My take.... from my limited experience

For the budget-conscious punter, to get the best bang for your bucks, its always good to adopt the HORSES-FOR-COURSES rule. Thus

1. If you want massages, go to the PZL girls
2. If you want singing and partying, go to the ktv girls (If you want sex you can use them too but you run the risk of lousy sex)
3. If you want complete and sheer sex, go to sauna girls
4. If you want quickies and cheap sex, go to bbs
5. If you want hair wash, cut and light head massage, go to hairdressers

The trouble begins when one, for reasons of the challenge, or the ego (we are ALL not without), or pure recklessness, or an excess of funds

1. Brings the PZL girl to ktv to sing/party, by buying her hours (which to me is khum lan knia, and I have been guilty as hell)
2. Brings the ktv girl to PZL for massage, hoping to elicit some romance
3. Brings the sauna girl to dinner/massage/PZL as the case maybe
4. And even brings the bbs girl to shopping

That's when your budget gets thrown out of whack. Not to mention that all those 'poor' working girls, ala prostitutes in ktv, sauna, bbs or whatever guise, are laughing behind your back at how big a carrot you are.

Yes dont even think for a moment that they appreciate and are moved by your kind-heartedness. As SEAJ wrote, these p4p maestros play the game everyday and will beat you, however street cred you think you are, hands down.

Having said all the above, on a personal level, I will confessed I have been guilty of all of the above despite prior advice from seasoned cheongsters. I learnt, and am still learning.........

You will find when you go over 3 hrs, the jishi will have lunch, piss and shit, and steal an update on their handphone messages, on your time. Many will take advantage of your generosity of adding hours for massage. Of course if you are already pally pally with them, and/or dont mind their pissing and shitting on your time, that's your business. You may be using that as a tactic to hook them, by trying to show them how magnanimous ie dafang, you are.

When one 'an pei' and they start clambering and pressing all over your back, its very easy, in the darkened, quiet and cosy room, to be deluded into thinking its a gf/bf thingy. One has to constantly kick oneself to remind onself hey this is a jishi/client thingy, nothing more. She's doing it because she has to do it, not because she wants to do it. To her, its work, not passion. So wake up, old fart hahaha.

On a personal note, yes, I almost always never go over 3 hours per session. I stay friendly but do not engage, and do not encourage the jishi to engage, in endless chatter. That way, she can concentrate on her work, and I can concentrate on getting a good massage.

A favourite past-time is on Sat nights, if Man Utd is playing, instead of joining the madding crowd at the ktvs, I will head to PZL. Rooms and jishis are more readily available on Sat nights. Oh of course there ARE girls who are in CP just innocently doing their job but IMHO, there is just way more girls who, although NOT wanting to work in jobs obviously associated with the sex industry, nonetheless still want to take advantage of their youth, beauty and sex-saleability.

First of all it has a lot to do with their own feelings of self-worth – that they just cannot accept working outright as a hooker, that even if they do end up selling their body, that they still are NOT a hooker. And the unfortunate fact of the matter is that Chinese families do make such unreasonable demands of their off-springs that too many of these girls don’t really have much choice but to sell their body. Ahhh….filial piety…..and how Chinese societies value their sons way more than their daughters. Terrible injustice!!

Many of these girls working at regular jobs are moonlighting kept girls – supplanting their income from their masters or are girls who had been cut lose by their previous keepers; and they know that their chances of being kept again by another are as good working at a regular job than it is if they work as a hooker. They know that guys find supposedly “regular working girls” as being more acceptable to become their girlfriend.

And there ARE many girls who just cannot stand being an outright hooker – the isolatory existence, the loneliness, the wear and tear on their bodies, the indignities they have to go through….and just opt out of the trade….whilst the monetary demands from their own situation/families still necessitating them to sell their bodies. And thus they just work at these regular jobs whilst still on the look-out for “opportunities.”

Allow me to highlight the game that KTV DJ’s play to illustrate how such girls operate. A DJ really cannot be considered as working as a hooker as they are not supposed to go out with clients –thus a supposedly just a regular job. A lot of smart girls work as a DJ as they know that they are never forced to have to go out with a client and can maintain a veneer of respectability to others as well as to themselves. On the other hand, they are right there with a room full of testosterone charged males all there to ravage ladies – and she has a room full of prospects to pick and choose from. Next time you got to a KTV, notice how your DJ would gravitate to guys who seems to be “good prospects” – either better looking guys or more commonly, guys who has “financial attractions” to them i.e. rich and free spending guys.

Your DJ would zero in on her quarry, play coy and catty with him and sometime during the course of the night, will establish WeChat/QQ/Telephone number contacts….for her to follow up on – whether that same night or another day.

Hate to point this out - but at least once I'd like to point out that such thoughts and actions - by too many mongers - has contributed to the price spiral in Chang Ping - accompanied by a corresponding worsening of attitude.

Yes I realize that one goes to Chang Ping to unwind, to treat oneself, to live the life and one really do not want to crimp their enjoyment by quibbling about small money. But this makes these Chang Ping suckers all think that they are actually under- pricing themselves/ deserve more etc.

Worse, IMHO and from the multiple times I've heard these girls talk about their clients, they don't really appreciate the kindness that we show them;That they'd consider guys who's over generous as suckers and who doesn't know how to monger. No, nothing to gain from being considerate to them. It's all a game to them.

Plus please also think about how your actions will affect the rest of us in the long run - or even yourself on your return trip.
