运 yes we can, by doing good deeds more (must be from your heart then it counts) to increase you luck.
then come 风水. It will only works if your luck is good.

For example, this 3 elements make up of 100%. Life stand 40% the rest 30% each.

If your life is not good, no luck. Fortune teller give you 30% 风水 also no use. So 运 & 风水 must work hand in hand to see things happen. If a fortune teller tell you tat you will become a boss someday, then you sit at home and wait for the opportunity to fall from the sky lor.

My fortune was told on 2 occasion.

1. 1976 in Taiwan- 1st meeting with this friend of family ffriend. Told my pass accurately. My future was rather accurate too.. I said 'rather' cos his words kept coming back to me and I was consiously trying to relate every major event in my life to match what he said... We missed meeting each other by a whisker on a few occasions and finally met at a huge gathering in Apr 08. He couldnt recognize me immediately but finally said he saw my mom's eyebrows on me. Told me to bring my family to see him in Taiwan I dare not

2. 1988 in HK at Wong Dai Sin Temple with my then gf.. Pretty accurate too..


I think it's because most of the things said about me was good. Sub-consciously I tried to achieve all the good things that were said about me.. Had they said bad things about me I might not be as good(relatively) as now? Maybe I would have achieved more if they have not told my fortune? I am not rich but I dont have to worry about my next meal for my family. Is that good enough? I dont know.

I believe everyone's fate is in their own hands. You are what you are because of the actions you took and the efort you put in. You have to believe you can achieve the things you want. Faith can move mountains!

Doing good deeds? Yes.. I do good deeds from time to time. When approached I'll do my part. However.. all these are done in the quiet, not seen by the world. I help because I sympatize and want to share what little extras I can spare and never for the lucky draw behind that donation nor the good karma that comes with it. Just DO IT.. no expectations.

Agreed on faith can move a mountain.
But if the good deeds can be done with Bodhicitta motivation, it can bring forth immesurable merits. When carrying out good deeds, the fruitation of the karma depends and on ur motivation and effort. it defers base on motivation and effort same goes to black deeds as well.

Like a bro said.. Not believing in it does not mean it does not exist. Just that I do not and dare not seek beyond what is given to me at birth. I was told from young that if I do pray at any religious places do not ask for anything other than peace and health for the world.

We can seek to pray for other things as well from as long as we contribute to at least the welfare of others. If not there wouldn't be so many manifestation of Buddhas like Manjushri to increase wisdom, Vaisravana(wealth deity to increase wealth), Kurukulle to increase our people relationship etc. So long as there is no impurity in our thoughts in praying for things.

Well done u have asked the wrong person again if only i have the amount which is considered " small case to me " to borrow u why not? Recently have burrowed some amount to help someone's sister to tide over study expenses and was made to tighten my belt for that one month. Didn't think of getting it back at least ppl are grateful for wat i have done.

Personally I go to 1 particular fortune teller once a blue moon..... Very accurate in my personal point of view.

He told me I am those 伯公仔....... I will have very "Good" life if I don't meddle with "桃花".......

True enough I meddle and my life turn upside down...... within 1 year I lost everything.......

Thinking back, it was I who created all these..... Not others to blame...... Now most importantly is to get back on my feet and move on.....

Very interesting thread, I wanna ask a question. Does visiting hookers accumulate bad karma?

For me, fortune telling does seem to be accurate. When I was very young, I got stricken with a terrible disease, after i recovered, my parents actually told me that they knew that such a thing was gonna happen to me. They claim that they saw a fortune teller when I was born who said that I would face two such mishaps in my life, once when I'm young, and another when I'm very old. Dunno whether true or not, wait till I'm old to find out, LOL.
