Today Google Maps transformed everyone in experienced explorers, who never get lost and can walk straight via the optimal path to any destination...

By the way, 10 mins walking, along the long way avoiding the shortcut, can be defined "LONG DISTANCE" for you??

A Singaporean man has been arrested in Batam for allegedly sodomising children, said a Straits Times report, citing local police sources.

According to a police statement on Thursday (12 October), the man, who is an entrepreneur, allegedly committed the offences between 16 and 24 September in the Nongsa area. Preliminary investigations revealed three victims, said the police.

The Batam police chief has urged residents to notify the police if they were to know of more victims.

If found guilty of sodomising children, the man faces a jail term of up to 15 years.

nono, it's better to get a local SIM card. no need pay over 100k for 1. Nowadays even 4G prepaid can be acquired for less than 50k. After asking around at BCS mall for some prepaid, I settled for Bima 3 4G prepaid with 2GB LTE local data for 1 month and an expiration date that last till 10 Oct 2018. Yes 1 year expiry. Tapi tiada pulsa.(Means no credit) Quoted 50k for this & bargained to 45k.

Thanks for the compliments, been in batam more than 18 years, from dirt roads time to until a major city. Batam had a lot of alot changes.

Walking has been difficult for me nowdays due to pains... getting old... use to be able to walk for hours non stop. Hahahaha.

Those were the better days, when traffic is not that heavy, nicer air n slower pace of life. Not kampong life, but a slower pace of life.

Entertainments were part of life, n Cheonging places are not that many to choose from. Chicken houses like femine or PI, new berlian, karaoke places to book them aren't that many yet. But rates are much lower. Foodcourts are happy places to be for drinking. Cheap food n beer. High class massage places are few.

Today, most cheongsters are spoil for choices.

The best time i ever had at batam was during late suharto downfall 1998. Not just btm but nearby sillypore like balai, batu and Tg pinang. Everything was cheap cheap cheap. Hotels, cewek, food etc all cheap. Cewek not demanding. Treat tamu like husband/king. No such treatment nowadays

Solution : Next time go Batam need to use Power-surge-protector to power up my plugged in laptop. (rainy weather in Batam at year-end)

This is the power socket that burnt my laptop's adaptor...

Can see the wire protruding from the outside of the socket if one look closer.

I don't just write an All Good reviews on the hotel/s I stayed in. Whenever I met with something not right,i wrote them down to warn others too (yes,i have been spoilt in some ways,hehehe...). Thinking about the wasted 700k rupiah already pissed me off. All power sockets should not have their wirings protruding out of the socket itself,and this one is. I am likely to avoid all lower than waist level power socket from now onward...

...and what did the hotel staffs says about it? No compensation is fine but I doubt they will even try to warn their future staying guest about this issue too. So bros who were with me in the past, just be extra careful if you notice any power socket that look very old and "not too right" as what you have seen normally.

Well...I thought so too. But it's a very old power socket (from the look of it),so I left that to bad luck. Hotel staffs tells me, "how would we know your power adaptor hasn't already been spoilt before you plugged in?" They did a test on some device like table lamb and it works fine.

So I guess to them,i am at fault who brought along a faulty power adaptor. But I have to be honest,the adaptor is around 8 to 9 years old,laptop was running on windows 8.
