Now budget is a loosely defined term liao.....H81 chain moving 'upmarket'.....Hotel81s in non-GL areas like Bencoolen & Upper Changi (incidentally is located jus off JC) charge as high as $149 for a nite (check in 4am checkout 1pm) during 'high season'.....ccb how budget is that?

Just an update ... went to H81 Bugis on a Thursday and transit for 2hrs cost $20 + $10membership.

H81 is no longer budget for overnite, only good for transit.They even come up with some idiot rule..friday or sat got extra $20. nabei..

H81 Hear that!!!! designer hotel for 180plus!! Same price as your deluxe room. They got nice pillow, working remote control, free 1 more extra packet of coffee, free tea, TV CHANNELS which are clear, MORE tv channels and friendly staff.

Everytime i go H81, i keep asking myself whether i owe your staff money. Show me black face all day long and super rude...

That time i stayed at this hotel called....F**k i forgotten...some yr one lah..
1920, 1890 or something like that. Near H81 cosy.

H81 really damn cock now...damn terrible. price up like nobody business..even Fragrance also damn ex..the one near Mt faber charge like 5star hotel price.

Called Gallery hotel, super nice hotel charge me 170Plus. got singaporean discount somemore.. and hear this!!! FREE BREAKFAST FOR 2!!!!

I think cannot stay hotel liao...at the rate they are increasing, i spend my montly salary just staying hotel. Might as well rent a room somewhere.

hmm.. this hotel is nice.. i checked it once out but the cost is not cheap.. sitting in sg's oldest heritage area.. very classy, posh and nice.. definitely good for impressing gals.. but will burn a big hole in your pocket as per night rate can go as high as $200 for the cheapest room and no guarantee on the availability of the room as this hotel is quite popular..

With the rising property prices, it is going to be very hard for u to find a reasonable place with 2 rooms for less than 1k/mth. Thats the reason why u see hotel rates going up - higher rental yields and higher tourism numbers. Sad to say, we are at the receiving end of this inflation onslaught.

You sure or not ... both 1929 & Gallery under 300 for the night?
When was this? How long ago?
For these 2 hotels, I'm more than willing to pay 300 a night anytime ... still can remember the wonderful time frolicking with 2 babes in that see-through Gallery pool.

It's not "Singaporean Discount" lah ... any big hotel (meaning dun do transit type) will offer this "walk-in rates" for locals, applicable when they still have rooms & you did not make prior reservation to hold those rooms.

Putting the burnt pocket aside ... yes, 1929 & Gallery are the lower ends of hotels that will make your girl feel "loved". If your pocket is fire-proof, I suggest you try Scarlet Hotel (junior suite comes with jacuzzi IN the room) & Rasa Sentosa (bonking at the balcony facing the sea was a real joy) ... can't quite remember the hotel name, but it's the new one facing Cafe del Mar: it's suite has got your own jacuzzi pool (roof-top style), you can either tan or soak naked while the beach ahead of you is full of bikini babes ... dun think I even have to sell koyok on the joy of bonking in or out of the pool, whether in the day or at night.

Dun know about Gallery but managed to get 1929 at SGD175 for 2 nites for a visiting japanese friend. They were newly opened back then and this jap friend.... she loved the hotel.
