S'pore man wanted in Johor for 13 incidents of dangerous driving

A Singaporean man has angered Malaysians for his multiple incidences of dangerous driving and his arrogance.

A posting of an account where where he caused a collision involving four cars has gone viral not just for his reckless driving but for his arrogance when confronted.

According to a post on Facebook page Video Viral, the driver of SKN8285M was seen changing lanes suddenly without indicating and causing the 4 vehicles behind him to slam on their breaks resulting in an accident at the Kempas Toll Plaza.

After the incident, he just drove off but was chased down by someone at the scene.

He reportedly told the person in Malay: "If you want to report to the police, report lah. The Johor Police are my friends. What can you do? There's no evidence. You think I don't know the law?"

The Johor Police have responded to the incident on their official Facebook page.

They said that they are investigating the said driver for dangerous driving and endangering the safety of citizens.

They also informed the public that after checking their system, the Singaporean man has received 13 tickets that have not been cleared.

Of the 13 tickets issued, 12 are for speeding and one is for driving on the road shoulder or emergency lane.

The police also clarified that they are in no way connected to the man and would not be compromised with anyone who commits traffic violations.

They are appealing for people involved in the accident to come forward and for anyone who has more information to call their hotline: 07-2212999 or reach out to them on their Facebook page.

As for mrt breakdown every time there is a major breakdown the LTA will find time jia lat jia lat . But did mrt learn from their lesson ? No . Like that how to claim from Khaw and desmond ??? They did not even have a complain department to handle the complain issues .

Whether the garment will wake up or not that is a million dollar question . You think they do not know what is happening on the ground ?

Next time go take mrt, go look closely. Even stopping in the middle without announcement for 5 mins, we are entitle to press the button.

Doesn't this already tell you there is something really wrong with the mrt sytem in singapore ?

Don't you know that even stopping the train in the middle of the tunnel is very dangerous especially during peak hour . Really the MRT system in Singkieland is SIBEHJIALAT .

SINGAPORE — A total of 183 food poisoning cases could now be linked to the consumption of the durian pastries from Goodwood Park Hotel, up from the 76 cases originally reported in April.

After the news about the spate of food poisoning broke on April 22, more people have stepped forward to say that they too could have been affected by eating the durian pastries, said a joint statement from the National Environment Agency (NEA), Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) issued on Thursday (May 5).

In April, it was revealed that 76 cases of food poisoning were linked to the hotel’s bakery, which was found to have lapses in its food handling processes. It was required by the NEA to cease the production, sale and distribution of all pastries that have been prepared by the bakery. All pastries that have been prepared would have to be disposed of. The bakery was also told to stop operating.

According to the latest statement, investigations are still on ongoing, and the suspension of the Goodwood Park Hotel bakery will continue to be in force until the lapses that might have contributed to the outbreak have been rectified.

The NEA and MOH are concurrently working with the hotel to ensure the kitchen is thoroughly cleaned, and all food handlers undergo medical screening and are re-trained on safe food handling practices.

SINGAPORE: A 52-year-old man caught drinking in public during prohibited hours is the first person to be charged under the Liquor Control Act, which came into force on Apr 1 last year.

Tan Gak Hin pleaded guilty to the charge on Thursday (May 5), and was ordered to pay a fine of S$1,000.

Under the new Act, the prohibited hours are between 10.30pm and 7am, although alcohol can still be consumed within licensed premises such as restaurants, coffee shops or bars, in accordance with the hours stipulated in their licences.

The court heard Tan was caught drinking with friends in the early hours of Feb 23 at Bishan Street 24. A member of the public had called the police at about 2.25am to complain about “someone shouting around the vicinity for the past half an hour”.

A police officer found Tan with four men drinking beer and reeking of alcohol. The officer told the men to dispose of the beer and informed them they had breached the new liquor law.

Tan told the court he had been on his way home when he bumped into his friends and decided to join them for a drink. He had been frustrated with his family and was facing financial problems, he told the court, pleading for a lenient sentence. “I did not mean to break the law," he added.

Under the Liquor Control (Supply and Consumption) Act, the maximum fine for a first offender is S$1,000. Repeat offenders face up to three months in jail, a fine of up to S$2,000, or both.
