Why should the wedding ring be worn on the fourth finger?

There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by the Chinese.....

Thumb represents your Parents
Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings
Middle finger represents your-Self
Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner
& the Last (Little) finger represents your children

Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together - back to back
Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb - tip to tip
(As shown in the figure above)

Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents)..., they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later.
Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings)...., they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives.

Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children)...., they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day.

Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse).
You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT....., because Husband & Wife have to remain together all their lives - through thick and thin!!

i feel you did loved the one you married but the problem lies on us.love is just like antique collecting and we are the collectors while the women are the antiques.b4 you got it,you will crave for it and keep thinking of it but once you got it and you confirmed it is totally yours then your feel toward your wife will not be that strong anymore then when you meet other woman and you thought you love her most.

as i believe throughout my lifetime til now still same,there is no true love forever.whenever we met some1,the first impression is good and then we will try to know them better,after knowing them better we tense to feel for them and fall in them later on,agree?

especially for married man like us,we cheong and the woman we meet out there can be as crazy as they can and we will enjoy their company but as for our wife,we will not bring them out to cheong(even cheong also not that crazy or maybe husband and wife know each other too well).so the woman we meet can give us the kind of feel back to our younger days(that why mislead us of thinking why dont i meet this woman earlier than my present wife?) try think this way,maybe you marry the woman first then met your present wife the same scenario will be the same

there are lots of women with different character out there and as we keep grow and at different stage we look for different women then we will think wrongly that "the one i marry,is not the one i loved most"

sometimes, life really is just a whole reel of irony, 1 leading to another.
we came as individuals, and will eventually perish as individuals.

sometimes, we place alot of emphasis on matters that arent tangible. sometimes, we place alot of emphasis on finite matters that can never outlast time.

given the most blissful of unions between a man & woman, who're inseperable in their daily lives, there will come a day that their legs will lay straight. whether or not he/she is the 1 i/we love most, it was a choice made, when the couple decides to take that leap of faith, when they exchanged marriage vows, exchange wedding bands.

when expectations of reciprocation fall into the equation, benchmarks & cheese moving comes to play, with that comes pressure instead of pleasure. perhaps, it'd be better to just love unconditionally.... maybe then, the world would become a better place, life then becomes a little more pleasent??
