About the benefits, most of them are not interesting for me.

Room rates: I get a better rate anyway.

Free shuttle to HB: I admit I am lazy here. I think one has to book it in ADVANCE and on the web site, right? I never remember to do it, so I pay the standard 50k to the Formosa taxi when I rush to HB at the last minute of the last day.

Late check-out: this would be the best benefit for me, but I am used to check-out at 4pm, so for ONE HOUR after the 3pm they ask me to pay half day. I will try to look angry for that.

Free laundry: that may be interesting, but usually I do not need it, as I size my supply before leaving home.

Special discount at King's etc. Who cares? This is totally negligible, as the fee for any special service is much higher than the standard fees to pay to management. If one wants to pay less for massage ++, he better walks to Utama area, rather than showing the Gold Card to the massage lady while naked on the bed of his room in Formosa, begging for a HJ or BJ or FS with 20% discount.

FREE NIGHTS. That's the most interesting benefit of course. And I took advantage already.

Yes, you ought to be proud. Next year 2020, i possibly shift myself to Formosa Residence,hehehe...its key collection year (heard its gonna be like a hotel too).

I am Gold member at Marriott/SPG, but I would never book Marriott in Batam. Batam is Batam, and without Formosa for me Batam is not Batam.

Tipping depends on yrself. But i usually tip 200k max as all of these girls are better in service quality as compare to those in Utama side. After going there, i no longer hang around utama.

It's not expensive on btm term, service quality abv average comparing to most other btm shops, & more importantly, it's convenient. So why not?

Like ice may hv told u, i pay 2 girls for the usual price of one for a night until i check out of hotel next day noon. A few times, they tag along to see me off departure queue too.

ANY night entertainment is closed for the first 3, the midle 3, the last 3 days of Ramadan month. In other days, open as usual BUT close earlier than usual.
Come for seafood, not for the night scene. Girls? If you are aquainted with the place, ok.

Hmm...so how much do you pay for your weekly batam trips? As in per trip expense...wouldnt it be better to rent a room there instead for your case?

Sometime its those REALLY "little tiny things" that the girls who went the extra miles to do, that keeps people going back to them again and again and again and again...hehehe...you and i know those kind/type of actions arent real, but at least the initiative for their action were sincere (which any experience human being who live long enough can tell),hehehe...good enough,i guess.

Can one find that in other part of the world? Maybe yes...but at what kind of price? And i see that in Batam almost all the time (among my friends's sharing).

These shop/s with such girls got their basic right, they will last and wont be afraid of the lack of customers (just like the indo Chinese group). They probably might have one fear when it comes to customer service tho...too many customers.

As I thought also initially, and as I wrote before, these benefits are for most part pure crap. It's funny to have a Gold Membership card at a hotel in Batam, but their practical relevance is negligible, with the exception of the free night once in a while.

On checkout, I tried to get a free transfer to Harbour Bay.
The table promises "4 times/year" for Silver and "8 times/year" for Gold.
Response by Mr. Ricky: "NO, you must book it online at least two days before and specify date and time for booking. If not booked onlilne, the price is 50k, as stated in this table of taxi fares."

I also tried to get the complimentary late check-out. I was checking-out at 3:30pm.
The table promises "Extend to 3pm" for for Silver and Gold.
Response by Mr. Ricky: "NO, Complimentary late check-out is until 2pm".
I rebutted about this table, which I had on my computer since long time ago (I think I downloaded from their web site? I can't remember) and he said there is no table promising until 3pm, only until 2pm. So, when I emailed him the table, his response was "This table is OLD, now expired. We have a new one".

Now, I do not doubt that he may be right about the detailed rules, but I think that this management still has to do a long path on the way of good "customer care". If they not give such a small benefit to someone who has spent more than 100 nights in the last 10 years already, how would they treat someone who just steps in for one weekend?
For a hotel, loyal guests are the best asset. Pure gold. They must be pampered, not just welcomed.
