Jux came back from Shanghai holiday..I encountered both pleasant & unpleasant incident during my trip...

Pleasant Incident - I enjoyed the massage and the spa which the thread provided. I oso found some massage centers at the Nanjing Dong Lu & Hankou Lu areas. The ladies are nice and giving you good experience you might not get in s'pore...Rate from RMB68 for foot massage & RMB88 for body massage...other to nego...

Unpleasant Incident - While I was walking at the Nanjing Dong Lu, few girls approached me to ask for time/ direction/ etc...I do not know why these girls not asking the expo volunteers or the police officers patrolling at the area...Later, happen 2 sweet girls (23yrs & 26yrs) approached me to ask for time & direction to bookshop...I replied to them "now is 6.40pm and I do not know where is the nearby bookshop" " I not local, I here for holiday"...They were surprised and asked mi where I from and to want to friend with mi..I tried to shoot them off but to no success. Later, we went to a coffee cafe for a drink. After 1.5hrs of chat, when settled bills, I was shocked, its bill to almost RMB 3,000 for few cups of wine, coffee, tea and snacks..

This is an age old trick, as old as the Nigerian scam.

But consider yourself lucky as you're only relieved of RMB3k. I guess it is the mixture of coffee and snacks that cushioned the price. Some get conned of RMB10k and above, just by drinking tea.

Even if you report to the police, with proper tax invoice, it will be very difficult to handle the case if you were drinking tea because tea can be damn expensive, and you probably can't tell the difference if you're drinking piss anyway.

Although I don't wish you have a next time, but for anybody who encounter such incidence in the future, one way is to dictate which place to go instead of the gal bringing you to the joint they so choose. Even if you go to a 5 star Shangri-la coffee lounge, at most a jug of Blue Mountain brew will cost you RMB 200?

Sometime, I wonder why people fall to this sort of scam.. there was another guy in another thread also kena con in KTV from a pimp that approach him in the bund by offering cheap gals... haiz.. when they realize that there is no free lunch. I had posted that the most safe way is to cheong in your own hotel KTV or Sauna. If that is no an option, then get recommendation from concierge or front desk.

RMB198 for a 1.5 hrs of Bath Tub service, back massage with a HJ (autoroam to top-up another RMB100) and 1.5 hrs of Foot Massage with a back rub. 3 hours for RMB198 (excluing auto roaming but including a HJ). I find it value for money.

Will be back to Shanghai after National Day holidays for more treatment
