I think the raids are crazy now because they are targetting, not prostitutes (which is not illegal), but foreigners who are here and who shouldn't be working in illegal activities like massage (due to visa restrictions).

In other words, I believe if a massage joint exists that is run by locals only, has no pimps or OKTs, does not advertise, the police have no grounds to raid them, even if they provide special services. Unfortunately, I doubt locals would be keen to work in this line!

All foreigners who do not have a Work Pass issued by MOM are not allowed to perform any kind of work in Singapore.

There are foreigners here on long term visit pass - they can't work in the first year but after that they can apply for a work permit, but:

from MOM: Please note that these Long Term Visit Pass holders are not allowed to work in objectionable occupations such as bar/dance hostesses, masseurs etc.

This is probably one group they are targetting during raids.

And this from wiki which I checked against the Women's Chater in the Statutes so it's accurate:

Prostitution in Singapore is legal, but various prostitution-related activities are not. This includes public solicitation, living on the earnings of a prostitute and maintaining a brothel.

So if you are a Singaporean woman and you decide to be an independent prostitute, do not have a pimp or someone living off your profits, and you do not solicit clients in a public place, you are acting within the law.

Interesting thing is that a search warrant must be issued to allow the police to check the premises for pimping. Can a search warrant be used repeatedly (multiple times) or only for that one time? If the court must be convinced that a place is used for prostitution, then this evidence can come from here - a thread with name, address and FRs is probably enough to get a search warrant out to raid the place...

I fear this might be the case.. if a thread printout is sufficient evidence to get a court to issue a search warrant, especially if the thread contains enough descriptions of the joint and the services, we are really making things worse. Maybe the best solution is to do any detailed descriptions in PM only from now on.

Of course it is good enough: think about it, do forummers make up stories? When someone gives an FR, do you believe it or do you think it is fantasy?

Do you think private messaging works? Who are you writing to? Does a bro with many points mean he is ok?

Today, my M'sian friend asked me for good HC recommendation as he will be in town tomorrow for business..

I told him that all good HCs were gone with the wind and he should use up all his bullets in KL's HC before stepping onto our CLEAN shore.
