The next morning I drove to a car wash kiosk off mei ling street.

Me " the usual .... water , no soap, soap only on rims . No wiping after ta"

The guys nod his head , understanding what I wanted.

I drove the car out of the bay.

A foreign Chinese looking lady came to my car. I have seen her a few times before . I wind down the window.

Me " NI HAO ? .... In my Broken slang mandarin.

MILF car washing lady " HAO HAO.... you change car again " ....speaking in very fast pace mandarin.

I just nod my head in return as my mandarin speaking is really hopeless.

I took out ten dollars to,pass to her. She knew I don required the car to be wipe dry.

She wanted to pass me my change back.

I sign language back to her using my hand to bring a " imaginary " drink to my mouth... And said " KOPI"

She understood that the change is a small tip for her to buy coffee.

The lady look around . Put her hand in the waist pouch and pull out a free car wash coupon.

I took it and place in my centre console. I wake to say thank you as the Q behind is staring to form up.

Drove e car back out and went to Alexandra village for some Prata.

I arrived and park the car . I took e car wash coupon to have a closer look.

Me " silly woman .... This coupon has expired "

I flip to the back side of it and notice a HP number and two Chinese word character .

It must be her name and HP number .... Talking to myself.

I recorded in down in my HP and dispose the coupon away. Stay out, took a clean cloth and start to wipe the car .

Walk over to have my breakfast after I am done.

Lim “ no need , I need you to go to the wedding studio to pick up the bridal couple for their photo shoot. U got car a not “

I sped back home to shower and get change.

SMS came in “report to 888 Tangong Pangar Road . zzz bridal studio at 1pm”


I flashed my headlight and the uncle remove the pylon to let me park direct outside the wedding studio shop. The bride came out in her gown. I assisted to open the door while the helpers assisted her gown. She took her time to enter the car so as not to damage the gown. The groom went over and sat directly my back.

Bride “ Thank you for coming down to assist , the make up artist is coming out soon. Pls wait for a while“

Me ‘sure”

Lady Make up artist came out and sat in the front seat.

Groom : “lets head to MBS the open car park area before we head to Sentosa”

Me “ yes sir” …. Knowing well they wanted to take some shots near the MBS boardwalk area.

We arrived shortly in less than 10 minutes. The photographer was ahead of us and was already ready with the equipments. The make up artist came out and do the final touch up. She open the door and did the make up while the bride is still sitting in the car. I increase the air con fan speed.

Once done the bridal couple alighted. The camera man signaled them to follow them further down the boardwalk area. I parked the car and off the engine.

I noticed the makeup artist walking back to my car.

“hmm must have drop something in the car” … I said.

She open the door and sat in the front seat.

She spoke

“don’t even want to acknowledge me” …. She said

Me ‘Sorry do I know you? “

She stared straight into my eyes…

“UNCLE “ … she shouted

That voice ….hmmm….. My memory started to jog…

“YOUR HEAD LAH” remember now a not …. KNS !!!”

Oh….. is you ? …. Ah Lian 1….. I said softly.

Me " ok u go out to show face to e couple. Do some light powder for the bride. Don't say nvr teach u. I see all of them standard practice . U also go do. "

A Lian " orh ... ". She step out the car with the make up kit.

Dark clouds started to form in a matter of minutes.

I came out of the car and took out e umbrellas from the trunk to standby.

The couple managed to return to the car as the light drizzle started to fall.

Me " sir and ms.... Looks like the weather may not ideal for your sunset shots at sentosa after all. Would you like to discuss with the camera man on alternative arrangements,

The groom took out his phone and call the camera man to discuss. He switch on to speaker mode.

I kept silent while they were discussing.

Groom " ok no choice we cancel and arrange another date for sentosa shoot. "

Camera man " ok then bye ..... "

Groom " bye"

Camera man " wait wait don hang out first..... Hey LILI you want to follow me back a not I on route to punggol I drop u at serangoon MRT ?

Ah Lian replied " is alright , I heading bk to office with e driver . I need to pass him his job invoice for this assignment "

The line went dead

We reached the studio.

Bride " mr Driver , the weather isn't too good and this isn't the best time to catch a cab. We got a lot of stuff to bring back to the hotel at ritz Carlton. Is it possible for you to sent us back to the hotel . We pay you the standard LIMO rate.

Me " would fifty dollars be ok for you Ms. ..... Directing back the question to her.

Bride " that is fine with us. Pls wait for us"

Me " yes ms .

They all alighted and head back inside.

After 30 minutes , they came out. Ah Lian assist them with their stuff and loaded it back of the car.

Groom " mr driver , the makeup artist has offer to help us all the way back to the hotel , I hope you don't mind"

Me " not at all "

I gave ah Lian 1 eye contact. She looked back and wink her eye at me.

The car pull up at the hotel drive way.

The bellboy immediately push the trolley over as we started to unload e stuff.

Groom " there u go for your services render. " ...he passed me a red packet.

Bride " we are very happy with your service , do u have a name card for us "

Me " so sorry , this isn't my regular car. My name cards are placed in the other car. But not to worry LILI has my number . She can SMS to you later. U guys have a good rest first. We can follow up on this matter later"

I had to come out with an excuse fast.

Ah Lian 1 " ok thank very much, have a good rest. "

We both hop in and drove off
