Hi Bros,
Now got some time so must haolian abit bout my conquests in Shenzhen.... Victim : Japanese Restaurant Waitress Place : "Jia Nian Na" Entertainment Centre, LOWU Japanese Restaurant 3 floor Price : FOC + durex condoms from changi airport RTF : Confirm Ok, once i had dinner in that rather posh and tasty japanese restaurant in the above place. Yes, I have been in China on frequent trips for the past 10 years (in Beijing most of the time), and within which 6 years in Shanghai. My real activities started right from 1993, but have become more intense in the past 5 years. I will be glad to know you. I shall let you know the next time I am in China. Bro Shagman69 is more active than me (as his nick implies) in Shanghai and Hangzhou (His areas), and he is very helpful. Right! Bro Shagman69, I still remember Ping, your good recommendation. Brothers here usually write about their success stories, and I have a lot to write about, but am too busy and am not a person to write about details on activities. If I have the time, I would rather write about my experience of failure, which I believe would be more beneficial to brothers here. The two weeks before and after big national holidays that I wrote about is a true experience, please do take it at heart. My all recent trips to Shanghai were all with bosses and tight. I tried to find some space in the program during my September trip to Shanghai and Beijing, but to no avail. Have to wait till the next trip. I am sure the brothers in this forum will benefit from your experience and contacts in Hangzhou. Give us more leads and we will all appreciate. I remember the pub that you brought me, looked happening, and one of the ladies with your lady friend then was gorgeous. Sorry to learn about your bad experience. I am sure you would not fall into the same trap again. When I am in Shanghai, when approached by these con men, I would tell them in my limited Shanghainese "Thank you , I am going to XXXX, I know my way". They usually do not disturb you again as at time, these people can be persistent to the extent of being irritating. The receipt, if given by a Private Car driver, I doubt it would be of any use, as one can buy fake receipts rather easily in China. My bad experience happened several years ago in Beijing. I took a cab from the Hotel to the Airport. When reaching, and after transfering my luggage to the cart (always do it first before paying), the driver told me 150RMB, and yet the correct amount should be 70 RMB. I then realised that I forgot to check whether he had flagged the meter down. I refused to pay and said 80 RMB was the amount I would pay. He turned ugly, and so did I. I told him to give me a receipt, but he wanted me to pay 150RMB before he would give me the receipt. I refused, and finally, I gave him 100 RMB as I was a bit late to catch my flight. I kept the receipt and later reported to the Hotel. As it is a 5 star hotel, they were helpful and managed to get the driver. They told me that he would reimburse me 20 RMB and the driver had been reprimanded. I gave the 20 RMB to the hotel security and the matter rest. Guess what, during the subsequent trips, I still see the same guy there. However, I refuse to take his cab even when he is on queue to pick me up. Moral of the story, when got on a cab in China, first ask whether they issue receipt (not hand-written), and then make sure that the meter is activated. My 2 cent worth

I've been conned afew times by taxi drivers taking longer routes, which when I insisted on the taxed receipt upon reaching the destination, all of them eventually give discount or the actual fares to be paid for. The fact is that should we lodge a complaint to their taxi company with the taxed receipt as evidence in hand, not only will the taxi driver be reprimanded, but also they will penalised & put in record on their performance report. On top of which, all organised taxi companies like Dazhong, Jing Jiang & Qiang Sheng here in Shanghai will also compensate u ( especially if u r a foreigner status lodging a complaint threatening to write to the media or the Ministry of Transportation) double or sometimes triple the taxi fare which u being conned for. Otherwise next time round, try taking the Airport Shuttle Bus (Bus No.2 line) to Jing An City Airport Terminal Building at Nanjing West Road near to te JingAn Temple which cost only a mere RMB 19. After which, transfer to a taxi when u arrived in the city. Provided have little luggage to carry. Anyway, now that we have got to know one another here in Shanghai, rest assured we will shared whatever we can on any info to help each other fellow Samster here so as to prevent all these unpleasant experiences in future.
