my SIL never has any design on my money.but she has a bad habit which i really DISLIKE... whenever she come to HCMC and stay in my house, she will 'ransacked' my wife's wardrobe searching for new clothes.she will ask for permission if the cloths she fancy looks expensive, but if for clothes which are less then 300k vnd,she will just 'borrow' it and bring it back to the province.me and my wife has been arguing abt this issue for years, but my wife will always say that... "last time i also borrow sis clothes to wear,so now let her borrow lor". and i will always say that..... "last time both of u stay together, sharing clothes is very common.but now,1 is in HCMC and 1 is in Vinh Long,so like that also called 'share' or 'borrow' ah" but lucky,my wife is quite a 'cat person'.watever clothes or shoes that are expensive, she will safe guard it very well.... i still remember there's 1 time when my SIL is going out together with us for lunch bcos she overheard our conversation of going for Korean BBQ.we have no intention of bringing her along, but since she wants to tag along then we also chin chye n let her follow...but my SIL fast hand fast leg grab my wife's new Adidas jacket to wear and leave a old jacket for my wife to wear.i was damn furious and told my wife that i have a headache and doesn't want to go out for lunch anymore, end up eating mi goi at home for the 3 of us. |

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner
The problem with most viet spouse is that they cannot speak either English or mandarin well. Furthermore, they are hindered by lack of education . This is the reason why the government requires Singaporean male who marries foreign spouse to be financially stable.

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner
something to share with the bros here:
disclaimer: it's long and draggy, i know. xin loi. but i feel so excited to have had such an experience! I made a last minute trip to viet nam bcuz my girl requested me to do so due to some reasons. At first i thought it would be just a normal trip to hcmc but ended up she told me, "NO! i told everyone that you are coming to my place!" I was like, "SHIT! im not ready yet..." But no choice... she kept begging me again and again and promise that it will be fun. I gave in finally. Long story cut short, we traveled on a van 4 hours+ from HCMC to a city in AG and took a 30p cab to a nearby town. At a junction, her brothers were waiting for us on bikes. We alighted the taxi and i rode one of the bike myself with my girl behind leading the direction and set off deep into the lorong at the junction. It was another 30p bike ride deep into the padi field, along dirt roads and canals before we reached her place... which is not a house to us sillyporean but a long legged SHACK! And worse there was a flood in AG a few days ago and i had to waddle in the water on a slightly elevated pathway leading to the door. the living room floor is still made of tiles but the middle compartment which is a bedroom and the last compartment which is a kitchen are made of wood. the wall and the roof is partly zinc plate and dried leaves. Everyone around her house which includes her uncles and aunties and grandmother and all the children all gathered around... looking at me this alien. but they are nice and friendly, kept smiling and talking to me even though i couldnt get what they say most of the time. My girl helped to make some introduction to the elders and helped with some translation bcuz of my very very limited spoken TV. They mainly asked me about my age, my parents age, my viec lam etc. Then i was invited to the next door for dinner. We had dinner on the floor, making a circle comprises only of men, me and my girl. The women and children all stood/squat/sit on the floor outside the circle and watch us eat. They kept making me to drink but luckily my girl kept stopping them. And the food! they cook some weird snail, weird salted duck egg, crab and its kang etc. I can barely eat them all. the only thing i can eat is the bbq pork meat. My girl is nice enough to help me crack the crab shell by biting and let me eat. I tried the salted duck egg with rice a bit but it tastes and looks so weird to me that i cant finish it. Her father took the left over and finish it all. During the dinner, some weird conversation topic happened. The men asked me if i love my girl. I said yes of course i do. Then some other men kept saying KISS KISS KISS! haha... but then i say OM and i om my girl. And then... the kicking one... one man said something i couldnt understand, pointed to the bedroom and made some gestures that look like bonking! Maybe i think too much but when i asked my girl she say she dunno When dinner was over, one of the uncle asked me to go tam at the flooded compound in the flood water which is so muddy and dirty I told my girl i can't bathe in cold water and then they boiled some hot water and let me tam in a toilet outside the house. One shocking encounter, her mother use the flood water to wash her bowl and gargled her mouth The kids just peeped somewhere around the same spot! and the men are playing cards and gambling! And they kept asking me to play but i didn't dare because i seriously dunno what are they playing although it looks like big2 to me. after the game, the men went to the kitchen by dragging me along, of course to drink again! i had to call out to my girl and asked her to come save me. back to the living room where there is a bed with wooden bed frame, my girl made the bed with some thick blanket as mattress because it's wooden and set up the mosquito net for us to sleep. her mother and her sister cousin(future VB supply to sg) set up theirs on the floor. after some talking which is around 9.30pm? everyone was already turned in. I was the only restless soul who couldn't sleep not because of the time but the environment and the jitters in me. And it's quite warm inside the netted bed. my girl took a fan and put it inside but it turns out the fan keep blowing at my face and my leg that discomforted me from sleeping. My girl was too tired and sleepy after a long journey during the day so i didnt want to wake her up from her sleep even though she asked me to wake her up if i want to go anywhere like toilet etc. I sneaked out of the netted bed and tried to sleep on the floor with no mattress. the moment i felt so cooling and just nice to start falling asleep, mosquitoes ambushed me like they never tasted a sillyporean blood. In the end, no choice, i had to go back to the bed, turn off the fan, took off my top and slept. in the middle of the night, two cats stormed into the living room (bcz there's no door) and cat-fought and made loud shrieking noise. I was startled and i sit up straight from bed. her mother saw it and she sniggered. must be thinking me this sillyporean nvr experience such thing before. My girl also woke up and told me, "aiya it's just cat la! ngu di!" well... -end of day 1-

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner
Today's The Straits Times 'Vietnamese gang caught in second stealing spree ' , the infamous Vietnamese stealing gangs are hitting Singapore shores. These gangs have created havoc in Taiwan during the last decade till Taiwanese govt banned Vietnamese tourist below the age of 45 from entering Taiwan. First was vice related, now's stealing . The reputation is tarnished . Haiz
