Re: Batam Info Thread

hi bros here. was thinking is there any nice hotels in the range of $40-$50 with a number safe in the room? so after i shagged out from bonking my girl i can sleep in peace without fearing she may nibble away a few notes from my wallet?

Depend on where you go. If you want fun places, there are many, if you have the contacts.

Difference is the price.

Sg nite life
- expensive; short time $200 LT $300 onwards (earliest book out time is 1am)
- drinks are expensive; service attitude is below average unless you are regular patron or you are a big spender
- WL leave as early as 7am
- face constant spot checks by Anti-Vice

Btm nite life
- inexpensive; you can select depends on your own budget - short time S$30 onwards, LT S$50 and up (felix timing to book out)
- KTV room charge / drinks are reasonably priced or almost cheap. As a foreigner, the waiting staffs generally give good service largely becos of your big tips
- most fish tank WLs would leave at 9 or 10am
- spot checks are relatively lesser

Not sure or heard of Spa has a swimming pool unless in hotel...maybe try Novotel hotel...there is spa and also swimming pool...but spa at basement and swimming pool at 1st floor...

Yes, up to this moment should be....good food street in the mall and has varieties of food to choose..

3nd stop, Makan seafood - cause i have muslim staff, are there any halal or no pork no lard makan seafood? actually im think of the makan place next to habour bay ferry terminal cause we will go back to sg straight after makan. is there halal? or min no pork no lard? or are there any other place not too far away to recomend?
Most of the food stall at food courts are visited or cater food for even muslim....most don't have pork even chinese stall (they have wild boar meat though)....the one facing the sea and near a BBQ boat is quite good (not quite remember the stall no....638 or 368)......try the vietnamese deep fried chicken...

cheers

I like to add something to the makan part...

Nagoya Hills or Lunch, there are many food stalls there, but most are very ordinary food, except for the Fisherman restaurant with Halal Chinese food, including Tim Sum. But I would strongly suggest that you guys go for the real Indonesian food, Nasi Padang? Good place for Nasi Padang would be Putri Bungsu with 2 branches, 1 beside Puri Garden Hotel, the other at Batam Center in those shop houses next to Palm Spring housing complex.

Sea Food Dinner, for proper seafood, go to places like Batu Besar (45mins drive away from town) if you have the time, if not then Golden Prawn at Benkong (20-30 mins from Harbor Bay).

Most if not all Taxi or Bus drivers will know all these makan places, but if you must rush back to Sg then those stalls in Harbor Bay as bro BintangBeer suggested are also good.

Thanks BtmMan for your advise

actually i prefer those stall at the Habour Bay ferry terminal, next to it along the sea (if we are talking abt the same place) cause more easy for us to go back sg. most important, is it halal or no pork no lard cause i have muslim staff. thanks
