I do not know whether this is related to the price of KTV in CP or China as a whole.. I was drinking in Classic KTV few months ago in SG and found out that the sitting fees has went up to S$350 now...
In relative terms, the 3, 7, 10 in CP would still consider a bargain then....

let's take a common date ... 7th Jan 2014 to 13th Jan 2014 ..
(SG to HK)
CX S$553.70 + Transport to CP 900rmb (Pte chartered) = $733.70
SQ S$633.70 + Transport to CP 900rmb (Pte chartered) = $813.70
Total time spend on transport HKIA-CP at least 2 hrs
(SG to SZ)
SQ S$543.20 + Transport to CP 250rmb (Pte chartered) = $593.20
Total time spend on transport SZ - CP 1 hrs
(SG to GZ)
SQ S$773.20 + Transport to CP 300rmb (Pte chartered) = $833.20
otal time spend on transport GZ - CP 1.5hrs .
The journey time traveling to HKIA from CP is unknown as one have to go through 2 immigration border and in bad situation, the delay can cause u to miss ur flight ....
Changan KTV hostess service is generally better than Changping ones.
That's why you prefer going to Changan I guess.
Oh I am not a CP lover, only set foot there as a stop over to other towns, probably I prefer not to rush for ktv; CA ktv starts only from 7-730pm unlike CP @ 530pm, whereby it deprived u of a nice spa/massage session in afternoon & also a decent dinner. Further, I love CA good hotels, cheap & gd, value for money.
As for hostess service, u r correct, CA ktv generally better than CP, but alas as compared to just a mere 2 years back, service has also dropped drastically, but CP is worse, gone were those days, sigh....
Anyway, majority r spoiled by the convenience that CP can offer, the close promixity of facilities; & the better looks & quantity of hostess, hence, majority will still stay with CP despite all their complaints

If HKIA is the only option and not be able to get the MPV service, then the train would be the best option. If you are on the budget, you could get the airport train express and take connecting MRT to Hong Hum station.. if not, then take a taxi to Hong Hum if you have 3 persons with you.

Guys...last trip i found out that there is a free shuttle mini bus from kowloon station to hong hum station..just show yr airport express tix & the ride is free..just ask the info counter where the mini bus park...it's at 1 corner of the building..

All this time spend excluding clearing of custom .
After trying so many trip via HK , SZ and GZ I will still prefer to travel via SZ now.
I think GZ or SZ is the best. but GZ ticket for budget air tends to be cheaper. if u r talking about non budget, then fly to SZ best!

I don't like to fly from HKIA because u need cross customs and its farther. GZ might be better if cheaper air ticket is concerned. both jetstar n tiger fly to GZ. compared to only tiger that flies to SZ for budget carrier. how I wish more budget air fly to SZ!

I still let the horns out once in a blue moon. If that happen is a quick solo trip to CP for convenient sake. My old flames are still there, so no complaint on service.
Any Bro traveling up to CP on 15th Nov from Shenzhen airport. I am alone and anyone would like to share my transport to CP. MPV cost 300RMB and we split according to number of takers. I would prefer maximum 4 person so that we could have a comfortable ride.
