Hi all, if I want to learn tieng viet, where are the recommended places to go to besides long-hair con gai?

this learning tieng viet had been discussed many times here...you just need to search and get the answer...

the answer is simple...no point to attend class and then you dun speak often...so the best way to learn is to keep chatting with VB...a fren of mine can be on his own within 2 months...so slow learner may be 3 months...

key is to chat with many Vbs and not only 1 VB...

Bro jackbl had posted many videos on self learning...useful if you can remember...I had a simple way to learn tieng viet...and so far many of them had progressed...currently translating for half a dozen frens...

Thanks for the tip, H88. I'll dig up the old threads. I actually like to study the language besides learning how to speak. About the VB (viet gals?) part, I assume one got to go to JC or similar places to hook up with WLs to practise as it's not so easy to find people to talk to?

I think study is not too bad lah. As long as got interest and feel happy, it will still be worth it.

you the grandmaster of tieng viet roi...when I just started in 2007 your tieng viet already very pro roi...

my way of learning tieng viet which I shared with my frens...simple way remember 10 words per day...10 days 100 words...1 year 3,650 words...remember must know how to write it and say it...

reason why we learned...to speak to the VBs who you are keen...so enough motivation...

where to learn...here in this thread from page one...using chat online with VB using facebook, wechat, viber, whatsapp, yahoo messenger...^^

where to speak to VB...JC, GL, and virtually almost everywhere now if you knew where they are...or fly to Vietnam...hehe...

HIV/AIDS rates still too high in Viet Nam

VietNamNet Bridge – In the first nine months of this year, an average of 34 people contracted HIV each day, according to recent statistics from the Ministry of Health.

In an update on the virus' spread in Viet Nam, the Ministry said that as of October this year, there were over 200,000 people living with HIV/AIDS, of which more than 65,000 had developed AIDS. Around 66,000 people died from HIV/AIDS in the same period.

Bui Hoang Duc, from the ministry's Department for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control, said that although the pandemic had declined in recent years, the numbers were still relatively high.

The ratio of women with HIV has increased during the past years, with the number of sexually transmitted HIV infections outnumbering those via blood-to-blood contact.

According to the ministry, the proportion of people over 30 and living with HIV was also on the rise.

However, Duc said the ministry was especially concerned about a large number of people with HIV being unaware of their condition; posing a huge threat to the community and threatening a rise in infection rates.

An increasing number of cases had been discovered in drug addicts' partners, he added.

Discrimination against HIV/AIDS patients is still rife throughout Viet Nam, even providing obstacles for patients seeking treatment.

The 2013 National Action Month for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control, launched on November 10, will focus on reducing the risk of infection by organising conferences and seminars to raise awareness. The occasion will also urge HIV/AIDS patients to access health care services and promote co-operation with border patrol soldiers to increase awareness on HIV/AIDS in remote areas.
