to wait for my cue 1st before we all proceed up to the office

then....a msg came from my friend, the boss...

the boss messaged me....Eh, how come there's a couple who is at the door. My staff ask who are they. They like abit puzzled and suspicious how come at this hour, got clients want to come, without appointment.

then there is this new couple, lets call them Couple C, whom i haven't meet before but we kept in touch via messaging, and i invited them to come. this Couple C, started asking me if we can start a group messaging chat, which i told him the other couples not comfortable to start a group chat and disclose their numbers, and since we are all meeting already, no need for a group chat on WhatsApp. But he still ask me again.

And after the boss text me about that unknown couple who went up to the office door, i quickly text everyone to hold their horses 1st, and has anyone went up yet?

Couple A told me he is with Couple B, and still on the way, but reaching. Couple C told me they reach awhile ago, and he started texting me where am i, and where are the couples.

so i told Couple C to please wait for awhile as the staff still at the office, and have not knock off yet. I then ask him if he went up just now. but he didn't answer that and ask me again where are the couples and wat time they coming.

and while we are all waiting for the boss to give us the 'All Clear' signal to go up, i have to assure Couple C tat everything is ok n under control n due to some delay. but from his message, i could feel he is getting abit impatient and he said he waited very long with his gf.

then i explained to him the situation that it could have been earlier, if not, for 1 unknown couple who went up without informing us, and alerted the staff, like the idiom 打草驚蛇, now the staff are murmuring among themselves, if their boss are expecting any guests or clients.

And the boss in a difficult situation and cant just ask them to pack up & leave the office just like that. So some delay is to be expected.


at about 9:30pm, finally received the go ahead from the boss & i went up to meet the boss, who is my good friend.

Couple C came up too, and started asking where are the couples. i told him they are reaching in 10 to 20 min & ask him & his gf to wait 1st, and we can chit chat.

but he seems restless & ask wat time they really coming. I told him they are on the way, and just wait awhile & we can make rest & relax at the office sofa with the boss.

but he seems adamant to want to see the couples 1st, and say he will go eat dinner 1st with his gf, then come back. Then i told him ok. In my mind, i was thinking, i tot we all agree to eat our own dinner 1st then meet?

then shortly after Couple C left to eat dinner, Couple A & B arrives, and we had a good chat & intro to the boss, and we start the party and play cards & pool at the pantry.

then Couple C message came in, say they finish dinner and has the couples arrived yet. I told him yes, they just arrived. And he seems unhappy, saying so these 2 couples are late, and make him and his gf wait very long.

And i try to explain the situation that there are some delays because the staff left the office late, and things get pushed back alittle. And it started to make me feel abit disappointed & unhappy as it starts to feel pushy & impatient from this Couple C.

And the other couples could also feel there is abit of tense situation there while i have to explain the situation & apologize to this Couple C.

in the end, i just feel my own mood is abit dampened by this Couple C, and i cant swing with full enthusiasm, and Couple C ask how many couples there, and he is driving back to join.

And that is where i msg him that, i think it is better tat we leave it as it is, for the party to continue without him & his gf, as it will feel weird swinging naked without our clothes with him & his gf around, after this unhappy message exchange with him.
