Hi ,

Just to ask as i am marrying my GF from PRC this coming july as i was thinking about getting her LTVP if she were to be able to find work in SG and apply for a Work Permit does that means that her chances of getting a PR is lesser ?

It depends cos also base on your own merit whether u can support her or not in term of your financial status

His PRC gf must go and apply via tour agency company not him. In singapore it takes about 5 days.

Usually malaysia visa is single trip.
Ask him to fly to KL instead of any other transport mode. Easier to cross custom. Of course, return ticket must be confirmed.
Please ensure the singapore visa approved is multiple trip as well.

Singapore goverment want to create more babies. At the same time, the husband must be financially sound to support the family.
Unless she is a professional else "FAT HOPE" in getting a work permit initially.

Another crazy move for you as well. If you are not financially sound, why bother to start of a family. To create more family problem to the society izzit?
Many cases of family problem often is caused by "$$$$$$$".

If she wants to get PR, it all depends on the husband or herself.
I knows of a guy being an hawker and another taxi driver marrying foreigner. After more than a decade, PR still rejected.

ok thanks for your answer as for me just a normal engineer not very financially sound but should be ok. As for her she works in a service line currently not very highly educated.

As for ur ans on "Crazy Move" does that means that ppl who don't earn more then 2K in SG don't get marry ? I don't agree on your point on that not everyone is lazy and not willing to work to create PROBLEM to the society. I know people who work as hawker who dun earn a lot but are very hard working people do all these people dun even have the right on even starting a family ?

Yr pts r valid. But realistically that doesnt apply to sponsor/foreigner application much. Of cos both of u can get legally married here, but first of all u muz be fanancially sound w/o getting yr foreigner wife to join the work force to attain SPR status.

Ask yrself this... How many local production leadmen have no problem in getting their foreigner wives SPRs? Taxi drivers? Hawkers? Drivers? Hardworking so what? This is very clear from germent POV if u read the immigration news these few yrs.

U can get married to any foreigners u fancy, no one stop you or even forbid u fr doing it. But getting yr spouse permanent staying rights is two different things and you must get yrself clear abt this.

Fr yr post, yr gerfrd seems to have worked here b4. Since u r an engineer, try working yr way up... u have a more better chance helping yr future wife getting a SPR status rather than making her work and complicated things altogether.

Hi Schenker,
my girl friend has never work in SG before. As for the other part I am just a normal engineer earning ard 3 - 4 K per month the reasons of me thinking for her to work is that so that she dun bore herself when coming over and also i understand that the government sometime reject people SPR application due to the fact that they have not stay in SG for more then 2 years. So unless we have a dragon baby which we did not plan to there is nothing for her to do other than her waiting for me to come back home from work. Another option i have is to send her to go for some upgrading course in SG which is one of the venue i am also exploring.

Correct me if I am wrong.

If she has not worked in SG B4, please continue to do so and bear a few more yrs at least till she attain SPR. Yr annual salary is not low, base on yr merit try a few more times shld get it.

She can always enhance and upgrade herself by taking up some english course, cooking, beauty or IT courses to get herself going. She may consider to get involved in community services. You may also "sacrifice" yrself taking taking up these activities 2gether. Buddy system mah.

U shld not ignore the "baby issue". We have a shortage problem leh. Can also solve her boredom problems.
